This is for moto, verizon, and google we want official froyo. I think I speak for xda as a whole when I say this. So stop being mega douches and release it already before I get angry.(you wouldn't like me when I'm angry) lol

yea,,,this will get it to us quicker. WTF?
Yeah. This is a funny post

Damn right it will get it to us faster, unless they want me to hulk up and go up in the corporate headquarters and start smashing over priced smart phones. I hulk into a phone nerd. You have been warned. (key the dramatic music)

As I doubt this will get it to us any faster. This did bring a small chuckle on a rainy day so job well done.
FYI; Google around released Froyo update to Motorola, which released to Verizon, which they are testing for release bugs so it doesn't ruin to many customer phones at OTA launch like the other Froyo updates have done in the past. So its Verizon holding Froyo goodness from us...

Screw Froyo, let's demand Gingerbread! Google is set to release that in late October.
It doesn't matter my phone is already obsolete. I read that moto is releasing the droid p.o.s in a few weeks. It has a blow job app built in. haha I bet that is bloat that you devs will leave alone. Lol

Shhhhh! I think it's working!
I hate to say I told you so.........

Verizon insiders already knew, and leaked, the release date prior to your original post. Don't act like you did us any favors.

You're just hating cause he was the one who scared moto+verizon and made them release it right away, admit it.
I mean, hulk threats... You gotta comply when those start coming in.

/End this lame thread
I'm making a thread for this because I know it will get buried in the issues thread.
I just figured something out....
To all the people who complained that you can no longer one-touch re-dial from the call log...
You're wrong
You can now one-touch SWIPE re-dial AND message from the call log.
Just swipe left or right on an entry in the log.
PLUS......it makes a cool little rainbow effect.
Another thing for us to theme )
Your welcome

lol I watched the entire video and at first I thought wow if anyone could make this useful and cool.. it would be google.. but then i realized that the guy doing the actions was really weird and the motions are just to out there.. ex. sending an email involves you licking your thumb and motioning that your placing a stamp.. it then hit me that i am gullible.. google 1 me 0

If you dl IRIS and use IVONA HQ you'll get good really high quality sound when IRIS replies. My phone is a british woman.
Iris just isn't there yet. Iris is good for a few smartass remarks that's about it.
Didn't even think that app was there thanks

You have to have Pico TTS or an app of that nature and the Google Voice Search app.
To OP:
Siri is probably the most over rated feature in the history of phones.
This is funny

I said feature, not design.
When I read about Siri it seemed pretty cool, so I started playing around with what is built into the stock gingerbread android build. (Just hold the search button until the Speak prompt appears). It's actually pretty good. Not as conversational or integrated as Siri, but it works pretty well for sending voice texts and generally navigating the phone.
And yes, Iris is good for a laugh.

Check out Skyvi - https://market.android.com/details?...id=com.bluetornadosf.smartypants&rdot=1&pli=1.
it has a 4.3 rating. haven't tried it out myself yet tho. it incorporates Wolfram Alpha, which is what siri uses i think.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't want to/expect to talk to my phone like it's a person (and have it perform results I expect.)
Saying "weather" and having my phone take me to the weather makes infinitely more sense than asking it "Will I need to wear galoshes to work?"
Granted, some of the actions might need some natural language, and might be nice, but a lot of what I've seen from Siri demoed is just asking simple things in about as dumbass and roundabout a way as possible.
Jeannie is just as good.

I can't wait till we see this on the Vibrant. Check this out!
I honestly do not think their comparable.
Siri still has a + side to it, for example you can ask it something in any way you want to and it will reply, Google Now does not, yet anyways.
Anything else, Google Now has done better so far, organization, information, etc.
Sir I seems more life like but information providing is not that great but with Now you have to say it like you are googling it

maybe I'm old fashioned, but I just don't see the appeal of either system here. I don't want my phone talking to me.

I agree. There should be a setting to turn off voice if it already isn't there.
I would just like the information without the phones voice.
Oh come on, you wouldn't use this at all (excluding for actual google searches)?

I've been using voice transcription a lot more recently, texting, searching, etc. Dragon go in Swype is pretty good. I would definitely use Now.

I agree with you about the latest beta Swype's Dragon Go usefulness. And Nuance is our competitor. I can respond to 10-15 emails in a 40 minute dog walking session.
