Firstly, I apologize if this isn't the right place for this post. I was wondering if it was possible to hook my Incredible up to my Macbook and use its gps in conjunction with Google Earth on my Mac to provide realtime tracking information on my laptop screen?
to my knowledge this is not possible.
Check out solidsync Bluetooth gps in the market. It creates a Bluetooth serial port for your phone which you can then hook it to your macbook. I can't tell you personally if the app works or not since I haven't used it yet. But back when I was on winmo and my omnia i was able to do something very similar using bt serial ports

i am looking to use the gps feature of my phone on my laptop\desktop. ive looked around the web and around xda but cant find anything. my phone is still locked with wm6.
So my post was premature, sorry about that. I found what i needed, so ill share it with yall aswell post links to tha goods. first i wanted to connect my gps functionnlity to my laptop, the answer is GPS2Blue. Whick is a nifty little app that lets you send raw GPS data to your pc via bluetooth or tcpip. Beacuase im having trouble with setting up a bluetooth pan i went with the tcpip. now the problem there was i will be useing my setup for war driving, so i want my network free on my laptop. The solution was a virtual serial port. Basically a tcpip to usb app. Then i setup the mapping software earthbridge to send the data to google earth. i dont know if anyone is interested in this but if you want more info just ask.

Google Earth i figure you can find that on yer own
I know there are GPS units out there that you can tetherr and use the GPS from the computer.
I wondering if there a way to use the gps that's built in to the phone on a PC?
Internet connection or not, I just need to pull GPS data from my phone and put it on my computer.
bump bump bump
im pretty sure you cant, or there isnt a app to do it yet. and since its assisted gps you probably wouldnt want to.
best bet is to get a cheapo bluetooth gps, hollux makes some good ones, they can also attach via usb to if your pc doesnt have bluetooth.

Hey all, was wondering, can the PC hook up and use the GPS in the HD2? I want to use it for Grlevel 3 for chasing, would be cool to gps track on that map using the HD2 if able. Thanks.
for the purpose of? if you connect it to your computer I'm assuming a desktop you wouldn't be able to move anywhere. also the hd2 screen is well big enough to be a gps all on it's own.
Netbooks, my friend. I did it on one of the great lakes for navigation. Worked great. Problem is, I forgot exactly how I did it. This is about what I did to get it working.
Cool found something in that thread that gives me a lead. =D Since I already have the virtual serial port etc. And yes I am using it for the purpose of having my HD2 hook up to my netbook this way when I storm chase, Grlevel 3 will be able to track live. =D
(HD2 screen is nice.. but no windows mobile grlevel 3 yet) heh.

Sure! Try GPS2Blue _ttp://users.skynet.be/hofinger/GPS2Blue.html...
Yea thats what im looking at now. Question is, Does the HD2 use the software port for this one (External GPS) or the hardware one?
k.. well the program is running, com port is working. However one message gps2blue comes up with after its port is opened is Incomming commands.... blocked.
Grlevel 3 on my PC status says its lost fix. So not sure.. Im assuming its not getting the gps data.
EDIT: I TAKE IT BACK! IT WORKS! I guess it just wasnt getting "as strong a signal" as my gps test said it was. Its working! HAHAHHAA
Software comport 4 is the external gps setting for the HD2, Grlevel 3 is now locating my signal. =D Thanks! If more info is needed for anyone else here, let me know, This just saved me a buncha money by not switching to geico and a usb/compact flash gps unit.
Also Google Maps with GPS which is free to DL for Windows, Works too using the GPS method. =D
Does anyone know if the issue with using a bluetooth mouse is a Honeycomb thing? Aside from the standard 'I can pair but not connect' issue I have dropped in some hci tools that allow me to use terminal to detect and then connect the BT mouse via the mac address. I know that it's getting connected but the tab doesn't display the cross hairs.
Do we know if this is a driver issue with 3.0?
Sorry to technical for me but I'd like to ask you something. I can pair my Droid with my tab but it doesn't connect what's the difference between connected and not connected. I was able to transfer a photo off my phone to the tab.

I've never tried to transfer files across BT, I just always email them or use dropbox. sorry I cant help with that one.
@it2steve,
can you give a quick how-to to get the BT mouse connected? I've been trying, but it only says "Paired but not connected". I have the MouseHack.apk (from another thread) installed, but it's not seeing the device.
I have a kindle fire 7 running os 5.6.2. I want to run a GPS dongle. I use an Iphone , so I cant tether.
What am I able to do? I have loaded Google Play. Thanks
You could possibly and most likely use a GPS app that allows for bluetooth GPS devices.
