Running Sky Raider 2.2.5, with updated Radio and S-Off applied...
my GPS isn't even within a few miles of my actual location, but before it was exact. Anyone know how I can fix this?

I'm running the stock Verizon 6.1 MR1 update with the GPS fix from here. The following GPS programs are loaded:
Fransons GPS Gate 2.6 - using the WM GPS setting to get Iguidance to work
IGuidance 4.0.2
Micosoft Live Search
Google Maps
Everything was working fine last night but this morning Live Search won't find any signals (even though I'm outside with a clear sky). Google Maps doesn't find any satellites. IGuidance satellite indicators aren't working and Franson shows a yellow icon saying "GPS data but no position" - Running OK!
Would someone please let me know if they have the MR1 update with the GPS fix from here and is getting Live Search information today. I'd like to see if Verizon has somehow "screwed" the data signal so this fix no longer works.
Thanks!
Did you try to do a soft reset on the phone? If they are blocking anything it would be the aGPS but not sure how they would single you out. Mine is still working and I am on DCD 3.2.6 with Radio ROM 3.42.50 and my GPS app is getting the aGPS info and then locking indoors.
i think that a soft reset is the GPS best friend
mine always works right off the soft reset
Yep - tried soft-resetting the phone about 7-8 times over various time of the day and still no dice.
I'm going to pair it up it back up with my I-Trek M5+ receiver when I get home and see if get locks on those programs.
Thanks!

just tried it here in NJ and it is working just fine
You might need to change the aGPS mode back to 2 in the registry. After upgrading to the latest PRI and all the GC aGPS stuff, I wasn't getting a fix in doors as I was. So some other post said that they changed that registry setting to 2 and that just worked for me.
GPS stopped working
Verizon must have figured out a way to block the aGPS. I have two XV6800's and both are out of commision. Worked last night, but not this "mourning". I even tried to install the "uninstall" cab by GC, but it would not install. Any ideas?
I have an xv6800 in NY and I just now got a GPS lock using Live Search inside my apartment. Seems to still be working here.
O.K. It's back up now. Verizon might have had an issue in certain areas today. I'm in Ohio and didn't have GPS all day. Now it is back up and running on both phones. Phew.
Sorry, didn't get a chance to post yesterday.
Mine came back up at about 2:15 pm yesterday in Northern Va and it's been fine since.
Probably some hiccup in the network or atmosphere conditions (sunspot activity etc).
Thanks for help everyone!
I had the same problem this weekend. My GPS (google maps) died on me. This was while travelling across Kentucky and Indiana. I tried a softreset a few times. Reinstalled Google Maps. Nothing. Monday, it started working again.
I'm beginning to think that Verizon has some issues with their aGPS servers. I'm constantly having issues here in central New York with not being able to get a gps lock.
Working great for me. I have yet to have a problem or not get connected within seconds.
how do you get the agps addresses and still have DCD roms? is there a seperate cap file for the Agps servers?
Here's the problem.
I was going to return my XV6800 (Verizon) and get a Touch Pro. I was informed that I'd have to wait a few weeks before they would send me a brand new Touch Pro. But I didn't know this before I had updated to MR2.
I undid the Verizon lockdown on the GPS (Qpst, etc...) and can get google maps to recognize/use the GPS (valhalla GPS cab... etc...) So long as I'm using Verizon's MR1.
Now, when I flash using a custom ROM, nothing can find GPS satellites. Not Google maps, not LIVE search, not the HTC GPS tool. Flash back to MR1, and apply the valhalla cab, and they can all use the GPS chip just fine.
Google maps sits at "Seeking GPS satellites (0)... forever, and eventually says that I should go outside.
Anyone have any ideas? (Cross-posted to ppcgeeks)
****EDIT****
Nevermind, I was unable to get a GPS lock because of clouds and buildings in the downtown area.
Recently I've been doing some traveling with air segments of 900 miles or more. I've been relying on OCN8 installed on my D2 to provide voice navigation at my destinations. The issue is that it takes on average an hour or more for the GPS to find my current position on arrival. This can be quite the inconvenience when leaving the airport when the onscreen map is still centered on my house!
I've observed this behavior with OCN8, Google Maps, and GPSWeatherRadar, so I believe the problem is with the gpsOne chipset attempting to optimize the current location based on the last now-distant fix. (I don't know why the aGPS isn't "assisting" in the optimization.) Once the current location is determined, OCN8 updates very quickly.
Is there anyway to speed up the calculation or at least to feed the gpsOne chipset a better starting point for the optimization?
QuickGPS is activated. Other relevant information:
Touch Diamond2 T5353
ROM version 1.39.405.3 (49068) WWE (Stock European)
ROM Date 06/16/09
Radio Version 3.43.25.19
Try the new radio 4.48.25.13
Maybe also disable quickgps and even more - the gps log
imho: QuickGPS is a load of bull...
There are billions and billions of posts on this and other forums discussing wether QuickGPS actually works or not and since none of the tests have been done in a scientific way (or even in the same way), there is no way to be sure.
@broadview: How/where do you start the GPS programs? Are you indoor? This can slow down the fix. Are you moving while waiting for the fix? This would be really bad and would explain the long time.
I have the stock ROM too, QuickGPS is enabled and I don't have tweaked the registry. I have a fix in less than 10 seconds.

Hello,
Where can i find the 4.48.25.13 radio?
I'll try the new radio (opensea - just Google "HTC Diamond2 Radio 4.48.25.13") and try disabling QuickGPS, though I don't understand how having updated satellite positions hurts the calculation.
peterbonge - the last time this happened was in a parked car in an open area. My D2 gets a quick lock when I haven't moved to far from the last fix. The issue only occurs when the D2 is attempting to determine a location hundreds of miles from the last fix.
The only thing I'm uncertain about is how to disable the GPS log. I'll need to to do some research on that. I have some trips coming up and will be able to do some testing.
I have now rooted my Hero and updated to the Fresh 2.0d ROM and was hoping that my problem with the weather widget would be fixed. I used to live in Colorado Springs and now live in southern Denver and for both locations it shows my current location as some dinky town 15 miles from either location directly in between. I always assumed this is the location of the Sprint tower I was connecting to, but looking at the map, this is unlikely due to the terrain. I am now using Beautiful Widgets and they have at least a better resolution, if not perfect. Has anyone else noticed this issue? If so has anyone been in the weather widget code enough to try and fix it?
are you using an airave? if so it is a known problem with them, sprint will even tell you that it messes with location services
nope... 3G and wifi(at home).
my location seems to put me in washington dc but i live in michigan so the closest location to me for what i'm trying to do would be lansing, mi.
I'm using speedtest.net app and other apps too but my main concern is it keeps thinking i'm in washington dc. Anyone know how to resolve this? I've had this issue on every android build i've tried.
I also just checked my fiance's phone it's a stock mytouch3g 3.5mm jack and it does the same thing
i have the same problem too, even back then on winmo. my location shows place about 10-20 km from mine.
unless you are on GPS, it will never be 100% accurate, because it locates you depending on your "cell location", i.e what broadcasting tower your connecting to. which may be wrong due to google, or your carrier not updating records etc.
just live with it i'm afraid!
oh and the speedtest app bases it's location on IP Address, not cell tower location, thus it will never put you in the correct location, because mobile ip address's do not have a set location, so they simply associate with a random city, usually larger ones.
but i've turned on gps and use google maps...
has the gps got a lock?
my location still probably defaults to GSM location, because otherwise it would turn on gps everytime you update your location!
also google is not very good with this feature.
because today i was sitting in a room, and the location jumped from two loactions constantly! one was correct, while the other was quite far

I'm runnning darkstone HD2Froyo v1 on my phone (along with the UK o2 ROM 1.72, radio 2.15 and HSPL 2.08) but the location doesnt work at all.
Any suggestions as to how I can resolve this? If another 'droid build is needed, a link to the relevant page on XDA would be much appreciated.

Darkstone has updated his build to 1.5, just for your information. This consumes a lot less battery.
Try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870518&page=151 and scroll back a few pages from there. There a atleast 3 solutions listed. Hope this helps.

The T-Mobile I.P. address is in Washington, so when you ping, it thinks you are there. If you check on help on "speed.net" there is a section/link for such a question and it points to the service they use for locating I.P addressed and how it updates.
