My Droid isn't receiving my Gmail emails, I have to manually sync my phone to get my emails. Anyone having this problem? I have my phone rooted.
Do you have set to only sync when on wifi?

There's an android widget called ' power control'. Make sure the little circle icon with the circular arrows is on. Somehow I had mine turned off and it caused this same problem.

i had this same problem. Found this solution.
Try this: gmail>hard settings button>accounts>hard settings button>account settings>be sure auto-sync is enabled
I am having the same issue and I am not understanding you instructions as far as where to go to try and solve the issue.
Same issue here. I get my other emails, just not gmail. I have to manually push them through with a refresh. Not cool.

Menu/settings/accounts/gmail/
Check the sync Gmail box and/or
Contacts and Calendar if you want these sync'd as well..
Another easy way to enable auto sync is to put a power control widget on 1 of your home screens and make sure the circle with 2 arrows is enabled.
Hold on empty space -> Android Widgets -> Power Control to get the widget on screen
Nice solution @Ryphez Love it!

Just got my droid 2 global and like it so far except for battery life its a splendid device. I like to social network widget that shows facebook updates, but I don't want it to sync all my facebook contacts to my phone. Is it possible to disable this feature in the widget?

In contacts/ settings you can disable showing facebook contacts

Thats what i thought as well, but in my contacts, when i go to settings, all i see is my phone contacts, google and my corporate exchange account. No facebook. In the socia networking account settings twitter has the option to disable contact sync but not facebook
I meant you go to contacts, press menu button and there is this option to 'fade in' or 'fade out'. You click on that and it will give you the option the fade out your facebook contacts. Im not sure whether its called fade in/out since Im coming from a german device.
Could you find it?

Hide/Show is the setting!!
Thanks so much for helping me and not flaming even though the answer was simple, when switching from iphone 4 to droid some things require a different way of thinking or different approach that is not immediately obvious. So to me i was totally stumped but now i have it just the way i like
I don't see a hide/show setting on my droid 2. Is this because I'm on an original droid 2 and not the global? Id like the facebook contatcs to disappear, especially in the address field when I type a new text message.

I went to the contacts icon on the bottom of my home screen. Then pressed the menu key and Hide/Show was one of the options. I wish i knew how to take a screen shot for you, but im still trying figreu that out myself.
I have "display group" in my contact settings where I can choose to see only google contacts. But the facebook contacts still show up in all contacts and in the contact field when I type out a new text message.

what firware are you running on your droid 2?
2.2.30. Maybe there are some bigger software differences between droid 2 and d2 global

Anyone have a clue as to why my stock atrix stopped auto syncing gmail. I don't even see a selection for turning on or of auto sync.

I had to do this too after a power-saver app disabled sync and I uninstalled it before restoring the power settings. Worked like a charm.
Thanks that worked. Awesome

Seems that ever since I bagan using ROM's on my N7 I have been unable to automatically sync my gmail. This is the 3rd one that I've tried. Ensured that all settings are set up correctly (Gmail sync and Email notifications on) and of course my GNex has no issues retrieving email. I can manually tell it to sync and it will, but otherwise nothing. Tried deleting the account and restoring and not seeing any change. Also cleared the cache and nothing changed. Anyone else have this issue?
Since yesterday I have the same issue. I had to reinstalla the rom on my phone, restore all the apps with TB, everything works but the mail even if it is checked sync they don't sync...the same for calendar too. I have to manual sync.
Tried delete account, uncheck e check sync, delete cache , delete update and redo update...nothing seems work...I really don't know what to do...
Try putting the power widget on your homescreen and press the sync button on the widget. It sounds stupid but ive had to do it once in a while.

My power widget doesn't have any "sync" button, just wifi, brightness, rotation and bluetooth...I have an ICS rom...
I notice if I take a look in the google account settings, even if the email is sync checked the time of syncing doesnt cheange, it is the last I manually sync...

Settings - account - Google - click on your email, make sure your Gmail account/sync is checked.
Yes it is... But I saw not only Gmail is not sync, but also calendar, drive ecc., this mean there is a problem with Google account sync... Time of last sync is when I manually sync...
I also notice the wifi icon, when I'm connected to wifi is gray and no blue...I remeber it was blue when the google account was working...
Honestly I'm really confused... Don't know what to do...
UPDATE: I saw I cannot access to my google talk...I'm offline, I try to turn on but very quick windows and then it keep offline...

Starting last night Gmail does not push any email to my phone. Any ideas what happened? Could I have stopped a process that it needs(not Gmail app)?
Did you check your settings? Not trying to be am a$$. Only reason I ask is cause Ive run the root process twice on my Note 3 so far. First time everything was fine. Second time I had to sign in tp google twice, and sync for gmail and other sync options weren't checked

I had this issue. I turned on WiFi and it started to push my emails. I turned it off and it seemed to work fine.
I tried it but it did not seem to work although I was not connected only had WiFi on.
I had this happen too. I had to go into gmail settings, and then click on my email addy. On this page go to the "manage labels" button and make sure your boxes are set to sync and notify. I use like 5 different inboxes so I had to enable sync for each one. It took me forever to find this and I was going insane trying everything to enable sync. I still have no idea what causes this activity.
I've had this happen on galaxy devices. I usually go to Gmail and clear and restore defaults then that usually fixes it. If not then go to accounts and sync and disable sync then re-enable it. One of those should work

I saw that the notify flag was off so I turned it on. I will see if that fixs the problem.
Cracks the lcd screen on my S4 so was forced to replace it with a new S5
First couple days were spent getting it set up the way I wanted. Seems that while tweaking setting I changed something that has caused me to start getting two sets of notifications for gmail. Strange thing is, they never quite track. One shows 4 new emails and the other 3. If I go into Gmail and turn off notifications both go away.
Anybody have any idea why this would occur or how to fix it.
is there any chance you set up your email using 2 different mail client app?

Not consciously. I only have the gmail app and aquamail set up on my phone. And aquamail only has my home email. Both of the notifications are showing gmail. If I tap the notifications they both take me to gmail.
go to application manager and clear data of gmail, then run it again to see if it fix your problem
