T9 sucks-pissing me off, please help me to delete

I am using the Jaguar 3.1 WM6 custom rom. I think there is a hack that re-enables T9 predicitve text, because every time I go and disable it in Settings/Input, it somehow re-enables itself.
I really, really HATE predictive text. It pisses me off. It is annoying. PLEASE, I have read the wiki's, searched the forums, googled...I am pretty sure there is a reg entry to permanantly disable this bane of my texting existence. I just cannot find it.
If anyone knows of a hack to disable or even delete T9 texting, please, I would appreciate knowing what it is. As always, thanks in advance for your time and input.

anyone find a cure to my T9 woes yet??? If there is a fix anywhere, I'd love to know about it. Again...thanks.

Folks, still looking for a registry hack to PERMANENTLY DISABLE predictive text (T9 sucks). I want to go beyond Settings/input/etc...I want the damned thing off for good, never to return!!
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Please?
I have seen threads in other device sections, but none for the Wiz. Also there is a cab in the "Black Diamond" thread that says it disables T9, but it would not work...it is perhaps sensitive to that rom. After 2 months, I still have not found where to look for T9 in the reg settings and purge this f**king thing for good...or at least disable it.
No replies? Maybe you're not asking the right people...
Can't even FIND T9 as a feature/option on my Wizard. Are you sure you're even in the right thread, here? Seems like you should post this to the Wizard WM6 thread, not the standard Wiz thread...

T9 is an option via settings/input. I had it on WM5 and it is still on WM6...I don't know if it is called specifically T9...but it is listed as word completion. I do not want to make a duplicate thread, so I won't re-post in WM6. I would like to permanently disable the WORD COMPLETION feature. It will often re-engage after a reboot, then I have to go in and untick everything. I don't want to even have to worry about that...I want it dead. Reboot or not, I want it to be set as keyboard WITHOUT any word completion settings...ever. I thought perhaps in the registry under HKCU/ControlPanel/Sip...but from there, I am unsure which action would kill the T9 feature.
If anyone has any ideas to help me out, I'd really appreciate the direction to go, so that I can disable word completion...for good.
Thanks.
Ok...so going into my reg entries...I modified the sip to be "0" from previously being "4". I powered off, not soft reset...but on power up, it restored to "4" again. When I go into Settings/input/word suggest and untick, it changes from "4" to "0". So what I am wondering is this...
Is there perhaps a different number modification I need to enter to permanently disable this, or can I just flat out delete this sip entry?? And if I delete it, will it just come back on the next reboot, or conversely, would deletion harm my device?
HKCU/ControlPanel/Sip/SuggWords = 0x0 (0) (when unticked...also via physical modding of registry) I would like this HKCU/ControlPanel/Sip/SuggWords = 0x0 (0) entry to remain permanent despite resets.
Help...please. I'm getting frustrated.
Hi... I have a similar problem.
I want to disable the predictive text functionality but I can't seem to find a way to do it. Even when I disable on the settings it still keeps prompting the words, this is really annoying when typing on IM.
Any clue to fixing this??
Were you able to find a solution for your case?

Changing Default Keyboard?

Just out of interest and im not really a fan of the default one. I have recently installed the Touch HD? Keyboard cab which has a really nice keyboard that is big enough to be used with fingers, is there anyway of setting this as the default instead of always having too select it instead of the small blue one? Hopefully it's just a registry setting but I can't seem to spot anything.
I don't think anyone seems to have asked this before either, certainly nothing came up in a search of default keyboard.
I don't have my X1 yet, so I'm afraid I can't comment on your problem.
But, I was wondering, does the hardware keyboard still work correctly (@, etc.), and have you lost predictive contacts with the hardware keyboard also? I'm trying to get a list of what to install when I get my X1, and I'm kinda stuck with regards to the keyboard, Touch Pal seems to be the way to go, as it doesn't replace the original DLL.
I went into settings->Input and switched it to full QWERTY, Now the HTC one pops up instead of the blue one.
by doing that, after soft reset the ketboard returns to the original small blue one...
I tried to switch it in iput settigs but i still ge the blue one. Do I need to do anything on the registry?
Get SKTools (not the Standard one, the full one) and set default keyboard there. The standard WM6 config page doesn't seem to remember settings when you try set the Touch HD keyboard as default.

I have installed a few different keyboards on WM6 with my xperia and all of them have not changed the layout of the hardware keyboard, it has not changed at all. It's only the software keyboard. Predictive contacts? Predictive words? It certainly suggests words on the normal blue one, though I haven't noticed it on the Touch HD one, though to be honest I don't like anything predictive.
I have also been changing it and yes it sticks with it but as soon as the phone is switched off and back on, it changes back so I presume it's something in the registry but i've no idea what to look for. Certainly "keyboard" doesn't show anything or indicate anything that could be changed.

It's under the Maintenaince => Input Methods. Click on the Category button to get there.

Changes to default keyboard via SKTools is permanent, it stays even after phone is switched off/on.
Thanks for the help thus far. I have been using SKTools since you mentioned it now and have found on a couple of occassions that it doesn't save and I need to change it. The majority of the time it does. Now you can enable/disable certain parts but the wierd thing is you cannot fully default to a different keyboard. When I select the Full QWERTY keyboard as default it sets and says Completed 1 in a little pop up box (I think it's completed) Regardless once you do that, if you try and disable or remove the default Keyboard (wm6 default) it says that you cannot because it is set at default and you must select another to be the default first. Which contradicts itself because it won't let you.
It's obviously a registry key somewhere that can be changed but to hell if I can find it. Im only using SK tools for this purpose so it would be nice to find it and then remove the utility.
Any further ideas?
how come i also install the HD keyboard but i doesnt seem to work??? even when i change to compact keyboard it still remain the same.... someone help mi pls....

did you soft reset after installing??
Here's the registry setting that did the job for me:
## ENABLE HTC FULL QWERTY AS DEFAULT KEYBOARD ##
RegWriteString("HKCU","\ControlPanel\SIP","Default Im","{36BC8FF6-8241-4c36-ABDE-204885471FEE}")

Thanks Prosto that did the trick though I seem to have broke something. I don't think this is related but...
After I did the registry change I uninstalled SKTools and restarted the phone, then tried to start windows media player. While it starts, as soon as I try to play any type of music/video, look in the library or update library the phone freezes and I have to take the battery out to reset it. Don't understand where I was going wrong with this, i've obviously buggered something up but not being able to listen to my music is a big downer! Don't suppose you would have any ideas?

Minor Issue Please Help

This is minor so please excuse me!!
In my stock ROM i never had this issue, which was 1.43...
when i am typing and I type an i it used to change it to an I
when i type i.ve/i've it would change it to I've
same with i.d/i'd it would change to I'd
but now when I type i it stays as i
and when i type i.ve/i've it changes it to i've
is their any way i can always have it change i to I
i.d to I'd or i'd to I'd
i'm or i.m to I'm
also i have added the I'd/I'm/I've to the wordlist and it says word added but it changes nothing.
i just think it looks better and again sorry for such a minor kinda silly question but it would be great if their was some doc file or reg file i can change to always have my capital I
many thanks
EDIT:
managed to fix all except my capital i by adding them to the eT9MyWords.exe file, which was in LEO's tips
still would love for one of you guys to say how to make it so when i type an i it changes to I like in my stock ROM!!

Adding words in xt9

Ive had a hunt for this query through the search but havnt spotted anything so far. The best way to explain is with an example. Im using the compact qwerty keyboard. It also happens in the normal keyboard but not as often (as the words suggested are generally more accurate!)
Il be typing letters for a word, say, 'tiddlywinks' (which at the moment isnt in the dictionary). so i type t, i, d, d which suggests tidd but then i press 'l' which then doesnt suggest 'tiddl' but infact suggests 'tuddl' as the only word.
So, i want to add a word, so i click the down arrow button thing which then lists the only word ('tuddl'), an 'add word' button and an 'x'. So i press add word, but that adds 'tuddl' to the message. I can type tiddlywinks in the ABC format, which appears in the little bar that popped up, but it doesnt add anything to the message.
So at this point, the message im typing has the only word as 'tuddl'. I have to then delete this word and then retype tiddlywinks in the standard way to add it to the message. A bit annoying.
Does anyone know why this happens? ANy way to stop it? Ive tried to explain it exactly as it happens, though its tricky :|
Thanks
Steve
Bump!
No suggestions at all for this? Is it just my device?
i dont have the same problem as you.. but my phone has a hard time remembering words... like " i'll " ...there is no way i can add it to the dictionary... i'll add it and it seems to add it but when you go into another thread and type the word again it doesnt pick it up, it suggests " u'll
"... and god forbid you do a soft reset, most of the words i added are lost, expecially spanish words... blah,
theres still a bug in the messaging app/tools
Here you go:
http://www.bytetips.com/how-to-add-delete-backup-t9-added-words/
This shows you how you can backup your words but more importantly for you, it reveals the built-in application we have which is perfect for creating new words that actually stay! For example, have it shortcut'ed in your start menu and when typing a text and need to add a word that wont add, open the app, add it, go back to your text message and there you go, its there!
Works for me, hope it works for you!
Thanks il give it a go.
Though it seems to suggest, from the comments above, that the words should add to the message as i type in the new word after pressing 'add word'.
The question is, why wont it let me, hmmm!

[SOLVED] How to enable auto correct on Samsung stock keyboard?

I have the T-Mobile US variant of the Note 4 and I like the Samsung stock keyboard. What boggles my mind is the fact that the "auto correct/auto replacement" option doesn't seem to exist. From research online, that option seems to have been disabled in the US due to some Apple litigation.
To clarify, the row on the top with auto-corrected words does appear, but I have to tap that word, not spacebar, in order to correct the word I'm typing.
Any way to enable this?
Solved my problem. Had to edit /system/csc/feature.xml file. Changed a bunch of options, but for autocorrect, this is what you must do:
Find
Code:
<CscFeature_Sip_ApplyAutoCorrectionPatent>true</CscFeature_Sip_ApplyAutoCorrectionPatent>
and replace "true" with "false"
Also find:
Code:
<CscFeature_Sip_DisableAutoCorrection>true</CscFeature_Sip_DisableAutoCorrection>
And change "true" to "false".
NOTE: You need root in order to change these.
I'll look into making an app that modifies these, as there are quite a few nifty options here.
Thanks for this. Flashed a custom rom and this feature was disabled which sucked cause I'm so used to it lol
I tried this and it didnt work. I flashed a custom ROM that is debloated and my keyboard was fine, but the predictive text bar above the keyboard is blank. There are no suggestions or autocorrect. I tried this and it didnt work.
Any suggesstions?
