No camera sound - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi guys.
Very annoying little problem here. I do not have a shutter sound when I take pictures, no matter what the settings are. Any ideas? Maybe I am missing something.
Thanks a lot.

You've probably got the System Volume set at zero in Settings > Sound and Display.
It controls general feedback sounds like the camera sound and the keyboard sound.
Does that help?

Thanks it does. But now I have that annoying click when i touch some icons, etc. Anyway, maybe I am asking for too much from this phone. Thanks again man.

Yeah I hate that sound too.
Turn it off menu where you found the System Volume by unchecking Audible Selection a bit further down.

Keyboard click volume.

I know this is a pretty random question but is there any way to turn down the volume of the HTC keyboard? There is a setting like that in the replacement Smart Keyboard. I like having the sound feedback when I type but I just feel like its a little too loud for me. Any apps or possible ways I could turn it down? Thanks.

I adjusted the media volume in the settings and it had no affect..

Notification Volume

So on every android phone, in the sound settings for ringtone, you can set it so that your notification and ringtone volume is the same (by checking off a little box). I font see this option on the phone and so when I lower my volume it only lowers it for the ringtone, not emails and texts etc. this is ANNOYING. is they're not a setting for this or is it just me?

It's extremely annoying, and my biggest issue I've had with the phone so far. Followed closely by no notification LED. Hoping to see fixes for both soon.
Okay, here's how.
As usual, Settings > Sound and Display > Notification Ringtone. Now that you have the notification ringtone list open, just press the volume key to adjust.
That's how you manually adjust the notification ringtone, as always. What we're missing is the option always in every other Android OS that allows you to match your notification volume automatically to your ringtone volume, allowing you to adjust everything at once by the hard keys on the outside of the phone. Without that option you bump your ringtone way down, for example to go in a meeting, then one of your notifications goes off full blast.
Okay, I see now. I haven't had an android phone in a month so I'm a bit rusty. Well here's a fix to that then. I can't do anything about it in the settings itself, but go to the market and download "Quick Settings." Open the app and go into volume control. On the top there is a check box for "Use Ringer volume for Notifications." Now it'll work.
That sucks big ones. I'll have to use audio manager till that issue gets fixed. This is why I hate non-stock android phones because manufacturers like htc, motorola, and samsung think they thought of everything but they always end up messing something up

I agree, this is the most annoying thing about the vibrant. (luckily its an easy fix)
Thanks for the suggestion on the "Quick Settings" app
damn, whats up with samsung phones just straight up missing **** that's included in android? I was googling for a way to block calls when I saw that android should be able to take any contact and send their calls straight to voicemail.. NOPE, not on my epic.. now the notification/ringer volume link is missing too?! WTF?
I'm having a serious case of buyer's remorse right now.

ringtone volume?

not sure if this device specific but on my htc incredible in the options i had the ability to have set the notification volume based on the ringtone volume.
on this phone, they're 2 independent settings.
anyone know if theres a way around that?
i just looked and didnt see a way to do it... i had a droid1, dx, and d2 and where i would normally be able to change it (settings > sounds and display > phone ringtone) its just not there... there should be a checkbox to "unlink" phone ringtone and notification volume...
if its somewhere else, please inform
I downloaded an app called "Quick Settings" (really slick apps that gives you acess to a lot of settings all in one place) and it has a check box under it's volume control menu to "Use Ringer volume for Notifications".
Hope this helps!
I like that, thank you! It needs a widget, though.

i have been wondering the same thing. I had quick settings on my Incredible, don't know why i didn't think to download that.
Thanks.
I remember seeing that feature on my Eris after installing the KaosFroyo ROM. I think it's a new feature in Froyo, so we'll probably see it with our Froyo upgrade as well.

Not a widget but there is a setting to put in the (already too crowded) status bar/ pull down.

An app similar to Invisibright Pro but for Volume?

I use the invisibright app because it gives you the option to stick it in the notifications bar so you can access it whenever you need to change the brightness. I'm looking for a similar app that does the same except this time, its the volume settings, not brightness. My volume rockers have been modded to be used as menu and back buttons, which I find really handy, so I'm left with using recent plus to access volume settings. Sometimes it takes a while to have recent plus start up, and pulling up the notification bar is faster. Is there such an app?

Have you tried this one? Sounds like what you're looking for:

in recent plus you can set it for both volume and brightness all in the same long press

That's what I'm currently using for volume. I don't like it that much though because sometimes it takes forever to show up. The 'long-press' on that app seems to be a 'press for a lifetime' for me.

I emailed the dev about it. Received a reply 5 minutes later (talk about excellent customer service!) He acknowledged my suggestion of being able to change the volume as well, and said that he'll get it working pretty soon.

Hey guys,
I'm working on this today and ran into an interesting issue. Normally, volume rockers can are "smart" by sending a volume up/down event to the currently open app. You'll see this when you hit the rocker while playing music and it knows to adjust the media volume, not the system volume. If I implement this in the slider, I have a bad feeling that the key remap mod will kick in and it'll send a menu button action or something. Can someone (with a Nook) willing to test this out for me give me a quick PM? I only have a Droid Charge.
UPDATE:
nvm, found a much better way of doing it
Thanks.

This is great news, danny. I'm willing to test anything for you, but the thing is I've got my NC bricked just yesterday. :'( I've been up all night trying to fix it! T_T Once I get it up and running again I'll be 100% supporting this project of yours! ^_^
InvisiBright updated
3.3 now has options for volume and new slider height settings (both for tablets). Enjoy!

[Q] Notification Volume

So I've run across an issue that is quite bothersome to me.
is there no option to make the notification volume change with the ringer volume?
I haven't found the setting anywhere and on both my old htc and samsung devices there was an option, does lg not have one or am I missing it?

If you press the settings cog in the volume slider in the notification Window it let's you change volume for a bunch of different things, I'm not sure if that's what you are looking for.

No, I know how to change the volume.
What I'm looking for is a setting to make the notification volume change at the same time as the ringer volume.

Gotcha, I haven't looked too hard at that, I will take a look when I get a few minutes.
I'm sure there's an app that let's you do this. Have you checked the play store?
Nothing that I've found works so far
