Hello,
I just bought Co Pilot 8 and installed it on my HD2. It only give me Europe maps....do anyone know where I can get the US maps and how to install them? If I can't then how do I get a refund on Microsoft Marketplace?
any Ideas???
please help..
Thanks
did you bought CP8 on the official website? There you can choose which package you like to purchase. so you mabe just took the "wrong" one?
Yea, i bought CP8 off the website and chose the US maps version. Sounds like you need to get a refund and then go buy the correct version.
I choose the one off the Microsoft Marketplace site.....I thought I choose the right one....I did not order it from the official website...does anyone have the cab for the right one?
Thanks
Best You go to Copilot´s website and mail Your request to the support. Expelaon in detail how You purchased Your version.
I had some issues in Dec. 2009 and they were very helpful although I used the special HTC-HD2-version of Copilot which does not have the same support as the "open" version.
For installing maps You don´t need a cab but only the map-files for the region of choice.
Thank you
This was very helpful....I will contact them....
Thanks again

Hey all,
I've got a TELUS CDMA Diamond which doesn't include this app. I'm prepared to buy it, but the downloadable one from their website (1.0d I think?) doesn't actually launch. It installs fine, but doesn't do anything when I run it...it's as though I'm not clicking on the icon.
I think it's because there's a special version for the Diamond. I'm totally wanting to buy it, but I can't even test the version that's publicly available. Is there a link, or could someone IM me re: sharing the install that comes with the Euro Diamond? Not being able to test it or even find it is frustrating me to no end, and I'd rather try it before going the scanr.com route.

Does any one have a demo that I can download, test
Do you mean a demo or a "demo"?
Heheh, nice remark....know what you mean with that
i had the demo and the option to buy it cheaply as it came with my device, but i just deleted it :O i use TomTom so it was no use, ill see if i had any backups of it
CoPilot Live 7
I haven't seen a reply to this in a long time and wondered if anyone has a working demo or "demo" version yet ?
Me too
I have been searching all over, downloading all sorts of crap and getting a million viruses along the way cause i wanna try it before i buy it
I am using TomTom version 6 works great on the Xda Ignito/ HTC Touch Diamond the maps are readly avalible online and it is only 2 cab files you need to install. no need for any copy and paste just install and it works a treat
got it! its rubbish and pointless to get. Get iGO8
Anyone know if the TTN7.910.9185.cab will work on out Titans? I'm a little leery about installing it as I've got the prior version working well and don't want to bork anything by trying the install.
Grabbed the file from here:
http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=13032
Remember, this file is legit as provided in ROM with the TP but posting / talking about maps or voices is warez so isn't kosher!
Thanks in advance if anyone is willing to give it a go!
This version is made for another device and tells you so when trying to install on a Mogul. prior tt7 install otherwise intact.
Thanks for trying... Oh well. I wanted to upgrade my maps by BUYING (not cracking) the newest ones but on some other forums they mentioned a problem with the build I'm using (using 7.450 (9029) build with 720.1803 USA and Canada maps) not allowing the latest maps to be used.
If anyone knows for sure how to purchase the latest maps for this build (like what TomTom Home to use and what maps to purchace) I'd greatly appreciate it.

here is the link you need to buy the maps to run on this tt7 cab
ps....that cab is for the touch diamond.

Thanks as well Liamhere. Unfortunately I need the USA and Canada maps and the link only give UK / Europe / Asia maps.
I have TT Home 1.5 installed and it does give me an option of purchasing the latest maps for the USA. I'm a bit afraid of committing the $70 on purchasing the map as one or two threads talk about needing to upgrade to the latest TT home (2.5 I think) as when I install that version, it doesn't find my Titan.
Does anyone know if the 1.5 version of TT Home will install the latest USA and Canada maps to the Titan if I purchase them?
works for me
7.910 runs fine on my mogul - am using the USA_CANADA 815.2022 map with it.
I know it was developed for the Diamond so my cab version may have been modified to work on non-Diamond. I don't use TTS but the voice does prompt me at turns.
Mule
...so where can we find the latest TTN7 cab for Titan?

Great news, Muledeer, can you post a link to the 7.910 cab and if not point us to where you got it? Oh, Happy New Year!
I own the older TT5 maps. Anyone know if the newer interface works with those old maps?

From what I understand, no. Only Navigator 7 and 8 maps will work with the Diamond cab for the mogul.

Update: Found the cab (google is your friend), installed, ran fine, but TomTom Home 2.5 still can't see my XV6800 meaning I can't legally buy new maps. I even tried TT Home 1.5 and while it could see my poi's it couldn't see my maps or my device (but it did tell me I had a Titan attached, how odd). So......
Unless someone knows how to get TomTom Home 2.5 to see our Moguls, this is a fools errand if you want to stay legal.
/rant
If TomTom wants to stop rampant piracy, they should release Navigator 7/8 for PPC w/o crippling TT Home by locking out all but a few HTC devices!
Oh, please don't ask where I got the cab or files as it will break the TOS of this forum and ultimate goal was to stay legal!
Just a quick question before I upgrade to win 6.5 on my Diamond2. The previous rom had Copilot7 installed and this prevented Copilot 8 to be installed as the previous version had to be removed and being in the rom this was impossible I was lucky enough to have had an older rom that did not have Copilot 7 on it so I was able to upgrade without a problem.
So the question is: does win 6.5 rom have Copilot installed in the rom thus preventing an upgrade to Copilot 8.
Wulls,
Are you talking about the official WM6.5 stock ROM, or a cooked ROM? If you intend to flash the former, then I don't know, but if you will be flashing a cooked ROM then it will not have Copilot 8 installed and you can do a fresh installation without any difficulty.
The official stock rom has CoPilot7 included.
Thanks to all for the quick reply yes it is the official stock rom I would be installing.
That sucks I would have thought with a new rom if HTC would have installed the latest ver. of Copilot.
I don't suppose there is a way around this?

wulls.
It's entirely up to you, but cooked ROMs are miles ahead of stock ones, and from what I've read, the official one is way behind (manila version etc) the current cooked ones. I was hesitant to hard-spl my device and flash a cooked ROM, however it is easily the best the thing I've done with regards to my device - it opens up endless opportunities for having the latest look and feel and being able to customise etc. It is also very safe and almost risk-free if you follow the instructions correctly!
What I'm saying is that you can have Copilot Live 8 quite easily by taking the leap to a cooked ROM (the 'new' price is the same as the 'upgrade' price). I've done both and have no regrets, but it's up to you of course.
SKTools Uninstaller did the job for me....version 8 here I come
Thanks sb09 for the reply I have often thought of going the cooked rom way but I have read here that so many have instability and slowing down problems with the diamond2.
It looks as though I may have to go this way, which means I have lot of reading to do on how to install cooked roms. Do you have any recomendations as which cooked rom I should go for.

wulls,
If you are tempted, then I'd say don't hesitate - just do it (you will not regret it I promise). Just take lots of care initially and follow instructions, and when it's done, you'll say to yourself "well that was much easier than I thought it would be" - bet you!
We each have our our preferences and opinions, and many of us are devotees of one particular chef, though others like to try them all out.
I liked Dutty's ROMs since the days of the Touch Diamond. He churns out updates on a regular basis, listens to user feedback, and takes the safe reliable route of stable ROMS (which would definitely benefit the likes of yourself as a beginner). Others like udk, shadowline etc take more risks and can sometimes be more innovative using the latest builds etc, but these come less stable. Each to their own, but I prefer Dutty ROMs, and would strongly recommend you flash one of his (I stayed on his Leo R3 for a while cause I couldn't fault it, but now I'm on his Leo R6, though he's recently updated to R7 but I don't update mine on every occasion).
Hope this helps a bit. You'll be surprised how easy and safe and reliable it is once you get over the first steps! And you can upgrade to CPL8 of course.
copilot
i updated to win 6.5
it had copilot 7 trial on it so i just went to
start>settings>remove programs
and unistalled it from there
just waiting for copilot 8 to download now, before installing

Bought CP8. BE WARNED. Not all of the features work on the TD2. Some of the live features are greyed out thus reduceing funtionality. Fuel prices, Live local search AND Live Traffic. last one was a bit of a shock considering the money spent! BUT their site does say that CP8 MAY not work with TD2 so you takes your chances. If anybody has a fix especially for the traffic - very interested. Otherwise a graet product that complements your phone!!
Cheers Dave

It has nothing to do with the TD2. Fuel Prices, Live Local Search and Live Traffic have not been released for CP8 yet. They are not there on any device.
It is fully compatible with the TD2, there only may be problems with TD2's that came with CP7 pre-installed as that version can't be uninstalled (easily) stopping the CP8 install from working.
Please see this from ALK...
Thank you for contacting CoPilot Technical Support.
The current version of CoPilot Live 8 that we have on sale is fully compatible with the HTC Touch Diamond 2.
Unfortunately if you have a previous version of CoPilot 7 pre-installed with the customized version of CoPilot Live 7 for the HTC Diamond II on your device you won't be able to uninstall it and re-install the new version as HTC stop CoPilot from being removed from the device once installed.
In order to check if you have the customized version or not please send us your software build version:
Launch Copilot on your device / More / Settings / More / More / More / About Copilot / Version
If you have any further questions, or feel that this incident has not been resolved to your satisfaction, please do not hesitate to bring this to our attention.

I must have missed the above when I went searching the CP site. I myself didn't find it too much of a hradship moving from CP7 to CP8 and I personally think the benfits are WELL WORTH it. If you're on the fence - go for CP8!

Can they really do this? Surely there must be a way to remove it apart from a standard uninstall? Does other software behave like this?
Like I said before, using SK-Tools I have removed CP7 from the official HTC 6.5 ROM and successfully installed (DEACTIVATE needed if installed on 6.1 ROM) CP8 with no problemos.....

copilot 8 is available on the td2 as i selected the device- as loads others here have as well
but if you think that £26 is a lot of money for a sat nav service, then have a look at wayfinder - £50, blackberry telmaps - £5 a month, or tom tom which is what? £80+

When I installed CoPilot8 on my TD2, it told me that it needed to uninstall the former version first. Which of course I allowed...
CoPilot7 Trial is gone, and my licensed CoPilot8 is installed.
Works like a charm.

hi, i am going to buy htc tattoo in 2 days time. before that i need to know whether i have plenty of apps alternative to windows mobile apps.
i also heard that its a qvga screen, so developers have to sign it to get it working on tattoo (240x320 qvga screen). is that true that we may expect good number of apps for this device??? by the grace of developers showing interest in developing apps & games for qvga screen(old mobile screen)... ????
will it be future proof ???? i am also not sure about the availability of upgrade to android 2.0 from 1.6. can anyone reply to these messages???
waiting for ur responses.... if i wanna install any application on htc tattoo, where do i get the apps & how do i install it???? like is it like just clicking on exe files as in windows???? or is there any special way how i should install apps & games????
i know it may sound like a noob talk. but what to do, i am totally new to this android thing..... no idea on how to get it started & know more about it, android & its different versions of OS..... kindly throw some light on where to get all information about it & its uses over windows mobile.... in simple & detailed manner.....
detailed information is highly appreciated...... thanks
I switched from a WM HTC Diamond to the cheaper HTC Tattoo and find it quicker, and with more apps!
But it might be useful for you to tell us what apps you want/use already, and we can say whether or not they are on Tattoo.
As for 2.0 who knows, talk is it should eventually get the upgrade but not exactly high priority,
Info
I have also switched from HTC Diamond to Tattoo. I know that Tattoo is cheaper but I like it more.
To install .apk you can use HTC Sync. After synchronization you can find on main screen HTC Sync :Application Installer and you can use it for install any application.
You can use ASTRO file manager to install .apk from Tattoo
There is no problem with APPS, I already have installed even AndNav2, and There is a lot of software in the market. Something that Diamond doesnt have
This phone beat the Diamond with performance, software, easy to use and price, but not with the display resolution.
how about upgrading android 1.6 to 2.1 on htc tattoo ??? any ROM available yet??? i wanna try that version of android OS on my htc tattoo.... any input about its guide would be appreciated.....
@kashish, where r u from buddy??? u just vanished after u asked me a question??? fine... i wanna know if 3G is launcehd in India, can i use it with my tattoo with firmware update??? ur reply is highly appreciated pls....
Hey guys, I need some assistance here. I bought a Tattoo and believe me I love it - even coming from higher-end Android phones, the problem is that mine is apparently a Malaysian variant and there is no ANDROID MARKET as such - only SLIDE ME. I am not sure of the difference in availability off apps between the two, but I have heard there are only 25% of the usual apps on SLIDE ME as compared to ANDROID MARKET. Anyway, my main issue here is that I cannot get any Instant Messenger apps like Agile Messenger or doc viewers like Adobe, Quickoffice or Documents To Go. Are these available (even in paid form) for the Tattoo? I love this little phone and it is super-fast - but I NEED these apps on the Tattoo. Anyone able to shed some light for me?

Right now, I think only BSNL or MTNL provides 3G service. I just activated Vodafone's EDGE service, known as Vodafone Mobile Connect, and it works just fine with my Tattoo. GPS, Twitter, Facebook updates... all work just fine. I do hope that when more operators start providing 3G service, HTC releases an update to enable 3G. I am pretty sure that it's a software limitation and not a hardware limitation.
