Hello everyone,
I am using a CM6 Rom on my HTC Magic 32B. Trying to access the keyboard calibration tool, which is supposed to be under
locale & text -> touch input
I only have a menu called "Language & Keyboard", in which I can choose
- The Android Stock keyboard
- Better Keyboard (installed)
- HTC_IME mod(installed WITH clicker.apk!!!)
No touch input / calibration there or in any of the submenus.
From what I understand, the clicker.apk is supposed to deliver this feature.
I am currently using the clicker.apk for 1.5 / 1.6,
since the highres version of htc_ime didn't seem to work.
Typing with any of the keyboards without calibration is a pain in the butt,
so any ideas are greatly appreciated
Me too.... same issue. I'm looking for a solution cuz this virtual keyboard sucks.

Hi all,
I don't like Diamond's QWERTY input method and would like to move them out from the first page for input method selection screen. Is there anyway to do it?
I tried to use registry to disable the 2 QWERTY input methods along with the phone pad input method. But when I pull up the input selection screen, their original buttons will become black buttons
If there is no way to change the input method order, then is there anyway to disable QWERTY flawlessly?
Please help.
anyone know?

+1 I have a qwerty keyboard on FRENCH AZTOR v6 ROM?
But normaly a AZERTY...
Strange problem: I've search google and here at xda, but find nothing even close.
Discovered the answer in the event others experience this strange situation: Download "sipchange" (google). It nailed this perfectly.
The keyboard defaulted to compact mode about a week after I received the phone. I hard reset (ROM version 1.14.405.3) and did not install any applications, anticipating perhaps a program conflict was my problem. After two days is did the same thing.
The only thing I've tried is changing input methos in the settings node. After I choose full QWERTY (or any other keyboard selection) and select OK, the settings default on compact.
Anyone know the registry setting to force the keyboard to full QWERTY? Maybe this is a known issue....
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Still no joy - I installed Touchpal 3.5, however the in input selection for Touchpal 3.5 will not take either.
Edit: Cleared ROM - flashed firmware. This defaults to full QWERTY. I then installed Touchpal 3.5, but my HD would not change to the touchpal keyboard after selecting options and rebooting.
Might this may be a hardware/keyboard mapping problem?
Yes, I have issues with this too.
I use two particular input methods: Block recognizer (I'm an ex-Palm user) and SBP Keyboard. I have to select which to use, using the input selection pop-up menu, which appears next to the keyboard icon under the keyboard.
Problem is I want to customise that menu as the default options (Touch input settings, Phone Keypad, Compact QWERTY, full QWERTY and other input methods>) only leave room for one other option.
Any ideas ?
Many thanks.
Hy Guys,
Is there a possibility to get the default Keyboard installed on the Desire? I really like this keyboard and would like to have it back without installing a Non-Sense ROM. Can anyone help me? By the way. It has to be a german layout.
If you mean the default black android keyboard it's already on your desire. Just click in whatever text input field so that your keyboard pops up. Then long-press the input field. Now a menu will popup in which you can choose "Input Method". If you select that you can switch between all installed keyboards on your phone. The stock desire rom has the HTC and default Android keyboards installed.
If I do this I only get the method Touch Input. If I go to the settings I also just get the settings for Touch Input, which is the HTC Keyboard. Did I make a mistake?
I just downloaded Liberty 1.5 and there isn't an input option in the "Languages and Keyboards" setting so I can't change my keyboard (I'm using the Android keyboard by default but I want to change it to Gingerbread). Has anyone had this same problem? Any suggestions on what to do?
Long press any text entry field and you can change input method from there.
Hi all,
I've been playing around with my wife's MS2, running Tezet's CM10. I've been trying to get her phone to be able to have two seperate keyboard layouts for the physical keyboard, namely English (QWERTY) and Hebrew.
So far the only solution I've found is to use AnySoftKeyboard with the Hebrew plugin from the market which allows me to change the layout on the soft keyboard and then when I pull out the physical keyboard the layout remains as selected. Any other keyboard (stock or otherwise) that I've tried reverts back to QWERTY when using the physical keyboard, although once I shut it the soft keyboard remains as selected.
Isn't there any way to have the same behaviour as AnySoftKeyboard on the stock keyboard or even better, on Swiftkey? Or some other way of doing it?
Thanks for any help!
Edit: Posted here and not on the CM10 thread because this has been the case on every ROM I have tried...
