Who is with me?
With all the gripes that we have with this phone right now, including no 2.1 for a 8 months (by which time SE will launch a newer Android device and pay no attention to X10 owners) as well as multitouch, live wallpapers, hundreds of apps that dont run on anything less than 2.1 etc etc, I think its high time we hit SE where it hurts.
Bring on AMOLED, 512 MB RAM, native flash and 2.2 around the corner.
Who needs a 8MP camera. Seriously, all cameras on mobile phones are **** anyways.
The screen size is a tad smaller, but so is the phone (which is better in my books).
Any other reasons anyone can think of apart from the obvious?
Just about to flog it on fleebay/gumtree
You sound horribly insecure. Its just a phone. Relax for god sake.
thats because i probably am... or perhaps just enlightened...

Exactly its phone nothing more. Jheeze what a pointless thread.
I sincerly hope you are satisfied once you switch.
The X10 is as advertised and I am happy with it as is.
Im sure you are all very happy with the device at hand and this is probably not the best forum for this topic, although I know of a lot of users here who feel the same way about the X10 and would be willing to move away.
If not now, than a couple of months down the line, you will all be singing the same tune when most of the apps stop offering upgrades on the 1.6 platform.
Everyone's opinion is welcome and a forum (any) is the perfect place to express it.
I respect your opinion and your reasoning as it does have merit.
For me, this is my first run on Android.
I like the SE UI and the apps are secondary to me.
i'm with you. but i'm going for the nexus one. receiving that piece of sexy tomorrow.
I will wait another month or so, to see if we get it rooted. If not, ill be getting a 4G when available in the UK
boring htc phones
To be very honest i think Desire and Nexus are both boring not so well designed phones. They´re geek phones with no aesthetics. X10 it´s way more sleek, elegant and big! Froyo will come as well to the X10... just patience my friends. Who know we get the phone rooted pretty soon...
Don't let the door hit you on the way out!
seriously im getting tired of these "omg ive had it with this x10 gotta sell it" go ahead , no one really cares. coming from 2.1, i still dont care if the x10 is still 1.6, its fast, sexy and its just a phone! im all for root, and itll come. for now though people who dont sit at home all day in mommys basement are enjoying the x10.
i certainly hope puberty doesnt confuse you as much as your x10 dilemma.

anyone who is happy with the way the x10 is right now is seriously either super retard OR cant/doesnt have the money/whatever reason to switch to another phone. "ofcourse i am talking software wise " not the phone it self in general as i used to have X10 and i love the design of the phone more than my new nexus 1
anyway OP. i did the same yesterday, i bought the Nexus 1 tho. mainly because i never like the HTC interface and i figure that phones like nexus and motorolla droid are always faster to get updates " since i wont wait for htc to implement their software into the phone before updating.
the guy at the store promised me not to sell my x10 for a week " he is a friend " if SE annouce 2.2 by then or the phone get rooted " haha wtf i am thinking " then great i will get it back. if not, then the hell with SE. let them shove the phone up their @$$. or some unlucky mfer buy it
let us know if it hurts when yours drop too...wait there should be a thread for prepubescent b00ns...

Seriously just keep the x10 for now. Root will come sooner or later. You knew the x10 would come with 1. 6 then why did you buy it in the first place? If I have the patience to wait for 2. 1 or root then so does everyone else, unless you don't have a life and loaft around xda starting useless threads saying ur gonna sell your x10 for another phone. If so go ahead no one is stopping you. We don't need to know anything else. As far as I know this is the xperia x10 thread.

i'm going to be keeping the x10 for a while even after my nexus one gets here today.
i have faith in x10. but the phone seriously is limited by the OS. the nexus one's looks are a matter of opinion and mostly on taste. i love the way it looks but all the good features are on newer OS.
we all knew Android would be updated. but i don't think people expected the phone to have such a long wait for an update with an outdated OS. you get an android phone these days for the reason that the OS will only get better with updates. everyone sees the petition thread, right?
if OS didn't mean a thing and that it didn't have any issues for the X10, no one would be complaining.
Moving to another phone in the future?
Maybe.
HTC? No way ..
What else?
A new iteration of Nexus, maybe a better Galaxy S (one with flash for camera) or a Motorola Motoroi if they decide to sell it in US/Canada.
But really... HTC?
I'm sorry to say but you are crazy
Giving your X10 for HTC Desire/Legend or Nexus One is pointless.
None of them is as good as X10.

pointless ? ..... what planet are you from ?
I agree with miguelsantos1979.
1st Gen AMLOED screens are not overly impressive, my friend has the Desire and he struggles to see the screen in direct sun light.
If you want to change the handset, change it rather then write a post like a spoilt child
Well, assuming that people don't have the cash to switch to another phone when they are having a X10 is the most useless comment I read here since I became a member, it's not about having cash my friend, it's about what you expect from something you bought and if the product suits you or not.
Fortunately everyone is different, I like my X10 eventhough on my X1 I was able to make my own themes and tweaked whatever I wanted. Ashame some games can't be installed because of the fact it is still running on 1.6, but that's not worth getting another phone for me personally. I will wait for the updates, and as soon as SE comes with the update, there will be something new to complain about. That is how it works in this fastgrowing technology world we live in.
Another point can be not everyone goes so deep in their phones as we do, and for "normal" people the X10 is fantastic as it is. SE want to sell big with this phone, so making it to complicated scares of the average customer who just buys a phone based on the looks of it, and you have to admit, the first time you had the X10 in your hand, it was looking good
Just relax and take a beer after you bought yourself another phone
Cheers,
Arnold
What do you dislike about X10, SE, and/or the 1.6. And, what advantages if any do you believe the new Iphone 4G have over the X10?

No i wont trade my XPERIA X10 into a product that costs about 80% more than my XPERIA X10 while having half of the features the XPERIA X10 have. And when you look here, you also know why i wont buy that phone ever.
Everything in that list is something my XPERIA X10 can do out of the box.
Hell no... Never.. and certainly not when I'd have to pay £60 a month for a 2 year contract to get the handset for free...
Even if it wasn't so ridiculously expensive.. I'd still rather have my X10 (and no.. I'm neither an Apple hate or an SE fanboy! - I have an Ipod, and have never owned an x10 before)..
Sure... if I was an idiot with more money than brains, who is willing to support a company with no morals that has one hell of a marketing department which has been able to fool the masses into believing that the iPhone is something better and something they need to be "cool".

Wow - I didn't realise there was so much lacking in the iPhone... mind you there's some things there that also apply to the x10 (especially with its current 1.6 OS)
There are some great specs on the iPhone4, well, mainly just the pixel depth of that screen, but apart from that, not much...
Also, I'd much rather have the flexibility of the Android OS over the highly locked down iPhone OS
Sometimes it's more important that a few 'specs'

Yup, i totally agree with you.
I got an iPod touch, so I know what iOS mean.
And iOS 4 on iPhone 4 as just "multitask" (I get real multitask on my ipt2G with jailbreak)
iPod touch = nice mp4 with some cool feature
iPhone (3GS/4) = bad phone who want to look nice
Now that I discovered android, no way to jail me into iOS again !
iOS is not fully useless, I give my ipod touch to my girlfriend because of her "computer accident" =) Yes it's more easy to use thant android, but for people who don't come on xda forum^^
thanks for the warning about apple products. I have never owned an apple anything. But my mate stopped by with his new iphone 4g and it looked like a nice kit.
I wish the X10 would be getting the 2.2 instead of the 2.1. I really want the adobe 10.1.
I gave the HTML5 a go and the video's worked just fine on iphone.
I actually came from an iphone iOS4 (i've owned orginal, 3gs, and 4) and am loving my x10, but the main reason for my switch is flash which we may or may not get from SE... keep fingers for custom roms
Also I'm left handed and Apple hates my kind

You came from the 4G? What site do you normally stream video's from the doesn't work with HTML5?
As for the 10.1 some one will need to cook 2.2 or it won't work. It will probably happen sooner or later. But if that is the main reason you switched why not go with the EVO? 10.1 should work out of the box.
Seriously, guys...

Well, the difficulty is that he has also ignored more than half of the people in this thread as well. I looked back through his posts and it's nothing but slagging off the X10. Trollish for sure.
I like to watch tv from justin.tv and html5 does not support... plus at least for me on my iphone4 the ones that do work were not that great interms of framerate, but i'm sure with time it'll be ironed out.
Trust me i wish i could have switched to EVO, but I'm stuck on AT&T and if you know anything about them it is the MAIN REASON NOT TO GET AN IPHONE... AT&T lol

+1! I can understand the frustration, but don't get why people are selling their phones right now, that's just cutting your nose off to spite your face imo.
Well I got rid of mine because I've had enough of SE dragging their heels, I'm running 2.2 on my HD2 and its the best move I have made tbh.
I know SE already have my money, but I didn't see the point of sticking with something I wasn't happy with.
I know its only a phone at the end of the day and all the normal stuff worked, its just SE's policy on providing support, Ohh its ok the users who gave us there hard earned cash can wait for their update as we already have their cash.
I hope the devs can do somethin with the X10 as it is a cracking piece of kit and not worthy of running 1.6.

Hows that desire HD rom
Here's a thought:
Instead of venting on this board where X10 users and hobbyist developers gather to exchange ideas why not send a wellformulated email to something like SE sales or SE's customer services? Most of us here have no connection to SE other than owning one of their phones. Some of us don't even have a choice and couldn't switch if we wanted to.
Coming here to vent won't really do anything other than piss people off which is kind of counter-productive. Even if some here agree with your views there's not a lot we can do other than trying to do the best we can with what we got.
If you hope to accomplish something or even get SE to recognize your problems then the best way is really to write a proper message to SE explaining your stance. It's a long-shot but there's always a chance that they will listen to the critique and act on it.
*****ing to us X10 users helps no one, most of us don't even care and it just takes up your time.
Just create a thread for all these complainers about leaving their phone yada yada yada. Simple.
I agree, if you don't like then leave and join other forum for the phone you want.
Most phone manufacturers are concern about making money and that is business so no choice.

Yes, we like and love the phone not because it has updated OS but it is the phone hardware and specs which makes us attracted to it.
Even if the phone is updated with the latest OS like 2.2 or even 3.0 but the outlook of the phone don't look nice or the specs of the hardware is not advance, holding the phone don't makes us feel good as well.
It is the same like cars, even though your car is powerful but the design of the car do not look good, less people will buy it.
Just my sharing.

Slowe CPU too.
And Motorola is locking their devices too.

Calling them ugly is a bit harsh imo, non-descript is a better name for it. They're basic and they don't stand out. They're sort of like the VW Passat, the design is perfectly fine but also very forgettable at the same time.

I'm pretty sure all the features that were promised on the the box are working fine. Don't get confused with the ramblings you hear on the internet, they are the wants of users, not the promises of se.
I want features such as froyo, 16 million colours, flash etc. as much as anyone, but such things were never promised. And lack of 16 million colours isn't aproblem, you would be hard pressed to see the difference, unless you have a fascination with looking at colour gradients. And no multitouch, even though it has been denied as a feature countless times is a blessing. If there was multitouch you can say goodbye to using the phone one handed. Multitouch gestures are stupid, pointless and annoying.
So if you want to sell your phone, then godspeed to you. But please don't complain to other users that enjoy theirphone, just because you didn't research properly what this phone is capable of.
No offence intended, this is an open discussion and that is my point of view, if you can show evidence of broken promises then be my guest. Delay in 2.1 update doesn't count, release dates for software slip, its a fact of life. Deal with it.

Why do some people think others care if they got a new phone LOL. I bet the honeymoon will last no more then a few weeks with their new device, then they will complain about some issues they have with it.
Sony has made some stupid moves IMO but whatever company you go to the situation will be the same. At most you will get one major update and some bugfix updates.
I blew off alot of steam about how the 2.1 update wouldn't even include 16m colors...I then got really pissed about SE delaying our 2.1 update til October. I for sure said some things out of anger....but one thing I remember clearly is that I ditched a Nexus One running 2.2 (froyo) for my X10. I loved my Nexus One, it was truly amazing....but something about the X10 pulled me to it. I find with my X10 I love it more and enjoy it much more than the Nexus One. That said, I know SE pissed alot of people off..including myself....but there's no need to ditch a phone that you know you loved because SE delayed the update. Honestly look at it this way, is your phone going to die? will it not live for another month until 2.1? will you die? can you just give your phone the chance of running 2.1 before you are so quick to judge....maybe just MAYBE!! SE are being secretive about something in the update...maybe not. But I have a damn good feeling when 2.1 drops to the X10 some people will be coming back to it....because SE will get there **** together and really deliver on this. If im wrong, then you can flame me. People have just a little more patience for the update.
just my two cents

we have been through a very harsh process of finally getting the 2.1 update on our phones, SE said to have another update on the UIX by december and now I have seen the multi touch working officialy by Rikard on the SE Blog, said by him to have it enabled by the next year Q1 with another update.
This looks like the guys over SE likes to keep their users kind of frustrated with future hopes of getting the phone better with updates, I'm starting to think that they see this like a game

I think the update comming out to SEUS 31/03-11 (The day before the 4. Quarter)
Maybe Sony Ericsson dont have lots os programmers, and they are not good enough to do the things before the others, the Android 1.6 are ver good costumized by SE, but there are things that needs to be programmed, like:
- Multitouch (driver)
- 16M colors (driver)
- Audio (actual driver is very bad)
- Android 2.2 (costumize and optimize to X10)
I would rather say that they have very good cryptographic team, because that is from what I can see, the best they have on their hardware.
The update in December is delayed to Q1, its the same as the one Rikard mentioned. However this will be another big update, not just enabling partial MT. Though the FW is set to launch in early January, so we should see alot of these new FW stuff at CES which I'll also be there

Update game or not, im personally fine with it and I think it only shows SE cares about us and the device. The X10 was, up to just recently, an incredibly crippled phone. Officially running 1.6 into the tenth month of 2010 is an embarrassment. I wouldn't laugh at anyone who decided to cut their losses and look for a better alternative.
The devs on XDA deserve a lot of credit for their perseverance. It is them that made this phone relevant again. Not SE's "brilliant engineers".

Couldn't agree more about both points.
Personally I'm still very resentful towards SE and will not buy nor recommend any of their products for a least a couple years. The whole talking up THEIR "brilliant engineers" is just more bull**** and pisses me off, is that supposed to be a slap in the face to all the devs out there working to fix their mistakes? Why not tell us the truth about the hardware all along? Why cripple your phone with outdated buggy software and program it not to have multi-touch? What is the incentive there?
At least they're finally listening to all the negative feedback they've been getting, but still...a big part of me wanted to see the devs accomplish multi-touch and Froyo before SE.

They LIED about the MT since the beginning man. They said the screen was resistive and not capacitive and now they say "oh...we didn't realize it was capacitive. sorry!" Right they didn't...they do not know their own hardware they are developing for?
They do not care...they launched a phone with an outdated OS when 2.1 was already out and it took them 6 months to skin it and add in their branded goods. Now the X12 is going to be launched with 2.1 when 3.0 will be out upon its launch...see a trend here? I personally do not think they care and will never buy another SE phone. Pretty sure many feel the same...see the value of the X10's on eBay now? Dirt and yet the Nexus, older, is selling for $500+ still with the vanilla OS on it. What does that tell you? Function over fashion. Bring on the 2.2 ROM from Jerpelea & Z That will be the saving grace for me and allow me to keep this phone a bit longer. Pretty much every other newer Android phone out there has MT so this phone getting MT after almost a year really is not something to be excited over. Especially when it will only be enabled for surfing and Google maps!?

There's a lot of hate for SE, but as long as they try to improve the SE experience for those with SE phones, I'm happy. Could they be doing better? Just enabling MT for the X10 is so much more than what they have done in the past. Maybe it's because I had a Nokia as my last phone that I'm happy with any substantial improvement in the OS, haha.
I forgot where I read it, but the turnaround time from new OS to handset is roughly 4 months (it used to be nearly 12 months). Froyo (2.2) came out in May and it's only been in the last couple months where handsets have been getting 2.2. The exception is the N1, but then again, that was sold as a phone for enthusiasts (and pretty much what they're using to test it on). When Gingerbread (2.3) comes out, you can expect at least another 4 months before it gets pushed OTA (besides the N1 and the NS). As they learn Android, I'm sure they'll be faster in issuing updates. Motorola was (and sometimes is) pretty slow in pushing updates for their phones but now they're cranking it out.
In regards to multi-touch... Did they ever say resistive? They were up front when they said it wasn't going to have MT. Yeah, but I agree they should have had it on the X10 in the first place. The N1 didn't have MT at first and they were quick to add it. Nexus One's MT is the same as the future X10 MT. They both are designed for pinch to zoom applications, its a limitation found in the hardware. Games will work but it will have the same multi-touch limitations as the N1. And of course - phones that have just come out have better multitouch... they're newer phones based on newer chipsets which use newer technologies.
I dont get the big idea about MT, its not a big thing, hardly use it on my wildfire.
In regards to the x10 launched with 1.6 for me it was running better than any other device with 2.1 on there. Touch wood but ive never had any problems apart from the in ear volume. So what if the value has dropped. Its the sentimental value that counts.
I praise the devs for their hardwork. Also SE...however i will say Rikard and SE need to get off their fat arses and stop delaying everything.

At least they're finally listening to all the negative feedback they've been getting, but still...a big part of me wanted to see the devs accomplish multi-touch and Froyo before SE.

i think ur taking it too far man...personally i think 1.6 was pretty good and after i updated to 2.1 i was very pleased. the updating was easy and i easily restored my contacts using the default backup and restore app
the battery life on the x10 is incredible, consitently get about 2 full days of regular usage(surfing net before classes, a little talking, some txting and listening to 1-2 hrs of music everyday). while my friend with the iphone 4 complains about terrible battery and dropped calls(he has a case too!)
the phone looks very nice and feels solid, the software isn't "buggy" i haven't had any problems with it at all(no root or anything btw). and the 2.1 version is soo smooth and looks very nice compared to say a stock android 2.1. people complain about mediascape and timescape, but personally i love them timescape doesn't use too much cpu if u disable the services (like txt, email, fb, etc) and mediascape is miles ahead of android in media playing ability.
and just to remind you, those engineers are working very hard, remember they have to develop the software for the phone from scratch and optimize every bit of it, and yes the developers here do a lot of work, but they just have to fix what the engineers messed up or modify some files, and with thousands of lines of code, its easy to mess up somewhere. im a chemical engineering major right now, and i dont know anything about computers, but in general engineers are very bright people and probably know what they are doing better than what we do.
though im not a se fanboy (this is my first se product and might be my last) some people need to tone it down. stop ranting against se like theyre the antichrist. this is my first android phone so i was still amazed with my phone even with 1.6. (android 1.6 is waaaaay better than ios 3.0) and after flashing to 2.1 my phone is enough to make my friends agree that my x10 is better than one of our friend's iphone 4 (i wouldnt be so sure of that but when they see me multitasking with widgets, live wallpaper, H connection what evr the hell that is, and removeable parts like batteries, memory, sim, etc. its hard to disagree) i will admit the x10 is nerfed by se but if you wanted a phone that focused more on android rather than custom software you should have done your research. i knew from the begining that my phone was an "android" but with se's "timescape and mediascape" ontop of "1.6" which is outdated. i also read that mt wasnt available and most likely wouldnt be. these are the things that piss people off yet these are the things you always see in online reviews, the research isnt hard. i knew what i was reading before i even knew what the terms fully meant. luckily we have devs to help fix these problems, but as i said earlier once i can upgrade i doubt ill get a se phone again (unless that psphone turns out to be real and stable, that thing looks sweet)

one think we should thank to the updates is that the price of the device that had dropped very down, maybe getting up right now.
so we have:
android 2.1,
1ghz,
4 inches
and
MT coming soon.
Try to catch a phone with those features with less than 360 bucks on ebay, only the X10.
I was thinking to getting the droid 2 GSM when it comes out, but now I really like my phone with those new things.
And the upcoming android 2.2 will be very welcome among us
SE works hard to make their devices with a pleasant experience, just like apple do with their iphones that have the best out-of-the-box experience among smartphone. even if Sony doesn't have the best state of the art technology on the world of android, we cannot deny that the UI has been carefully finished.
and btw, the x10 with 2.1 is among the best battery life GSM android phones right now, just ask someone who owns a Evo 4G about battery life and you will get it
Note: the H up there means HSDPA, which is commonly known as 3.5G for internet access, sometimes it will go to 3G again because of low signal or very congested network
I love the update game and hope it continues since it feels like I have a new phone every time a big update comes out. I find it incredible that people complain about SE keeping the promise they made to support the phone for 2 years.
I can whine and complain all day about, how not getting froyo or gingerbread sucks.
But I'm really digging this dualtouch thinggy.
The implementation is not bad as people said it would be, it worked on every app i tried.
And when I think, that Sony Ericsson didn't have to do it, they just did, to make their customers feel a bit better about their device. They lose money, not gain, from releasing software updates, and unlike Nokia, Samsung, RIM, and Apple, u must realise that right now, Sony Ericsson doesn't really have money. Read Financials. So, X10 users should appreciate this, and, heck, they changed their minds about the MT thing, they might just do the same for Froyo or Gingerbread (Call it a hunch).
I just don't agree with your opinion about SE, but it's your point of view.
And is not multitouch, is dualtouch, wich is still good and if you say it works with most apps around, then worth it.
lol, SE doesn't have money??? Do you think that they would be making another two fail phones ( PSP Phone and Xperia Arc ) if they didn't have the money?
The costumers should NOT have to read financial repports on the companies before they decide what device they should buy...!!
IF I was S/E i would actually fight with every thing i got, to give the customers a feeling that I didn´t just want to screw them...
S/E is failing big on this, any X10 buyer with just a little tech sence absolutly have to feel that they have been ****ed by S/E...
Compare S/E with eg. HTC that deliver updates far beond what can be expected to the handsets...
S/E will not even support the X10 line for one year...
Quick question: After the statement that X10 won't get anything beyond Eclair, how many X10 unities would SE sell?
Just a question to those guys who are into financial estimates and stuff like that.

Yet ANOTHER question
Sony Ericsson ( or any company that's involved in Android ) will not care about their previous Handsets in terms of MAJOR updates, they will look forward and learn from the past, of course they will support the X10 if bugs were discovered later, but they have done what they have promised...

Those three phone were a mistake in my opinion, not because of their specs nor the hardware, but just because of the software ( symbian OS, UIQ )
They had a couple of more updates for them, but they cannot do more with symbian OS. But as far as I know they have fix major and minor bugs in those three ( I owned two of them ) still using Aino as a second phone
As a vivaz pro owner, I will tell you now, that if I was SE, I wouldn't bother my self with symbian anymore either.
UIQ in my opinion was the best implementation of symbian, then nokia tricked MOAP, and UIQ, into selling their shares, in the guise of hey, let's unify symbian. Then what happened, symbian was overly nokiarised.
When google improves android, they share, when Nokia updates S60v5, they go, well ur on ur own dudes. You know this.
Why do u think samsung got pissed last year and dropped all support for symbian.
Too bad, I really wanted to get a Satio about 2 years ago and an Aino 1 year ago
Seriously, don't get me wrong. I love my Xperia X10, but I now this phone CAN do more than SE rules. I think it isn't about getting Froyo (that won't happen, so ppl stop that, or unlocking the bootloader), but at least we should get an update to make this phone even better.
They say .24 update is good, I don't have it yet so I need to proof it. And this kind of updates like dualtouch are helping, but I think isn't enough yet. That's all.

What about Nokia and the Maemo project? Maemo is a good OS. I'd like to see SE experimenting with it in the future (would I be asking for too much?)

Dude, I know what I'm saying, and just so you know, you don't really have to have money as a business to make something, that's were losses and bankruptcy come from.
Let me put it into perspective for you.
HTC Q4 profit, 500 million dollars.
Samsung mobile Q4 profit, 1 BILLION dollars
Apple Q4, sit down for this one, 6 billion dollars
Sony Ericsson, the whole 2010, 90 million dollars.
It's so difficult for them to make profits, that if they splashed cash, they suddenly be in the red.
I'm not making excuses for them, but people should look at things from all angles.
How many updates do Samsung phones get with their billions, they have enough money to hire every single XDA developer for a year.

I agree with you, maemo is very good. But then, Nokia has more or less dumped it for meego, and it barely has apps.

So, basically Maemo needs more developing, I think it might become an important competitor in the handset market. Hey SE devs, listen carefully, you have one more option beyond Android

Sony Ericsson's aim for the X10 is to make as solid as possible, and I have to say they managed to do so, compared to my Galaxy Tab 2.2...
the .24 is a very reliable update, right now I am waiting for the official update for the Dual-touch in UK so I can try and and see what happens..

Customers shouldn't read financials, agreed, but informed customers like u and I should. If u didn't want to know as much of ur phone and brand as u could, u wouldn't be on XDA.
HTC made in one quarter, over 5 times what SE made in a year, that means bigger workforce, more programmers, more updates.
Sony Ericsson had to lay off thousands just to make a measly profit. And fighting tooth and nail is what got them into that mess, remember when made phones that had insane specs for their time, K700, S700, W800, K750, K800, the P series, the list is endless. Techies like us loved those phones, but they cost money to make, and didn't sell as much.
So I think they are tired of fighting tooth and nail, they just want to survive.
And their new range is NICE.
Arc for my MTN line.
Xperia Play for my Etisalat line.
Mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

I can't see any reasons for them to go and try Maemo..
They will need:
-More resources ( Devs and Techs ), which leads into spending more money
-More time to get to know the OS
-Pay Nokia to use their Maemo OS
It will not end up good for them, especially since it came from Nokia.....
