[Q] Hd2 UA works for ATT sim card ? - HD2 General

Does anybody know hd2 usa work for att sim card? I am flashing the spl to use the package 3 provide by cotulla and try to make it works... But ATT sim card just cant use in the hd2 usa....If anybody know about it please post i will be very appreciated thanks a lot

Yes it will work, but you must remove the simlock off the HD2 and you won't have 3G

How do i remove the simlock off the HD2?

Get an unlock code. Either from Tmobile or an online unlock code site.
This has nothing to do with ROM development.

i do have the unlock code from Tmobile USA, when i changed the AT&T Simcard it doesn't popup any thing, please let me know, what may cause that problem can't do the unlock procedure, my two causin had the same phone, they using same AT&T simcard to unlock it....i need some help and feed back...

If you have the tmous hd2 then you will have to flash a rom that doesnt have the preconfigured tmobile settings in it or look around for the connection setup cab for leo, then it will set up your connection for att....using tmous hd2 on att myself.....could flash the rom i released today...runs fine on att....

Using my Artemis in the USA?

Hey guys, please excuse my noobness, I have read thoroughly but I am still confused!
I have an O2 Orbit (ie Artemis) and I am going to the USA soon.
I've become a bit confused as to what I need to do to my Artemis to get it working with a prepay sim in the states.
I've seen the posts about cid unlocking, but I'm not sure if that's the same as a sim unlock, and I don't want to brick my phone!
I'm not too bothered about cooked roms etc, I have updated to WM6 and I'm reasonably happy with it, I just want to be able to use my phone in the USA.
Would someone be kind enough to take the time to explain what I need to do?
Thanks
I forgot to add, I tried this tutorial to perform a sim unlock:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400445
but unfortunately the 'artemis sim unlock' download link is broken
I think it should already work in the US. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that only phones bought in the US from a provider are SIM-locked. CID unlocking is only used to help you flash your phone to a different ROM, which, as you already mentioned, you are not interested in doing.
I see, so CID unlocking is nothing to do with what I want, I simply need a SIM unlock, assuming my phone is SIM locked.
SIM locking is normal practice for UK service providers, so I assume it is locked.
Is there any way I can tell if my phone is SIM locked, or do I have to test it by putting a SIM card from a different provider in it?

Unlocking HTC HD2 T-mobile US Version ?

Hello guys. I want to know if the HTC HD2 will work on the AT&T network without any problems. If i were to unlock the phone do i have to flash the ROM in order to do so or i have to use a website that will unlock it for me?
u are posting in the wrong section but all u have to do is call t mobile if u bought it from them if not then u have to buy the code from a website
so the best way to do it is through online ?
You cant use any other way like flashing a ROM ? Because i want to run it on ATT
Even once you get it unlocked it will still be handicapped with only being able to use Edge and not 3g on AT&T network.
no type of flashing will unlock it only getting the code from t mo or buying one online.

I will be able to answer this soon as I have just ordered my unlock code from T-Mobile. Apparently it could take up to a month for it to arrive though!
It will work fine. There are no limitations on the sim depending on what software you're using.

I thought I remembered someone trying to unlock the phone while in android and it wouldn't stick... it accepted the code but it kept showing as locked. Maybe it was with WP7... I can't remember. I'm getting my unlock code today, but I have wp7 on nand and android on SD, and I doubt we can sim unlock our phones while in sd android, but I might try it while in WP7 and see.
Wait, are we taking about the PHONE unlock code? Ie, phone is locked to T-mobile etc. or the SIM code, ie, put a pin in before you can use the sim.

As in my phone is network locked to T-Mobile and want to use an unlock code so I can use my phone on another network.
Yes, the 8-digit SIM unlock code can be entered through Android. I did it to my wife's phone 2 days ago.

So did you test it by putting a AT&T or whatever sim card in? Where you able to get 3G on a different network? I will be ordering my Sim Unlock code soon and it would be awesome if I didnt have to install winmo
Got my unlock code today. Put an o2 sim card, entered unlock code and worked fine. Tried with a vodafone sim card afterwards and it also worked fine too.

When i asked for an unlock code i got a 15 digit code, (this is form T-Mobile).
Guys,
I hope we talking about network locked mobile devices. ;-)
My hd2 is on android and I get unlock code. But when I put different sim card, everything's work fine except radio, of course (no service). What is procedure to input network unlock code?
If I remembered correctly, when hd2 was on win6.5 and I put different sim, phone asked to unlock code. Now is a big difference.
Any suggestion?
Someone may explain the steps for introduce the unlock code under android? Because with android installed the HD2 dont ask about unlock code when i pu no T-MOB sim card.
not sure why code is not worknig.
I have an HTC HD2 Leo locked by t-mobile. I installed Android on it. I am entering the code to unlock and I am getting back to the same message again. Do I need to install windows back on it again? I get an error saying incorrect password. Maybe my code is not correct. Any clues would help tremendously. If I put a t-mobile sim card in it I do not get the prompt but again no signal since it is not active.
Thanks,
Sophronis
this may sound strange but my unlock code only worked under windows!! So after spending a few hrs I rolled back to windows enter the code, then back to Android and everything worked fine.

UK O2 sim Locked HD2

Hi All
I have had a quick search (At work atm)
Found various threads to remove the Sim lock but they go on and on and on lol.
As its not my HD2 (Friends who not at all tech savvy)
I have HSPL 2.08 installed along with MagDLR1.13 and of course Clockwork Recovery Mod.
With Android Running.
Just wondering is there a free solution to getting the Sim lock removed.
Thank you...
P.S how the sod do you remove the o2 splash screen
yeah im waiting to see answers...
I just picked up a Tmobile HD2, MAGDLR1.3? and clockwork mod.
put in my AT sim and its locked :\ also would like to remove the Tmobile splash...
Sim lock... Either get and unlock code from T-mobile ( or O2) or buy the unlock code online.. those are the easiest ways
As for removing the the splash screens... those are cooked into roms
The first power on screen is an .nbh file that you can find in XDA many different ones..
While the other screens after the bootloader are ROM dependent so flash a custom rom with a different screen or cook your own and remove it
contact o2 to get an unlock code
flash a stock rom and it will remove the o2 boot screen
You can change the o2 splash screen by looking here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=895089
I bought a o2 sim locked hd2 about 4 weeks ao. I didnt know anyone with an o2 sim so unlocked my hd2 from HTC-Unlocker.org.

[Q] Help Hd2/AT&T problems

I have an unlocked HD2 running Hyperdroid ,tryin to put my girls at&t chip in it. Every time I do it says it needs a sim code, i tried a bunch but nothin works???? Please Help!!!
You need to ring T-mobile and ask them for an unlock code then it'll work. Just say you're going out of the country on business/vacation and they'll happily give you one.
You do know that you have to unlock your phone before trying to use it on a different carrier yeah?
