How di I unroot my phone?? Getting Incredible...

Verizon has graciously agreed to send me an Incredible at no cost , due to "problems" lol...with my phone...
How do I unroot the phone, so when they get it back, it isnt rooted?
Any help would be awesome...

i told them that the phone was a piece of **** more or less...its outdated....and im on my second replacement.
Theyre sending me a refurbed Incredible, with out the back cover and battery for free... (cost me 20.99 on ebay)
I cant find the instructions to un-root.
please can someone post the link....
I found instructions, but no files to download :-(

Verizon just let me early upgrade to the droid x lol. I just called and they offered with out me asking

they told me there was a 3 month wait on the Droid x...wtf..lol

There site say late july. They said i could get the x or the inc but the inc wait is much longer

i went through a few replacements for the eris they sent me a droid it wasnt much better , besides i hate the pull out keyboard, they just took back the droid redid my contract charged me 100 bux (the difference between the incredible or droid x and the motodroid) i chose the droid x , its way better then the incredible , and not only that, ,i got to keep the eris hhaah

Guessing you guys haven't read about the Droid X's rooting issue, eh?

i dont have the incredi ble i have the droid x , but yea i believe the incredible is rooted , im not sure if they will catch if ur eris is rooted or not ,, but if u read ,u will see how to unroot ur phone there are a few places i believe on here to find the info

I got my eris nov 4 th the day it came out. I picked the droid x. I figure if i ever need a small phone i can use my eris the verizon guy on the phone sqid the same thing lol. If ur going to call call soon i said i had the no audio while making out bound call issue the said there deploying a patch the would fix it soon.

You do realize that Motorola has locked down the Droid X so you can NEVER load non-moto software on it. It won't even boot past recovery it discovers a non-moto rom. It's part of the hardware.

Not only will it brick the phone if you try to mess with it, it will require a hardware repair (by motorola) to get it working again.

so here is the situation. at first, i wanted to buy a Droid X but they were all out of stock at the verizon store near me, so i left with a droid incredible instead. but surprisingly for me i liked the incredible a lot more then i expected that i would. and i used my incredible for a few weeks but then i started noticing the speaker on the front wasnt working right, it would make a static noise during a phone call. and i have not even reached the 30 day limit with this phone so i returned the incredible back to the vzw store again but instead of getting a new incredible i decided to get a droid x instead like i originally planned to get. and i have been using this droid x for about a few weeks now and i must say, i liked my Droid Incredible MUCH better. the incredible was much faster, and sexier. so now i am wondering if verizon will let me take back my Droid x and once again get a Droid incredible instead, i really miss my incredible and im really starting to hate this phone.

That depends on.............mood of store manager. They can do pretty much everything there, however they could tell you you cannot make a second exchange. That happened to me once, but the manager was nice enough a let me do the exchange 3 times. So, my suggestion is - make up a little story and give it a try. Good luck.

HTC seems to always bring the greatest and latest. But in my experience their phones just don't last. Serious...NOT trying to troll. I've literally gone through 20+ HTC Recertified Like New devices in the past few years. Most common was the Oil Slick LCD problem, where Verizon eventually started blaming the customer as user affected abuse even though the LCD wasn't cracked.
Great specs encased with cheap plastic and cheap parts.

Thats been my experience with HTC devices. Loved them all until they broke in the first 3 months. I went through 13 HTC devices (from the Vogue all the way up to the Rhodium) in about a year and a half. Personally, I will never own another HTC device unless that company does something AMAZING.
As far as your question goes, if the store manager is unwilling to do anything for you, I'm sure you could find someone that would be willing to trade their Incredible for your DX.

im not looking for some one to trade with. im wondering if verizon will let me trade in my phone for an incredible.

I have a Droid incredible oled screen. Ill be willing to trade. Has zagg screen protector and in a case so if your willing pm me.

If its the software you hate so much then why don't you flash one of the amazing roms on this forum. By now software should not be an issue.

Came from rooted droid eris. The eris had to be rooted to make it a good/decent phone. What are the pros to rooting a X, because this seems pretty good already. Thanks I'll hang up and listen.

just fyi this is not an android development question.
being a former eris user tho i was so used to customization and the only way to customize as much as the eris you need root as a side note you should try Liberty 1.5 rom its the best

Pros of rooting the X is being able to remove all the bloat that verizon put on it. They loaded all the new android phones with so much crap that it looks like an old Windows PC.
Anyway, a real plus to rooting the X is being able to run the epic roms such as Apex and Liberty. Both are awesome but if you run Liberty 1.5 make sure you grab the battery fix as that seems to be its only weak point.

Bootloaders not actually unlocked

The Droid X, Milestone etc bootloaders were not actually unlocked. It was a hoax. http://www.androidcentral.com/motorola-bootloader-still-encrypted-developer-comes-clean
I don't see why so many are willing to put up with this. There are plenty of other good android phones out there. As long as Motorola is going to fight this, there will never be a truly safe way to flash custom roms/kernels on droid phones, and devs simply aren't going to invest the time necessary to develop much.

Motorola is too committed to their bootloaders not being crackable. Just pick another phone for your next one.

I think its horrible that some one thought it was funny that this happened. I know I am a no body to the android community but I for sure did an "unfollow" on twitter today.

I would recommend a Galaxy S. The bootloaders are unlocked and it now has a functional CM7 version. Plus, nothing beats the Super AMOLED screen.

Yeah this was pretty lame, got my hopes up, so I just got a dinc for now until I can afford a new phone or get my upgrade.

I loved my Droid X when I first got it. Rooted it and had leaked Froyo running on it before OTA was available. After that there was not much more I could do with it. Bought a used Captivate on ebay. There are lots of custom ROMs and kernels to choose from. When September rolls around I hope there is a new Samsung phone available. No more Moto's for me.

Galaxy S phones are very solid, with a few mods, it will fly. Plus the bootloader is unlocked, if u are coming from the x, you will greatly appreciate this. I just picked up a thunderbolt and so far, i love it. Its crazy fast, LTE or not, and having the 256mb of extra ram really makes for a phone that never slows down, no matter what you are doing. My only complaint other than the battery being undersized, as HTC ALWAYS does, is the adreno 205, people with the mytouch or G2 will tell you its good. When voming from a galaxy s the GPU is the only thing that i dont think is better.

ok guys 2 days ago some how I had a atrix on 2.3.4 i ran the RSD lite and pudding sbf file got to 99% and said fail So I got the error code we all hate

Now here is the thing on my Atrix I had that Error but I also had 10 other options to chose from from that black screen like RSD/Fastboot/Bs Bypass Ect Ect....now to fix this Rsdlite will have to detect your device if not then no go for you but if you get the

Are you serious? Try reading any of the several posts that clearly state and explain how to unlock with pudding. Hopefully a mod will see and close this crap quickly....

THIS IS NOT a hard brick.
With hard brick - you cannot access "the 10 options" you mentioned.
This is a soft brick and it was always fixable.

Far from a Noooob lol But a Noob move I have been away from the Atrix for 3 months working on my G2x And Sensation I had the Atrix the day it came out so back then non of this development was out yet I just paid for one off craigslist 2 days ago well now I have 2 Atrix I thought I was bricked and dropped more money on another Atrix now I fixed what thought was a Hard Brick I have a Extra Atrix thats Sim unlocked also Guess I will sale this baby
