Captivate source code - Captivate Android Development

Does Samsung host the kernel source code somewhere like HTC does?
And anyone knows what kind of radio chipset it uses? The spec only shows Intrinsity S5PC110 as the application chipset. I guess it is using the Qualcomm MSM?

There are a few threads that discuss the radios in the captivate on these forums, but I'll let you do the searching for that.

[INFO]JN101

Just to put this out there.. JN101 is mentioned as a product model in various source files and configs.. it seems to have the new tegra2 3d (t25) proc.. Its called the Journey..
cat /system/etc/projectmap.conf reveals this.. I took a look at it before, but that was when I was browsing the 2.2 'dev' rom.. So yup..
I don't care if this thread is incorporated into some FAQ or deleted.. just some info for those who were wondering (in threads that are in this forum.. not general.. hence posting this here). General is the last place i'd look if i was wondering what the hell JN101 was.
as a bonus round.. it looks like the output for the nvram of the broadcom board is in the /system/etc/ dir.. doesn't really seem to be a conf file, but i could be wrong.. it could actually set values.. they are kind of cryptic.
pa0maxpwr=74 is the one that most people would be interested in.. its also the most self explainatory.
Journey will have a 64GB option

This link was posted on the ASUS Facebook - Perhaps this could be the Journey?

This is actually a good thread for development, I think. I will just tag it as [INFO] in the name and leave it here...

Is there going to be a North America S III forum?

Like the One X since chipsets are different.
i would think there will be one for each version
Its currently under discussion, at minimum the S4 USA variants should get there own development section.
Nothing official as of yet, but they should get there own home
This thread is where you should ask for new device forums in there future though.
Closing this now, as thats all you should need to know

[Q] [Request] Make a "How-To" to unlocking the Exynos Cores

Hello.
After doing a quite a bit of research I found a group that is currently making it possible to use all 8 cores at the same time. I may have said that simply enough however this is quite a feat what they are doing.
I first found out through another thread on this forum.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191850
In the last section of the OP, he speaks of this group and this particular agenda. I am very tech savy however I am clearly stating that this is beyond me when dealing with kernels. Which is why I come to you. This group has made a public release of a kernel build that will enable all 8 cores.
http://www.linaro.org/downloads/
-Under Kernel(Linux-Linaro presumably)
As this isn't my field of expertise, I am requesting, in lamens terms, how to implement the activation of all 8 cores.
I thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Sincereless
I've already been working on this and have ported MCPM parts over over a month ago - It's still inherently not possible due to hardware and the CCI. I mention this in the big bold red part in the very thread you link.
From what I understood in your OP. You explained it as if it's only a software limitation. I took 3 rereads to understand this, which is clearly outside my field of expertise.
So your thread explains what could happen if it was just the software that needed tweaking, however it's the hardware that needed fixed first. Then my question to you is what is the Linaro group working on? Are they tackling this issue for when a product comes out that only needs the software of the big-little cpu redesigned?
Could you give me a simple step by step list of the problems that would need to be addressed both hardware and software? I'm very interesting in the development of this.

FM Tuner G2 discussion. Is it possible to activate?

One of the main selling points of the G2 was the FM Tuner which I saw several references to in my research on various spec and unboxing sites (will try to add links). I was dimayed to find it removed on my carrier and had seen conflicting info about its history after purchase. I had stopped thinking about it until today when a service discovery program listed a non-started s3ervice called: .com.broadcom.fm.fmreciever.Fmservice
This renewed my hope that it could be reenabled through software, that it might be built into the radio module. I'm aware carriers use different radio bands but when comparing specs I saw no indication they used a different module, just turned on some bands. I know the images and reviews I saw may have been from a global or dev version or an early showoff release, but I was hoping this thread could help to sort this out. I will try to update with links when I know I won't lose what I typed. I have searched through this forum and threads and found nothing specific on this topic, I am pretty new here so thank you.
Questions should be in Q and A... assuming it's a question.
Perhaps you could be more clear what you are asking for.
I have working fm on my 80210a-eur
u probably just have to install the apk

Vulkan api? On this device?

Hi, I would like to know if there is any possibility of porting the VULKAN api to the gpu of our galaxy j5 phone, it's just a question, thanks for reading it.
Don't make posts with all CAPS or big font, that wont make people to help you.
Adreno 300 series doesn't support Vulkan, see it here:
