Hey guys
I was wondering if there's a way to display a video on the screen after I click on a button. The button has its own activity and I would like the video to be played on a seperate screen.
How should i go about doing it?
Should i create another activity to play the video and if so, how do I display it on the screen?
I would like to seek advice from you who are more knowledgable.

I did some searching but wasn't really able to find a way to do this...
I'm wondering if there is an app somewhere I can easily assign to a button or shortcut that will turn off the display of the device while having it remain on...
Like in Resco Pocket Radio.. you can click "display off" and it just turns the display off but still plays... this would be nice as a stand-alone app for the ones that dont have it included.. such as Media Player.
Anyone have a link to one or know if this exists anywhere currently?

you could try this little screensaver application from phmtools.
just place the exe somewhere on your device, and run it to blanck screen. Press central 'enter' button to get screen back.
Try deltalock too. It's quite flexible and worked with my Tomtom when nothing else did.
If you look at MediaPlayer options (from the player screen Menu->Options...) you will find a Button tab.
There you will be able to bind an hardware button to "Toggle screen" action.
There is no need for external progs.
thanks for all the suggestions.. I use HTC Audio Manager/LobsterTunes mainly and couldn't find anything in either of those apps to do it...
I did discover that QuickMenu has an option to turn off the screen though.. the app continues to amaze me, I didn't even know that feature was in there!

alright guy's and girls I am just wondering if anyone has come across any apps that allows the power button/lock button to be used for taking photos insted of using the stupid one on screen as it would be easyer and I am also wondering if the volume buttons can be used for zooming in and out?
and there is another thing that is up with the touch hd is when you scroll through your music and select the wrong album and when you click back it takes you to the top of the list insted of staying at the last album you was last at. Is there any apps or fixes to sort that problem out??

Do you know of a better app for seing pics in your hero?
I use the one that came with the phone called Albums but I don't like the interface. I'm looking for one that you can see the pics in small thumbnails I mean several pics per screen.

Like the grid view in Albums?
You can access that by pressing the menu button while in albums, and then you press the "grid view" option in the menu that pops up.

Hi all as I said in the title, when i stream a video in the browser (not chrome) and i tap the fullscreen button in landscape mode the softkeys hide and appear continuously, doesn't matter if i'm on youtube, facebook or another site.
i made a video to explain better the situation:

EDIT: forgot to tell that i'm on the stock google 4.2.2 no root, no unlock, no custom kernel.
and yes I've searched on google but i found nothing.
Maybe because it's a video watched from your browser, so whenever you're reading text, looking at a picture or watching a video, soft keys will appear.
What's your current browser ?

currently i use dolphin, but the same was with boat browser.
this happens when i hit the fullscreen button so the text is not visible, i don't think that is because of it.
can u try to stream a video with dolphin on youtube or somewhere in landscape and in fullscreen?

I tried, and when I hit the full screen button it actually shows the soft keys. But when I hit wherever on the screen again the soft keys disappear. Do you hit again the screen after your video is played in full screen mode ?
nop i click fullscreen button and nothing more. but if i click on the video nothing changes, still loop of hide and show.
EDIT: new info the issue not happen when i stream 4:3 videos but only when the video fits all the screen (16:9 videos)

remove the spaces from the url, but on youtube u can find a lot of 16:9 videos and the issue appear the same
there is a bug in Youtube too, if you play a video and do nothing, softkeys are hiding but if you touch the screen, grey button remplace the Home Back and Recents keys and its not hiding

Hi all, as the title says, my game screen recording doesn't seem to work. I can press record and everything seems like its working, and then when i press stop, the red toast notification pops up to view my videos on game launcher, but when I go there, there's no videos. Also theres no videos in my gallery anywhere. Is there a setting or something I'm missing?
I have exactly the same problem, haven't found any fixes yet.
Any ideas anyone? I have given all permissions to game launcher and have tried reinstalling it.
