HD mini was working flawlessly until last week when the radio just dropped signal completely. Tried soft reset, no change. Checked with vodafone (UK) they assured me nothing wrong with line. Tried sim in my work HD2...works fine. Tried my work orange sim in my mini, it didn't work.
Tried hard reset, orange sim started working, but no luck connecting to vodafone.
Woke up this morning after using orange sim for almost a week, now that has stopped working as well. I've now tried 4 different networks just in case and none of them get signal.
i have rom version 1.10.161.1, HTC site wont let me download any updates and i've never changed a rom before.
Radio version is 0.63.05.18
Are there any known problems with this? Is there a remedy without sending the phone back to HTC who say it could take up to 30 days to fix the phone!!

Hello all
My colleague posted this message a couple of weeks ago, but didn't provide full info and as such the replies did not work.
So here it is. I would be grateful for any advice.
I unlocked my xda I, using a software I downloded from here, which was previously working on O2 UK. After that, it doesn't work with any O2 Sim. It works with all other UK sims (Vodafone, T-Mobile, Orange). But not O2. The O2 sims are ok as they work on other handsets and specifically my unlocked XDA II and other handsets ( I have tried 2 different O2 sims).
But no joy. I even tried to change the GSM frequency on the XDA through boot loader (even though I didn't have to), but no joy. I have gone through the auto config several times. but no joy. I even re-installed the latest O2 firmware and radio update (from the O2 web site), but still no joy.
I am running out of ideas. Does anyone have any idea? Should I try and downgrade the firmware and radio stack and try again? Can I do it from the original CD?
I would be grateful for any ideas.
Cheers
Nima
Can you tell us the nature of the error with an O2 sim, what is shown at the signal level meter, what happens when you attempt a call etc. Please leave the radio stack alone, your phone is working on 900 and 1800 bands so that is not the problem. Was the sim that you have at the moment working on this phone on O2 before the upgrade.?
Hello Thank you for your reply.
When you turn the phone on, it asks you for the SIM pin and the device works fine in every other way. But you get no signal. If you try to make a phone call, you get the phone dialer screen and you can dial the number but, obviously, it disconnects more or less immediately. If (from the phone dialer screen) you try and go to options it freezes and doesn't show you the options screen and then you can only exit the phone dialer. Also, I put the GSM frequenct back to what it was. I haven't changed anything in the bootloader mode anyway. I had problems with the original O2 sim after the upgrade (funny enough, it worked for a day or two), but now i don't have that sim as the contract finished. By the way, both of the O2 sims I am trying now are contracts and NOT pre-paid.
Well here it is. I hope this helps to let you figure something out. I would be grateful for any ideas. What about formware downgrade? what do you think? could it help ? is it even possible?
Thanks a lot.
Nima
It presents as a blocked phone, if you look closely at the signal meter after a soft reset you may see the signal come up but then drop back to nothing. It may be coincidence that it stopped working with O2 2 days after the upgrade. I have seen this happen with phones that either have been subject to insurance claim or where a contract was not fully paid up for the 12 months, however it usually means it will be blocked on all networks. It does not look like a rom downgrade will work, also as said before, if it works on Vodafone it should logically work with all other 900 mhz bands.
I have a Qtek 9100 running the latest ROM and radio, etc on the Cingular network. The other day I get no signal, and reboot do not fix the problem. I take the sim card, and put it in a different phone. The other phone gets a signal, but says I can make emergency calls only. After about an hour on the phone with a Cingular rep I agree to drive to the store and get a replacement card. The replacement card fixed the problem. 4 days later, I am back to the same problem. The cingular rep is now blaming the phone after they can't figure out whats wrong. He is telling me the phone is "Zapping" the sim card. I find this hard to believe, but has anyone had this problem before? Has anyone ever tried to do an RMA with Qtek? Any help would be great, as i'm ready to put this 9100 on ebay and be done with it, unless an RMA with Qtek is worth it.
Happened to me last week with my 9100 (still running the original ROM). Got a new SIM and it's been running fine since.
i've had my 9100 rom on my 8125 for acout 2 weeks now without any major problems. the only problem I have is that it switches back and forth from gprs to edge a lot, but it doesn't bother me.
have you tried to reflash back to the cingular rom? it couldn't hurt.
I actually am running the Cingular ROM. I already replaced the SIM card 4 days ago, and it worked for about 4 days until it broke again. It doesnt make much sense, because something has to be corrupting the SIM card. When I ran *#*#364#*#* GSM utility, it would give me no data at all. Obviously the SIM card is dead (But still reads contacts on the SIM), and reauthorizing it does nothing to restore it. I will get a replacement today and verify the SIM continues to work in a different handset before I put it back in the 9100. Also I plan to factory default, and upgrade to latest ROMS etc before I try it again just in case. If anyone has any other ideas, let me know. Thanks.

Aqueous, very much the same problem here. I got my Qtek9100 yesterday and I am connecting to Cingular. When I switch on the phone it takes forever to latch to network. The
Y.
Y..
Y... keeps happening for ever and ever. But once, it latches it stays on to it firmly. If I put the sim in my old phone Nokia3230, it just connects to cingular with a snap as soon as the phone is switched on. When I tap on the " Y " region it shows "searching...". I also tried doing a manual/automatic network detection in settings. During the time the "Y. Y.. Y..." keeps going, the manual detection of networks doesnt show a single network in the list. I dont know what could the problem be, since the sim just works perfect in old phone.
By the way, what does

Hi,
my prophet denies to connect to my service Provider (O2 germany) out of a sudden. It will connetct at startup for ca 1 Minute and then loose the Network.
I had the "Gullum Prophet touch some version before X" running for several weeks and then it stopped connecting. I just used it and did no installations or hackings.
The sim card works fine with an other phone and vice versa other sim cards don`t work with the prophet.
I've flashed the "Gullum Prophet touch X" and the Problem is the same.
Any Ideas? thx
I have the same problem too, tried all downgrade and upgrade options but no solution yet,any help appriciated tx.
Have you tried a different Radio ROM (the Wiki!), or altering the settings in Start->Settings->Connections (tab)->Connectons to those specific to your service provider?
similar problem
Not exactly the same - but seems like once a week or so I stop receiving calls and need to restart my PDA. Haven't found a solution yet - just something I started getting used to. It usually happens after a nightly charge.
My only suggestion would be radio ROM, or a different ROM entirely. (both on the Wiki).
sorry for not responding ...
and thanks for your suggestions. I had downgraded my rom and my Radio to the original shipped ones, but the problem is the same!
At least I had a konversation with my provider, that gave my some hope. She thought it might be a network problem and not a hard- or software failure!
why do I have to call them about 10 times saying the same things?
BUT: this call is 10 days ago and nothing has happend so far.
If there is anything new to tell about, I will post it
so long, dertka
Hi I own a Cingular 8125 (Wizard), yesterday I did a soft reset because the phone was too slow (it wasn't turned off for about 4 weeks without restarting). When it launched it ask for my phone pasword, then for my sim PIN and took them without problems but it launched without connecting to my provider signal. Everything on the phone is working fine (WiFi-Bluetooth-PC Sync, etc...) but it keeps searching for signal.
I tried 3 different sim cards and the result was the same, then I test my sim on a friends phone and it worked fine.
The only thing I did to the phone a few weeks ago was try to use a dual sim ghost that didn't worked (it show the dual sim menu and worked fine with line 1 but when I tried to switch to line 2 it happenned just the same that is happenning now with just my sim inside, it kept looking for signal)
I did a complete reset and nothing.. happened the same, then I upgrade it's ROM to the one cingular has on it's website (http://www.america.htc.com/support/8125/software-downloads.html) it was the same one installed but it did the upgrade process anyway and NOTHING!!!
Does anyone have an idea of what could be happenning and what can I do to fix it?? I don't want to have a PDA phone just as a PDA and not phone. THanks.
Guys, I bought my HTC 3G; 8 months back..
My service provider is Vodafone (india).
Recently, my HTC stopped detecting the vodafone network. Even on a manual search, it wont show vodafone, but it will show other carriers.
I tried using my friends working sim (vodafone), even that didnt work. Then I tried a different carriers sim (airtel) that worked.
I have performed a hard-reset a couple of times, but no use.
But if I keep my HTC switched off for a few days, and turn it on with my sim in it; it detects the network works fine as if nothing happened, but soon after a couple of hours it looses the network and comes back to its real colors.
Apart from the network problem; no other issues with any other applications.
I have tried searching for network from different locations in the city (mumbai). but no use.
My HTC is still in warranty, should i go to a service centre, or can this problem be rectified at home without changing the current stock ROM?
i want to avoid re-installing a new ROM for now.. as my current PC is un-reliable, has a MBoard issue. I am replacing it soon..
Suggestions would be appreciated..
The best thing is to go use your warranty mate, dont try anything with third party apps, cause you can lose your warranty

hi
1.first go to ur service provider they also have some tech guys see if the problem is with him
2.Then take it to service if the above does not solve ur problem
cause if u take it direct to service they might just say its the problem with the provider u do it my way it will save u the time ok
