Which network and FW are you using? Have you tried reflashing to see if that sorts out the issue?

Get an exchange unit, I have one sat in a box voda doesn't want. tried reinstalling firmware, doesn't work..
this one does exact same thing , same symptoms the lot. Vodafone knew about it and sent me another out.

act i live in Pakistan and i bought it from Malaysia so its kinda impossible fr me to go there again and get it exchanged
I wasn't suggesting that you take your phone anywhere... I said to download SEUS and repair it using that.. (it replaces your phones software with a new copy.)..

Use vignette it has flash u can find the full apk everywhere on Google. Just set it as Ur default cam

Download videocam illusion ,it records video,not in HD but atleast in nice quality, I am using it and it works just fines

Well got a surprise last night when i plugged my phone in the pc and kies came up with a firmware upgrade for my galaxy s .
firmware gingerbread nejvd
baseband i9000NEJV5
2.3.3
installed ok but only after doing a hard reset and wiped everything off my phone .
phone would not start up .it would only get to the operator logo 3 then turn off and try rebooting itself.
so far so good seems faster than froyo ,hope they have sorted out the microphone gain when recording a video expecially at a gig everything was very distorted before .
on the face of it all i can see different so far is the battery icon is slightly different ,
will play more in due course see what else is different

Microphone problem can be sorted out by voodoo sound plus, download it off the market.

Yes, it might be crazy or strange but i'd like to get a new x8 with cypress. Actually I have a black X8 with synaptic but I would SO like to have a cypress x8.I have still 1 year of warranty. I was wondering if it would be possible to brick my phone (not by breaking it of course -_-') and how to do it to make the store where i bought my x8 think that my x8 is DEAD. Maybe they would after give me a new x8 (with cypress if i'm lucky ) . I'm sure a lot of people already thought about that "strange plan" but it would be very thankful if you could help me and snptc owners
Also, i have gingerdx v018 my bootloader isn't unblocked and as i said i have synaptic digitizer.

Huh i was wanting to just smash my phone to the ground when i find out i have synaptics.... but now i dont really care pinch to zoom its enough for me
stock rom - not rooted , cuz i brick it and need to do everything again..
just screw urself while unlockin bootloader. thats super brick, however u must make a good excuse for urself

dammit,i wonder why i didnt think of doing this in the first place. the workers where i bought my x8 didnt even know anything about the phones they r selling. maybe i will do it when my warranty is one month left

i have this better idea, customize your phone, and sell it higer because you make it faster and better, or if you want to destroy your phone try this, enter root explorer go to the main memory put a virus there and then delete every thing: result, your phone doesnt have anything i think that it wouldnt boot, when you give the phone to the service, it will have a virus in you understand? pm me if you didnt understand

Put your phone in a microwave for some time and your motherboard will burn.
But do it at your own risk.
Update your phone using pc companion and in the middle of installing eclair process pull the usb cable and said the power is down when i upgrade my phone

from what do i know, most of the company are only will "replace" your phone if your device die about more than 80% of your warranty time.
After that, they will only "repair" the damaged part.
so, good luck for you to claim a new phone.
about the virus part, i guess that is impossible to hard brick our phone if there is bootloader locked, and don't forget our system based on linux. normal windows virus will not work on it.
Friends my problem is-
I was playing many racing games like raging thunder.. etc.
When i tried playing istunt 2 i dont know why but i needed to keep the phone totally vertical to stabilize the board and even while playing raging thunder if i keep my phone horizontal the car just keeps on turning towards left..
Whenever i enable auto rotation and keep cell horizontal the screen gets rotated but when i make it verticle it still remains horizontal.....
I have attached two screenshots showing the angle from smart tools in verticle and horizontal position.
Please suggest if its software or the hardware that is causing the problem..
Ps. Please dont suggest flashing new firmware or try other rom..
I have done that many times but still no luck

According to me...
Your device is not callibrated proparly..
Just goto settings>display>callibration and callibrate it..make sure its on a flat surface before u press the callibrate button...

I had known about calibration but never thought that this could be the reason.
Anyways it worked for screen orientation and i should check it for games too..
Just a single problem
The bob never comes to centre no matter hiw much i try to keep it on horizontal plane..
Its somewhere here.....

Btw the bob will come in centre when u put it in same position when u calibrated it...

The Bob is at the same position always and I think it has got a problem with creeds..
Coz when I calibrated with stock it was in center..
Btw it is working properly now, so no worries...

I have a galaxy y and the problem is that the battery drains on full charge within an hour whether it's on use or standby.
i tried replacing the battery still the problem remains.
i was using repencis rom when the problem started then i switched to jellyblast still the problem remains

According to me battery savers dont help at all..infact they consume battery..1st find causes of battery drain..use cpu spy to see whther deep sleep is working or not..also use better battery stats.
Also calibrate ur battery..(google it)

If yes then i don't thing that it is a problem you could solve by apps or tweaks ! - take it to service center immediately !

yeah,one hour is too fast..
in my stock factory rom,i still got more than 2hrs for heavy gaming.
try to borrow and use your friends battery for a day,see if the problem still
if no,then your battery is the problem,and you should buy a new one b4 the battery damagging your phone.
if the problem still,take it to SSC,just like Nikufellow said

I also installed another roms nd flash stock rom but no luck at all
Then i took my cell to service centre nd got repaired

i wud suggest u to flash the stock rom via ODIN instead of unrootng it....as flashng Stock rom wud unroot ur phone n make it as d one earlier....n evn calibrate ur battery
I dont think flashing via odin unroots the phone..

yeah infact i had bought a battery thinking the battery is at fault. still the same problem. fortunately the shop keeper was kind enough to refund it
