Volume - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I saw a post somewhere but now I can't find it. Has anyone gotten meltus louder volume hack to work on any of the builds yet. It does ask for for root access. And I granted it root permissions but nothing changes. Any light on the subject would be great.

In Android Market, it says "Does not work on 2.1+" and then it proceeds to list a bunch of example devices. Well, that would be you.

Funny Guy I know what it says but I swear someone said they got it working

[Q] HTC.PRO.THREE android 2.2?

Hi. I've got a pre released hd2 called HTC.PRO.THREE with 320 Ram only.
I'm wondering if there's a chance to install android 2.2 on it.
thanks in advance
Well you dont actually "install/on" it, You simply boot it from your SD card so it would rely on the drivers of teh pro 3 been same as HD2, of that im not sure.
Just try and see what happens, If it isn't compatible it simply wont boot, it wont do any harm to the phone itself.
I just tried to boot darkstone SuperRAM FroYo v1.5 rom. the screen went black as it suppose to and it got stuck saying "jumping to kernel" or something like that the letters are too small to read it.
any idea?
I've seen another thread asking the same question as this and the answer he got was that the pre release hd2 and the final release are too diferrent to make hd2 builds work on the pre release sorry
I also found that the prototype one has got different memory mapping and it is not possible to have any king of android os on those type of devices.

I use Cyanogen mod 7 and it is perfect , but led issue remains ...
For me the same Mdj 46
ok but i've tested Cyanogen Mod7 and the rom just freezes in the homescreen without any touch respons....I like the Cyanogen Mod rom cause its fast..
I've gotten practically every SD android build to work perfectly for me while dualbooting wp7. You do realize you have to edit the init.rc file in most builds to make it compatible with magldr, right? There's a thread on it in the SD android section. If there's any specific build you want that you can't get working, pm me and I'll see if I have it work. I've gotten 12 out of 13 builds I've tried to work great.

I tried it with SuperRam and after welcome wizard, it shows black screen. I reset multiple times and it never loads again, just shows black screen after HTC logo. I'd prefer to use ram rom to save wear and tear on the sd card, so is there a step I am missing?
There's a newinitrd.gz that I deleted when I put the edited initrd.gz file in Android folder. Should I keep that in there? I have HSPL 2.08 and 2.14 radio.

I can`t run Darkstone SuperRAM v1.5. Help:]

Hi guys, I have to create another threat, because my last one was moved to other category and I can`t reply it because I`m new in forum.
So here is the problem.
I`ve just bought HD2, and of course I want to try android SD ROM. Someone advised me that Darkstone SuperRAM v1.5 is fast stable and works good, so I tried to run it. I`ve done everything what instruction said in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870518
But nothing works. I run CLRCAD file and then HARET and I get stuck on black screen. In upper left corner are words:
"HaRET boot
Shutting down hardware
In preloader
...
Jumping to Kernel (custom)... "
Can any1 help me and tell what to do? Did I forget something to do before running android?
Looking forward for your answers,
Sorry of bad English.
Your first post was probably moved because you posted in the wrong place - which you've now done again. If you have a question about a particular build then post in that ROM thread in the right forum.
I have the same build running fine on my HD2 and I suspect you did not fully read the instructions on how to install it, nor the rules on posting here.
But also I can`t post even there, I can post only in my threads.
I tried other sd ROM but it also not worked. Maybe I have a lack of RAM memory? It says I have free 190MB. My HD2 is not T-mobile version.
Or maybe my sd card is to little? (1GB).
Are you sure you have the current stock rom version installed?
Your card is too small. And I bet you need to update the radio on your phone.

[Q] Newb Questions (long Post)

I have been reading the forums for about 3 weeks now and am having some trouble understanding some things. I have an unlocked t mobile HD2 that I'm using on AT&T (edge only of course) I want to flash WP7 to it to get more familiar with it before I purchase a Titan when its finally released. I am not unfamiliar with cooking I had a dell streak 5 that I cooked. However, after reading through so many posts I am somewhat confused..the only functions that I care about are battery life, WiFi and windows marketplace (read the posts on activation for that) I have 2 sandisk class 2 micro SD cards one 4gb and one 8gb. Which ROM is a more complete ROM the DFT or Yuki. Do I have to use the 8gb SD for storage or will the 4 suffice. My apologies for this post but between the regions and country's and different radios and cab edits and such there seems to be no real simple direction for me to begin this. I'd hate to brick it on the first attempt.
This phone is bone stock and has never been flashed.
OS 5.2.21913
ROM 3.14.531.1
RDO 2.15.50.14
Here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1236027
and here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1246040
Step by step, everything you need to know.
Battery life is better with less content, but fairly crap on all ROMS, you wont get your stock hours with any of the ROMs
Both the 4gb and 8gb should suffice.
I agree with Stepthehen, yuki anf xbmod's 'Back to the future' Rom is the way forward considering it can be updated via zune when further updates are released and it should be a simple process as i updated through zune all the way after installing v2 native rom
Before you do anything get HSPL on your phone to prevent it from being Bricked

I used this video to flash win7 for the first time ..hope this helps

[Q] Suggestion for dual boot

Hi guys! I need an advice both from Windows and Android users.
I used to run Gingerbread on my Leo (NexusHD2 by Tytung) with nativeSD, and I didn't update to ICS or JB because I didn't want it to become laggy (I suppose they are heavier than GB).
Yesterday, my sdcard got broken (actually it became write-protected for no reason on earth, and I couldn't find any way to unlock it or format it, even though I tried with every solution I found on the internet), so I just bought a new one, which will arrive tomorrow; I've read on xda that class4 Sandisk cards are the best ones for smartphones, because they have a higher random speed, whereas class6 and class10 have higher sequential speed but lower random speed. So I bought a 32GB Sandisk class4.
ANDROID PART
1) Now, given that card, do you think I will be able to run smoothly Jellybean (if I find a good stable ROM)? Or do you think it is just too heavy? (If I'm not mistaken ICS, JB, Kitkat are all optimized for multi-core CPUs, and we have a single core with relatively low ram...)
2) If you think I can update to JB without having lags as soon as I install a few apps, would you recommend me a good, stable and fast nativeSD ROM? I'm looking for something very basic, without built-in apps or other crap, I just want the simple, original OS and I will install apps that I need later.
WINDOWS PHONE PART
Since I'll have plenty of space now, with 32GB, I thought to give Windows Phone a shot, since I use Windows 8 on my laptop and I've been told that WP is a very light and not power-demanding OS.
So my idea is a dual boot through nativeSD with Android as favourite OS (since it's the one I'm used to) and WP as second OS, to see if it can fit my needs.
Could you recommend me a good, stable and fast nativeSD ROM? I'm looking for something very basic, without built-in apps or other crap, I just want the simple, original OS and I will install apps that I need later. Besides, is there a stable WP8 for HD2 or just WP7?
Thank you very much for any help. I hope to come to a decision today because tomorrow I'll get the new sdcard and I want to do ll the flashing in one time, without having to repartition the sdcard later
hi
i dual booted my hd2 a while ago.
if u want my opinion, windows phone will not come in use.
but! i still have it on my phone.
i use hd2o as winphone and tytung's nexusHD2 v2.7 (android 4.2.2) as nativeSD android. (i have a 16gb toshiba class 4 microsd card)
there is no winphone 8 available so far, and since DFT and a lot of developers are no longer supporting HD2, i dont think it will be available ever!
A lot of people use pedijamas winphone and say its awesome, but i haven't, and i have no time to switch.
kitkat is still beta, and some features do not work. A few days ago I installed nexusHD2 v3.3 (android 4.3) on my friends phone (nand, CLK sandisk 8gb class 10) and it was great.
but!!!!
my android is not that good. its slow and laggy.
conclusion:
1. Do not install winphone and magldr. instead install CLK and android (nexusHD2 is great, i think v2.7 is still better than v3.3)
2. Install winphone, and android. (i suggest install a few androids and see which one works better, i think 2.3.3 will be better though)
3. Install winphone alone, its fast, and by fast, i mean like FAAAST! but, its not android, so apps and ui will make u sick after a while! :S

Thank you for the reply! A few questions:
1a. In Tytung's v3.3, are the WiFi and 3G/HSPDA traffic indicator arrows in the status bar still not working or did he fix them?
1b. Why not magldr? I thought it would be better since it allows to "unlock" the 576MB RAM in EU HD2s (and I see that Tytung himself uses magldr )
2. Is WinPhone available just in NAND? No nativeSD ROMs?

1a: i'm not sure, since i use nexushd2 v2.7, and it works just fine. (also i don't think its a big deal! i never noticed those arrows!)
1b: i dont know how did you find out that tytung uses magldr!!!! i my self use magldr, its great. but i believe if you just want to use android, CLK is a better option. new roms (4.2.2, 4.3, 4.4) wont fit on nand, so you have to make an ext4 partition and put your data on sd. just your system partition goes to nand, so i think it doesn't make any difference to unlock 576MB RAM. and also i don't know if CLK unlocks it or not! (sorry for my lack of info!)
2: i know this one!!!! )
nope, WinPhone is just available on nand, sadly!

Thanks again! Eventually I asked directly to Tytung and he answered me that it was just an aesthetic thing and the he wouldn't fix it because Google themself removed them in the following versions. I installed the v3.3 and so far it's GREAT (like every Tytung's work)!
I guess he's using MAGLDR from what he writes at the end of his threads, but it's just a guess. Anyway, I'm forced to use nativeSD because some time ago I had continuous crashes even after Task29 and fresh install of Tytung ROMS, so I guess I have some bad blocks in my NAND after 4 years of heavy usage. I hoped to give WP a shot because I've read it's blazing fast, but I'll be happy with my JB 4.3 CM 10.2

see, nexusHD2 is still awesome!
lucky me! i never had any problem with my nand!
if you have to use nativesd, it makes no difference if u use magldr or clk.
if you want to install WP, you have to install MAGLDR, but the problem is that it will wipe your sd and partition it to an unknown partition type. so back up your data before ding so!
have fun.
if i helped, i'm glad!
