[Q] browser or network - HD2 General

Hi,
When I try to open a website in the Opera 10 browser on my HTC HD2 while connected to 3G - I get a message:
"HTTP Error 400: Your browser sent a malformed request
Is your browser http/ 1.0 compliant ?"
then I have to refresh the page to access actual content of the website.
However when I'm connected throu WiFi - no such problem. Websites open straight away.
Anyone experienced the same or knows where the problem is ??

Universal quirks

I'm using a QTEK 9000. Can somebody confirm on their JJ/O2 EXEC/ Dopod 900
1) If a webpage has more than 10 frames you cannot open it
Here's the test
Go to www.numion.com. Start the test by selecting Singapore sites. Run it and a message box will pop-up saying the site exceeded 10 frames
2) If the set is being connected to your notebook through USB (with Activesync disconnected) and its being charged you cannot surf the internet usng either Wi-Fi or G/U (whatever that appears on the top bar). Have not test using AC charger though.
Thanks
Hi,
The error message is;
"This Web page contains too many frames and cannot be displayed. Internet Explorer Mobile can only display pages with 10 or fewer frames."
This to me sounds like a limitation with the application, not hardware. I would presume that a different browser may have other results; ie
- Mozilla
- Opera
- Or some other 3rd party web brower
Just a thought

Browsing with PIE

I'm very confused as to why I can't browse with PIE, Opera works fine, but if I try to browse in PIE (I want to use logmein ) It connects, then says locating for ~30 seconds or so, then gives me the following error : "The page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost. Check the connection and try again later"
I can browse perfectly well with opera, but can't resolve any page with PIE.
I'm on t-mobile in the UK and AFAIK all my settings are right, so why can't I use IE??

Is there any proxy setting in your PDA? As has been pointed out in many of my Pocket PC & Web browsing-related articles, Opera doesn't use the system-level proxy, while PIE / IEM does. This is why IEM doesn't work.
I have got the t-mobile proxy in my settings, but if I delete it I can't connect at all.
WHat settings should I have ??
bump.
Can anyone help?

Opera Mobile 10 doesn't directly load link in 3G

Hi,
Whenever I click on a link outside of opera mobile (like from email, or favorite) or within opera from the 9-tile favorites page, it will give an error message saying the service is busy or offline (translated from dutch error page, don't know what it exactly says in english). However, if I then click on reload, I get the page I want.
To me, it feels like the 3G of gprs dataconnection is somehow delayed and therefore opera thinks the internetconnection is offline. Whenever I have a wifi connection, this error does not occur and the requested page is directly loaded.
Does anybody recognizes this problem and knows a solution?
Regards, Rutger
Solved it!
The problem is with turbo function. When I disabled it, opera loads directly all links.

How to connect to wifi that requires authentication

I'm travelling with my NST, and I have not been able to connect to hotel/conference site wifi that requires authentication --- as in you first connect to a wifi network that has no password, but when you go to a webpage the browser first takes to you a login page where you enter your ID/password. Opera mini on the NST simply refuses to go that login page, even after I explicitly type in the URL of that page (the "wheel" keeps spinning).
I have another android device (a samsung galaxy player, rooted but otherwise running samsung stock 2.2) and I have no problem connecting. Any help and suggestion is most welcome!
Try using Opera Mobile. Opera Mini cannot access local hosts; when you browse with Mini, all the data is compressed by Opera's servers first. If you have mobile but it doesn't work, try re-installing it.

I have problems connecting?

To public WiFi like in Walmart I'm a able to connect to it but then I get this message on my browser when trying to search for something?
I tried turning it off and on but still have the same problem. My brothers were able to connect and browse just fine.
Sent from my XT1575 using XDA Free mobile app
Does it work in Chrome?
The wifi is trying to redirect your phone to the signin page, but your browser sees it as a security problem and blocks it. There are a number of potential solutions to try. If you google for something like "open wifi popup can't connect" and similar to that, more will come up.
--Try temporarily disabling popups in Opera and get it to work.
--Clear the cache for Opera.
--For alternate browsers, try searching for something in Chrome and see if it redirects to the login page for you. Using Dolphin set to "Desktop" (vs. Mobile) may also work.
--Alternatively, when the login page comes up for your brothers, make a note of it and type it into Opera.
