I thin there is an app on the market called 'quickboot'... i think thats the name.
Dunno if its free or paid but I think that does a reboot option.... dunno if it works though lol.

I have my doubts. We still need WinMo to initialize HaRet and we can't manipulate WM from Android as it is totally switched off when Android is running. Not before we get an Android flashable NAND ROM, I'm afraid...

Keyboard problems..

I woke up one morning, and my keyboard and the other buttons had stopped working, and som buttons got some new (wrong) functions.
And when im in the file explorer menu, i can't click on anything, and that also happens in the messages menu.
Someone know what the problem might be? Tried to to a hard reset, and the problems are still there.
(sorry for my bad(?) english)
have you installed any new software before this happen?

wave secure

hi everyone
loving the site, really some good stuff on here. i'm gutted i missed out on the wavesecure beta by two days. i downloaded it off the web when it was still in beta but installed it off android market first forgetting that the beta had ended.
if i had installed the saved pc version would that have worked? and if so is there a way of wiping it completely off the phone (if i uninstall it and reinstall it remembers that i've installed it previously)
otherwise, i think i'll just have to pay the subscription, just gutted i missed out by two days . . .

even with the beta package installed, the start date for your account would be timestamped after the free window had expired.
Someone has to pay them for such a great service...thanks for stepping up

Garbage app. Can be removed by anyone knowing about these forums. Even their new addon was gone from my phone in less that a minute this morning. Save your money.
Why is it garbage? Is there a free/better alternative?

He's calling it garbage because anyone with a little know how can just uninstall the app, rendering it useless.
Programs like Wave Secure are great; but they need to be uninstallable.
but most would be thieves wouldn't have the know how, plus the phone can be locked as soon as u can get to the internet.
unless u mean it can be uninstalled once the phone is locked, hard reset maybe?

Most mobile phone thieves wouldn't have a clue how to uninstall it or do a hard reset, but they DO know enough to turn it off right away, and LEAVE it off until they've sold it on.
The buyer almost certainly WILL know what to do to disable such security measures. The only way to truly prevent it, is for the program to be in ROM, so it can't be disabled. You may as well just call your operator and get the IMEI disabled.

Camera Not Opening!!!!

My camera wont work. When i start it up, a message pops up saying: Unable to initialize camera. Failed to set up the camera device. It does the same for the camcorder. Ive tried opening it from its quicklink at home, from the start menu, and in both spots in the pictures and videos tab. Help.

Are you running as Stock or custom rom? Has it worked before? Have you tried hard resetting? Need more input
factory reset
Looks like it is time for a factory reset. Did you mess with the registry at all!?
what do you mean by registry? Also, the only real mod ive done was Cookies home tab.
PS: hard resetting did not work, and yes, it worked a few days ago.
stock and custom roms are like actuall mods to the windows software right?

"Stock ROM" is the software (including Windows Mobile, HTC Sense, and all the factory-installed apps) that was on your phone when you first bought it. Custom ROMs are what are developed here, and replace the stock one with one that's been tweaked or customized in some way.
If you were running anything but the stock ROM, you would know it because the process to put a new one on there is fairly involved (unless you bought a used phone that already had a custom ROM on it...)
Bought my phone new, got it like last week. All and any customizations to my phone were on CAB files.

I have only had this issue once but I reflashed the rom and it was ok. I would try flashing a stock rom and if that doesnt fix it then it maybe a hardware issue and I would take it to a T-mobile store for a replacement
how do i reflash a stock rom, and will it mess anything up? Like my custom home tab, or my programs?

If you did a hard reset then all your mods should not be there. Flashing a stock rom will remove all the modes you have done. was your modes still there after the hard reset?
yes everything was unchanged. And hard resetting is taking out the battery when it is running correct?

No a Hard Reset is holding the volume down and volume up button and then hit the reset button on the back. Keep holding the volume buttons till you get a grey screen and then follow the directions. This will reset your phone to factory. then install your cabs one by one till you find the one that caused the issue
both vol buttons simultaneously??? And that doesnt sound fun, i guess it will be a good idea to back up everything.

It should not be asking for your serial on a hard reset. If you are trying to DL a stock rom, do the Hard reset first, I am 99.9% certin it will fix the camera
If that finger-dance is a little too tricky, you can also do a hard-reset by going to Settings -> All Settings -> System, and then running the "Clear Storage" icon you'll find there. The buttons method is good to know though, in case you need to hard-reset a totally-locked up phone someday

You bet! I still use the hardware method, both because it just "feels" more absolute, and in case I need to be adept at it if I ever can't get into the software, like last time....and the time before...and.. LOL

[REQ] Volume wake up

Hi All, if there's any mod that can wake up HTC Desire 816 using volume up down button please let know. I have tried many play store apps but they don't work as intended. Thank you!
Hard button only solution for this device, i think so!
It worked on Sense toolbox. Since it doesn't have support for Marshmallow..., need another option.
A xposed module may be..

Tried it and don't like when display turns on automatically when I'm carrying it..

It's got sensitivity settings in app that need to be adjusted and has an option to click for extra in pocket turn on protection which I never even needed until I started wearing mid leg pocketed pants but my humble opinion is you weren't setting it up correctly in app because at first I wasn't but I respect the fact you used it and didn't like it. I just don't have those issues you mentioned. Oh well just a thought. Good luck.
Volume2Wake is possible on MM! Use Xposed module "Physical Button Music Control" (you need latest alpha version)

If you're using it - is it reliable, working even after phone's on deep sleep? If so, can you share me the combinations?

This time for real! I've implemented volume to wake as part of this Xposed module: https://github.com/OronDF343/SenseMods
That part of the code is actually AOSP-compatible.

Doesn't really work well for me mate
It works well in the few mins after restarting the phone & when trying later it does not. Sometimes works when press vol (-) about 15 times.

First off all it's cute that you and your wife have the same phone
second. she had a crash that's all. try cleaning her phone (remove apps -> put apps on sd and make more space available.) if that doesn't work try factory reset. also wich build are you on? (settings->about phone-> build number)

Yeah. The deal was irrefutable But I don't mind, my phone works well, I don't use s**tty apps.
Our buildnumber is:

I'll make a hard reset if it comes back. Her apps stored on the sd card, there is a lot of free space and only the most used apps are installed on her phone. So I've trusted in you guys to save it
