Dear all
I have Q.
My LEO dies since week now and dose not switched on anymore and if I put it on the charger dose not charge .. and i send it to the HTC to be fixed and it under warranty and i was HSPL it and i did installed Cooked Rom on it
my Q is do you think if there is Failure in the main board .. is it easy for HTC to know that this LEO had HSPL and cooked Rom ?
Thank you for your replay
what happened? water? microwave?
did it turn off itself? or was the battery low?
take the battery out for some minutes/hours and see if it helps.
DN41
sounds like tmous meets 51 radio, in which case you should have no problem getting it replaced, many people have done it no problem.
Guys thank you for replay
No water .. nothing just long vibration then i removed the bat the i did install it again then the mobile did not turned on from that time .. i did try everything with no hope
by the way i was having Radio 50 not 51

After installing a new rom ,my polaris died ,no lights not recharging , I removed the battery, the SD and the sim card for > 24hrs and still the usb is not recognised and no lights at all and also not recharging any solution????
Hold camera button, and turn the phone on.. then you will get the hard spl boot screen..
After this you can flash a new rom.

do you have anything on the screen at all? or is the screen off as well?
try to be more specific please if you want to fix the problem:
What rom were you trying to flash?
do you have hardspl?
are you an experienced user or a novice?
was the battery fully charged?
did it flash completely and give you a message telling you it was successful?
is anything coming on at all?
is it under warranty still?
if you supply at least this information you will have a better chance that someone can help you fux it fast.
best of luck.
Venigo Thank u for your reply I tried this and tried many things before post ,no response.
bally3 Thank u for your reply I'll try to be more specific:
This happened after I flashed new Parcvello extreme rom.
I had a hard spl
I'm an experienced user
The battery was not fully charged and after flashing the rom I opened my polaris and it worked for 3 minutes after that it died.
No thing is coming at all
The warrenty period finished 6 months back
Thank u for your wiching best luck

My first advice is to try another battery. I cant see it being rom or flash related though its quite possible its hardware related and would need service centre attention.
Try a new battery. since you say nothing is coming on at all, I take it theres no power at all to it. You can try another battery or ask someone to test the battery for you using a meter to see if theres any charge in the battery itself.
When you say not fully charged I hope you mean like 40% and not 20% before flashing.
Did you get through all the setup before it crashed? Not that important but just trying to get a picture of what was happening when it went off.
if all else fails if you got it on contract you could ring them and ask them to look at it. If it isnt on contract then might be worth biting the bullet and seeing how much a repair centre would charge to fix it. You should at least be able to get a free estimate.
it can't be the battery, since the phone can work via the net with the battery out, even if the phone is off.

You are responsible of wasting 3 minutes of my life testing your theory...
Polaris wont work without battery as i predicted...at least mine wont...
So the battery might still be a possibility as mentioned above...
I dont see any other possibility beyond hardware failure.I tested all PCarvalho´s xtreme ROM´s and never had problems beyond software issues and he flashed the ROM and it was ok for 3 minutes as he said...at least bootloader would kick in.
Thank u all for your reply : I didn't mention that PCarvalho 's Rom is the cause I'm sure it isn't.
My second step is changing the battery and I 'll till you about the progress.
Still the same proplem after i tested the battery which is charged
in that case its a repair centre job then unfortunately...sorry to say.
Do any body knows where is the HTC repair centre in Cairo,Egypt
actually i had a similar problem. polaris totaly dead. then i discovered, that the sim slot thingy didn't "click in" properly. that solved my problem.
Bricked my blackstone, cannot charge, cannot turn on or enter bootloader. Wondering if there's anyway to unbrick besides JTAG. Thanks for any help.
have you tried leaving out the battery for a few minutes and then enter bootloader? And how did you brick it?
if you have the bootloader hspl on i find it hard that you managed to brick it, your phone might be damaged. have you tried to charge the battery or replacei t with one with power in and start up?
i let my brother use the phone for a while and somehow it came back to me in this state. I've tried leaving the battery out overnight, charging with original cable, zapping the battery with 9v & exposed USB, and also buying a new battery.
I think your the phone is totally dead if there is no charging LED light and the phone will not turn on.
See - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=697568&highlight=totally+dead
i had a similar problem..
there is no charging taking place, no screen display, but if u hold the power key long enough u get a vibration nd then the boot up sound but nothing on screen. leave it that way and after sometime screen starts workin..
found that the problem is something related to "microp error" which is strangely neither a hardware error nor a software error. some people reported that a complete disassembly and reassembly resolved their problem but tht too did not work in my case..
htc said they needed to replace the motherboard, but m outta warranty so m not getting it done.
neways best luck for ur fone
cheers
Thanks for all the input, it's pretty clear that the phone is dead and since i'm out of warranty i will be having the motherboard replaces. I guess you'll see a thread in marketplace for my hd as parts...
Unfortunatly , the same problem occured to me 2 days ago :/ .. the phone was working great , i just removed an application , installed another one and played the monopoly game for like 2 hours . when i finished playing i locked the phone.. tried to unlock it again , the screen didnt work , i tried charging it , the LED didnt work , i removed the battery, restarted the phone .. i heard the login sound but the screen didnt work too.
However, 4-5 hours later i gave it another try ... everything worked fine .. but the same problem occured when i locked it
I am not out of warranty date .. but am pretty sure they will remove my warranty when they find out that i used that permenant spl thingy + a cooked rom
and since an old nokia 7710 Motherboard costs 1700 ep in egypt ( $ 310 ) i cant afford to change the HDs one
anyway, as a last try ... is there anything i can do if i manage to open the phone again? change the rom maybe? oh .. and btw can i change the HSPL back to the stock one + installing a stock rom? maybe then they wouldnt cancel my warranty
oh and whats JTAG ?
thnx in advance for ur replies
Dear Fady
First of All change the HSPL back to the stock one and after installing a stock ROM i am sure your problem will solved.
if you got any information's regarding the JTAG please post here.
Regards
Shahid
I have owned a few Leo's myself, flashed cooked roms, ran SD android on all of them. I flawlessly have run two different phones for months with NO radio issues, no "SOD", zero problems.
However, I am now working with my newest HD2 and had a traumatic failure...
I have a 1024 leo on TmoUS and was running Motoman234 EVO Black&Blue Remix, and for the first time, I installed it to SD without modifying anything else at all. Stock WinMo rom, Stock radio, etc. Up until last night I had zero issues with it.
I decided to change my radio for reception purposes. Installed HSPL3 without any issues, then when I ran CustomRUU to update radio, both screens went to 100 percent, then my Leo went black.
I mean black. Keys wont light up, Charge indicator LED wont light, screen is black, phone is TOTALLY unresponsive. I have tried everything that has been recommended in other "Bricked HD2" forums, but to no avail.
Can anyone help, or am I buying a new phone today???

Hello Clark,
I'm sorry to inform you this but,
Tmous Leo + Incompatible Radio = Instant Brick .
So if you could provide on which radio you were and what version you were trying to upgrade to you might have بصيص* of hope.
*بصيص = Shaft, ray.
I did a lootttt of research, and found a radio on the master radio thread labeled "TmoUS 1024 Leo" from a list.... The one I downloaded is 2.05.50.11, however I did not write down my previous radio version.... Careless, I know...
Ok, May be it's something minor.
How good was your battery charged before installation ?
Check the battery pins, one might be bent ?
Try to Remove battery for 30 mins then re-insert and charge from wall ?
Otherwise, God shall be with you
Yessir, did all that last night, and decided to go to sleep with battery out (discharged by pressing keys w/o battery) and this morning no change. I was at about 95% battery when I did this, I really think it was the phone, not the software... Ill buy a new one =)
Sincere thanks, Kawazaki, for the help.

Or ,since it's completely dead, you can just send it in for repair and play dumb, It might work .
I'm really sorry for you, and glad that I was -sort of- help .
Yep, dead, sorry to say. The rule is ..50.. radios only for tmous, and like every rule there is an exception. In this case the exception(s) are 2.04.50.x and 2.05.50.x which whilst they are from tmous test /pre production roms, and carry 50 v numbers, they are 51 radios really, from when the tmous roms were being developed on regular hd2's
Unlucky.
hi there all,
a friend of mine is having a problem with his phone. I tried to explain him how to install an android base sistem, he did, but he had a lot of frezes etc.
I put him to make a task29 and after that to install all from the scratch. First was the last radio version which stoped at 96% and stayed there for a long time. He did a reset by pulling the battery off and now the phone is not starting up at all. when you put the battery in it, after a few seconds is starting to vibrate continuously without stoping and it keep it like this maybe untill the battery will be fully drained.
he cannot enter in bootloader, it is not recognised when is pluged in the usb ... practicaly you cannot do anything ... or maybe there is a way and I don't know it.
so please give us some hints. thank you !
If you have flashed a .51 radio and you have a TMoUS HD2 well then the phone is smoke. The only way to fix it is by JTAG and that's a fairly complexed way.
we are talking about europe version not tmous and the radio version was 2.15.50.14 which is correct !
If you dont even get into the boot loader this phone is really f***ed up..
But are you talking about the tri color screen?
i have hd2 since it appeared and I flashed mine for more than 100 times and also my friends come to me to tweak their hd2's, but it seems that my friend did something wrong.
when I taln about bootloader I mean the tricolor screen.
the problem is that the phone screen is black and he cannot do anything, only that anoing continuous vibration !

OK, I think the only thing you could do know is go to your provider and pray for a replacement. Dunno if the change your phone if it is bricked.
Could try saying .. the phone locked up .. I took the battery out ..
and now this is happing .. Give it a try what can they say ?

Would do exactly this. I don't think they're going to strip down the whole phone into pieces just to see why it isn't working. It's an older model so I think they will be fair and give you a new one.
Yup go back to a store or call HTC.
Romania is part of the EU now so the 2 year warranty should be granted.
Check that the battery pins haven't been bent out of place. They can bend very easily and if the pins are not properly aligned the phone can constantly reboot, which may explain the constant vibrations.

He can also just call and say that the phone won't turn on he was charging it over night. And when he woke up to use it, The phone wouldn't turn on he tried the battery in a friend's hd2. It turned his on and you tried your battery in his but didn't work... they will send you a replacement for free Thats what i did 2 months ago when i cracked my screen. And before sending it in i flashed a .51 radio on purpose so it wouldn't turn on. I know it might be a bogus thing to do but i didnt have $130 at the time.
my hd2 is not switching on i tried even with different battery but it is not showing display or switching on, but when i connect it to usb it starts vibrate untill i remove its battery. my pc detects it as HTC hd2 nd installs driver. i gave it to a shop but they didnt find any solution. please help me thanks in advance!!
I think you've flashed a .51 radio and you have a TMoUS phone. There's nothing you can do other than look for somebody who knows how to solder and JTAG the phone.
Make sure you read next time.
