E-mail, unable to save attachment? - Galaxy S I9000 General

I'm having a problem saving an e-mail attachment using the standard android E-mail app. When I hit the save button i get the error message 'Unable to save attachment to SD Card'. The funny thing is i can view the attachment fine. Anybody come across this problem and found a solution?
Thanks in advance.
Note. I do not have an external SD Card.

mms from sd

hello. I searched on and off the site, couldn't find. so I will ask: how do I send a mms using pics from ny sd card. when creating a mms it will only let me use pics from my decvice folders. it won't give access to my sd card folders
From within MMS app:
Click Menu->New->Choose MMS template (unless you have already checked "Always choose custom")->click Insert picture/video->Click drop down upper left-hand corner under Start (probably says My Pictures)->Choose My Device->Choose Storage Card then click on whatever folder your media is in.
Alternatively, you can browse to the picture in Pictures & Video app and then choose Send from the lower left hand corner while viewing.
wow. that was simple. thanks for the help

photo attachment from emails

anyone knows how to save the photo attachment from the emails? i DID search and can't find anything about it.
thanks
when you open the picture. Long press on it and the option to save should pop up.
did that but there's no "save" option. i'm trying to save a photo from an email which was sent by an iphone.

Click to collapse
Is the pic embedded in the e-mail or just an attachment? When you open it, does it open in the sense picture viewer app?
it is embedded i think, coz it just shows up as the email body.
[bump] still no answers....

If it is embedded in the email you should be able to click and hold and it should give you an option to save down. Are you reading the email through the phone or are you reading it through opera or IE
i'm reading it through the phone
have you tried checking the image properties. It could show the text as one file and the image as another. In which case you should be able to long press on the image file and save.

[TUT] Sending vCards via E-Mail

yesterday i came across an interesting thing. a friend of mine wanted me to send him a vcard of a contact via E-Mail. i thought that wouldn't be a problem, opened contacts and saw, that there was no option for that. and since MMS are fairly expensive in germany and e-mails are free i wanted to find a way to send it as an e-mail.
"Send Contact" only offers Beam or SMS/MMS
"Send as vCard" automatically opens up MMS
(see Screenshot #1)
but here is the solution for that!
1. Click Send as vCard
2. A new MMS opens (see Screenshot #2)
3. Press the Home key
4. Open a file explorer and navigate to \My Documents\UAContents\MMS UA\temp\
5. There is a file called 0_vCard
6. Copy that file to the Storage Card
7. Close the MMS, running in the background
8. Navigate to the Storage Card
6. Click 'n' hold the file and select Send (see Screenshot #3)
7. Select an Account (E-Mail)
8. you are ready to send the vCard as a file attachment (see Screenshot #4)
I know, this seems rather complicated and is probably not every day stuff to most of you, but it is good to know, that it is possible to do it. the most important thing, is to know, where the temporary vcard is stored. you could use the same way to beam the vcard via bluetooth, which is also not a standard option, or also for any other file type that can just be sent through MMS in the standard definition. still i think it is ridiculous, that you'd have to go through 8 steps and fumble around multitasking just because they "forgot" to put more options in that menu.
i hope you can use this information, just wanted to share my find
with best regards
Tony

Generic ROM/ X2 contacts,Stock messenger.

I ditched Handcent and am using the stick text messenger.
Now I can see pictures sent to me
Problem is now it shows double everyone in my contact list and there is no way to filter "Show only phone contacts" or some such option.
I'm sure I have them saved to phone, sim and SD card . Which can I try wiping first and how ?
I'll try tooling aroind in Astro for a bit to see if I can find contact list and kill one of them ....
If you have another idea, Please lemme know.
I unmounted ad removed the SD card.
No dice... Same results.
Serves you right for ditching Handcent

[Q] Way to save photos sent via MMS

I had someone send me some photos via MMS and while a thumbnail shows up OK in my messages, I can't copy them or find them among the photos on my phone. The copy function isn't working and when I try to forward them I get an error. Is there any way to copy or save them?

Click to collapse
Click on the photo under your messages. It will maximise, then click on the three ... at the bottom of the screen and save to phone.. Saved and done!
