There are some CAB. files for your Herald. They work on other devices and on Herald also!!! You should know what they are for when seeing their names!
The CommButton-Toggle-Vibrate-Fix: After installing this, you can switch your Herald into Vibration Mode by Comm.button (press an hold in 3 seconds)
Dateandtime.cab: Date and time will be displayed both on the taskbar but depend on you, you want them to be shown all the time or only on Today screen.(settings=> system=> clock & alarm=> more...)
WM VI Batti: Your battery life is displayed on the top of taskbar. Very nice!
HTC_X-Button: Is this the same function as whats included in the HTC roms. Same but more functions! This is new version!
Soft Key Applet: this allow to change the softkeys.
Have fun!

First and formost thanks for posting all these great files. I hope this thread continues to grow. I really like the audio manager cab; it is much improved over the audio manager that came with my herald. However I have a few questions on the files included by the OP.
The CommButton-Toggle-Vibrate-Fix: What exactly does it fix? My function seems to work perfectly.
Dateandtime.cab: I am assuming this is the date and time on the task bar all the time?
WM VI Batti: I have no idea what this is for
HTC_X-Button: Is this the same function as whats included in the HTC roms?
Soft Key Applet: I assume this allows one to change the softkeys.
Could someone please elaborate on these cabs?
Phone Pad t9 input
Even though we have a very nice keyboard it's not always practical. For quick texts this works great.

I tried the Audio Booster file on my Wizard and it changed the skin on HTC Audio Manager. It also wouldn't allow me to check the box to activate the equalizer, so there was no sound change. Can someone check to see if there are extra settings needed to make this work?

After installing this, at first you tip on the small frame 'Equalizer' than you choose the type of equalizer (classic, normal, bass Booter...) on the under frame and than the frme on the right. it allows you to change and activate the equalizer!

Actually it did not work on my P4350, tha's why I did not introduced to you all. Maybe it works on some others, but not mine!

Seems to work fine on mine. As to your earlier post answering my questions about the cab files. My 4350 has always went into vibrate mode when pressing the comm button. Perhaps earlier roms didn't.

Sorry but it still doesn't work. The box next to the equalizer cannot be checked and furthermore, when the settings are changed on the equalizer, the sound does not change. My gut feeling is that some registry settings are missing, but I don't have a Herald, so I have no idea if this is device specific or not.
I auto-soft reset my Touch at 2 am.
When the title screen for WM comes up that music wakes me up...
How do I disable the WM6 Startup Sound?
Thanks!
I found the culprit = PhoneOn.wav.
I tried deleting the Key for the .wav in HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\StartupAnimation
but did not work.
I also tried to delete PhoneOn.wav with Total Commander but its protected from deletion in some way....aaaaargh!
Please help
I would like to no how to. I do the same thing.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\StartupAnimation\Enabled
Set it to 0 for off, 1 for on.

Are the registry edits you making actually getting written? Are you powering off the device after making the edits or just soft resetting?
Verify that the changes are made after booting by reviewing the entries again.

Slim,
I rebooted and the entry is getting written. I then soft reset and that darn music is still playing -- are you on a Touch (Vogue)??
thanks
This worked for me
This is what I just did, seems to work fine.
1) Use Total Commander to search for the registry key which contains sound_on.
or browse to
\HKCU\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction\CDMA\FlightModeOnOff\Sound_on
2) Change the content of that key from "SoundOn.wav" to "silence.wav"
3) Done.
I now get a nice and quiet soft reset. I'm using the HTC Touch / Vogue.
Leon.
Sorry dude, I am using a Tilt. I pulled the reg keys from the ROM kitchen I use to build my ROM; however, I HATE the stupid startup animation and sound, so I never cook it in to my builds.
The calls for your startup animation must be somewhere else.
Try ibloo's solution...I will look around a bit and see if I can find out why those reg edits I suggested don't work for you.

FOR HTC PURE,
Here is how to replace the annoying AT&T startup noise with any sound file of your own choice:
Edit the registry at following location:
[HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCAnimation]
Change StartupWav to any other wav files.
Remember..
When you are making changes to the registry...
-exit the registry editor
-give it a good 10 seconds or so, then hit the power button (to blank the screen). This allows the registry settings to bake/get applied.
-Then, do a soft reset.
Else.. if you do it too quick, the changes may not apply/stick.

Hi Chemist
Found this one but what I really want is NO sound at all. How do I achieve that? Can I just remove the reference to the existing .WAV file or do I have to replace it with a .WAV that is empty, ie, no sound? If that is the case do you know where I can get hold of one or how I could make one?
Thanks in advance.

Here you go. Use this cab and it will give you no sound. For those that want to do it without a cab
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCAnimation]
"StartupWav"="\\Windows\\none"

hello
have anyone figured out how to make the ringtone rings earlier
im really messed up with this problem i really hate it
i searched all over the place and i got few solutions and the biggest was this :

and none of them was helpful .. please i need help
Yes, the cab works. If you want more information on what's happening, it's a registry tweak.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=RegistryRingtoneScripts
Haven't tried looking for it, since the cab file "fixed" the "problem". The first ring will be "broken" as the phone wakes up and loads the phone app, but rings afterwards will sound fine.
And no, the ringtone does not have to be a wav file.
Oh, and use the "normal" file.
Well, had a look at the registry entry, and it's there. You can change your ringstyle to whatever you want by changing the script.

Hi Guys,
I've been doing a bit of research about removing the T-Mobile (or any) operator name from my handset/homescreen etc..and have found a number of different apps that can do this. For example Personalizer:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=359563
which seems to work well exept that it seems to be draining my battery heavily as I beleive that it is an 'always-on' app.
Therefore I've removed it and am looking to do a similar thing via a reg-tweak so as not to need anything running in the background. Before I get flamed for posting an often asked question, I have searched a few other threads for other handsets that have similar registry files as the HD2 and have found some similarites but nothing has worked yet:
http://forum.treonauts.com/palm-smartphones/treo-750/8695-treo-750-registry-tricks-tips-2.html
I've found the CarrierName string in HKLM/Software/Microsoft/RIL folder but altering it with the mobile network code (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_Network_Code), doesn't seem to have any effect.
I'm on T-Mobile UK and I beleive my network code is 23034 but I just need to know where to use it and/or if the function is available to me with this phone yet? If anyone can shed any light and or knows a way of doing it without installing any potentially battery draining software apps, it would be much appreciated.
Happy New Year!!

I found my battery draining a lot quicker with it installed. So you use it yourself and haven't had any problems? Either way, if there was just a reg-tweak I could do myself without installing anything, that's what I'm looking for.
Thanks

I have used it before and have not noticed a differnce in battery life.
The REG key it changes every startup is:
HKLM\System\State\Phone\"Current Operator Name"
Change it to whatever you like but be aware it changes back every soft reset, hense why personalizer runs at every startup.

I use the awesome tweak from MysticGenius (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=577928) and it works fine for me.
Oh and your carrier string value should be 23430 , have no idea how to get rid of the 3G infront of the Scuderia Ferrari though

Yes 23430, I had it right but wrote it wrong I tried MysticGenius's tweak already but couldn't find the 'OperatorNames' file. I tried altering CarrierName and also tried making my own string but it made no difference. What did you change xavierdemon?
Thanks
All I have in the Reg is:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\RIL\OperatorNames
And inside that I have a string value "23415"="Scuderia Ferrari" that's all. Obviously for you it would be "23430"="Whatever text you want"
HTH
No Joy
Ok Xavier,
I did that but no luck unfortunately. I created an OperatorNames file because it didn't exist in the RIL folder and put:
''23430''=''My Message''
as the string, but there was no change at all. I rebooted and tried again but still no difference. Any suggestions?
Thanks
I don't know what to suggest except maybe leaving a message on MysticGenius' tweak post and see if he knows why it's not working for you. Or see if someone can build a CAB for you to input the reg entires, I did try to have a go myself at making the CAB but it's not working at all.
As mentioned in the subject. Am new to wp7 on hd2. Wanted to know if there is any way I can stop my hd2 going haywire vibrating every time i click on a folder in touch explorer or registry editor or advanced config ..etc ..etc. etc .... And is there anyway I can increase the lousy in call volume..Its really getting to be an issue...I can hardly hear or make myself be heard while talking on the phone which kinda screws up the point of having a cell in the first place.... Why are there no options for editing the in call volume , media volume and ringtone separately as in android??? Help will be appreciated ... Thanks

So, no solution to the awful crackling sound of some ringtones (not all of them). I am running the HD2O 2.00b ROM and has been running flawlessly in all other aspects.
