I am hoping this exists or there is someone willing to code for it. I like the HTC Sense messaging widgets, and Launcher Pro is now throwing there own into the ring, however I have never seen a widget that lists all the Google Voice inbox items. Anyone want to go for this?

Hello everyone
I recently bought the HTC Magic and I am very satisfied with the sync it does with the Google apps, which is really seamless.
What I would really like though is being able to call numbers directly from calendar entries. I have names of clients, followed by their numbers as calendar entries.. Does anyone know if there is any way I could do that? Is there an app maybe out there that could do that?
Can anyone point me to a developer who could maybe program that?
So far the only solution I have found is to ask Google to sent me an SMS reminder with my appointment. The SMS is clickable and the telephone numbers inside the SMS are callable as well. But I don't want to be doing that, since I am making a lot of calls everyday.
Thank you all for your time and help

Hey everyone,
I am wondering if y'all figured out if google voice can refresh itself to get text messages. My friend's phone receives text messages ONLY after she refreshes Google voice.
Anyone else have this issue or not issue, nuisance?
I don't think anybody really understands what you are asking. What phone does your friend have, and are you referring to the text messages that are forwarded to the phone from Google Voice, or the text messages that are sent directly to the phone, or something else entirely (viewing Google Voice text messages in an application or web browser)?
It's kind of hard to answer a question when I have no idea what you're asking.
As far as I know Google Voice is not capable to run on WP7. I tried it through the browser and it required a download which WP7 cannot accomodate. So yes please clarify the question and maybe we can help.
Are you perhaps talking about one of the GV apps ?
There are two (or maybe three) unofficial Google Voice apps in the market. That's what OP is asking about.
Remember those are unofficial 3rd party apps and each has their own pros and cons.
WP7 API currently is quite limited. To make full use of Google Voice capability, Microsoft need to open up API furthermore so that Google will port an official Google Voice over.
FYI, on my Android phone, the native Google Voice app is tightly integrated with phone dialer pad so that you don't need to use a separate dial pad to call through Google Voice. Also, the multi-tasking capability means Google Voice app can sit on the background to receive text messages and voice mails. These are currently not possible on WP7. One of the Google Voice app needs to setup a dedicated server (from donated funds) to support the push notification.
Three advantages about Google Voice:
* cheap international calls on your cell phone
* free SMS
* free visual voice mail.
Having a problem with Google Voice Actions that I've already worked on for a long time. Need some "Special Heads" to help me!
Have Nexus 4 with Stock 4.3. I run an app called Sliding Messenger that I use as my SMS App (check it out if you haven't tried it; it's GREAT!).
The first time I sent a text from my Contact List, I was asked (as I should be) if I want to complete the Task using Stock Messaging, Google Voice, Skype, or Sliding Messaging (the 4 messaging apps I have on my phone). I selected Sliding Messaging, and all has been well since. Now, if I send an SMS directly from my Contact List, it will automatically go to Sliding Messenger as the default without asking (as it should). In addition, if I use a third party App to check the App Defaults, Sliding Messenger IS listed as the default SMS Program. All seems well!
BUT! If I try to send an SMS using Google Voice Actions, it AGAIN asks me my choice of Apps to complete the task with. BUT it only gives me TWO choices, either the Stock Messaging App or Google Voice. No choice for either Skype or Sliding Messaging (which is ALREADY my default).
1. Why is Google Voice Actions not recognizing my default SMS App?
2. Why is Google Voice Actions not giving me a choice of all my installed Messaging Apps (as I got when I first clicked from my Contact List?
I've done all the "usual things (uninstalled/reinstalled all my Messaging Apps, and Reset App Preferences from settings. It still doesn't give me the choice. I've spoken with the developer of Sliding Messaging (great guy!), and it DOES work on his N4 running 4.3.
As a last resort, I went back to factory settings, reinstalled my Apps, and still no joy.
Any ideas from the ones out there with bigger/more "Special" Heads than me is GREATLY APPRECIATED!
I've been using Tasker for a few months now and love it. I went ahead and purchased the GV Settings plugin to work with my Google Voice account, but I can't seem to get it to work. When I try to configure the task, I'll go into the GV Settings plugin, make my changes, then hit save and Tasker just goes back to the task, but there's no GV Settings item. It's almost like GV Settings just crashes before it creates the task item. I have noticed that in my notification bar, I'll get the Tasker icon and "Active" but thats it. I can't configure GV Settings at all. I've tried emailing the dev, but no reply yet. I'm on a Sprint Galaxy S4. Nova launcher. Not rooted. Pretty stock setup.
Any ideas from the hive mind?
Thanks.
Hi folks, I just got the Axon 7, and I have the MiFavor 4.0 contacts app as default, but the SMS app as Google's native.
So whats happening is, when I get a text message from a number and then go to add that number as a contact, the Contacts layout that pops up is missing that blue plus sign that would let you add the contact as a New Contact.
The only way around this is I had to find a Contacts only app on the Marketplace, and install it, and when that app pops up during the "add contact" action that is started in SMS, that app offers me the ability to add as New Contact.
Anyone else have trouble with this or is this a known bug?
Thank you folks.
I too have this issue. Makes adding folks to my contact list a chore.
Also, the axon 7 doesn't ask me where to save the contacts, phone or Google.
I hope they fix this cause it sucks.
You could use Third party app like textra, haven't had any issues with it.
Signal is another good free third-party SMS app with additional features.
PixelPhone (paid app) is a good third-party contacts/dialer app.
