Hiya,
I used to use my sony clie as my "main address book" and my c500's contact list as the list of contacts i call often.
Now that i have got a M5000, i would like to keep everything on the device itself. How do i transfer the contacts?
also is there a way to transfer the notes?
www.mobile-master.com might work
Re: I have used the Beaming method one by one (IR)
Try beaming them one by one, Although slow not half slow re typing them with your thumb
You can also try Chapura's Pocket Copy, although the program is not free.

Otherwise see the free tutorial here:

Hi all I am new to windows mobile 6.1, well windows mobile period.I have a Macbook and do not have windows on a desktop available at all, which is really starting to bug me. I love this phone but have no real way of using it for what I would like, one of my biggest problems is that I cannot mount it as a USB drive on my mac and therefore have no way of transferring large files to my sdcard. I have tried bluetooth, but cant get it to work right and the only solutions I can find for mounting are $40+, money I really cant spare just to connect the phone to my computer. Any solutions or suggestions, thanks all in advance.
I am also a Mac user (most of the time). Here are some tips:
-I take photos directly to the storage card and just pop it out to transfer them to the Mac. When you plug the card into a regular USB card reader, it will mount.
This way you can also transfer large files back and forth.
Yes you have to take to back off, it's annoying I know.
-I have a corporate Exchange account so there is no need for me to sync locally. I never do. All my organizer data is synced over the air.
BUT if you need to sync it, there are a few choices:
-Buy "Missing Sync".
-Sync over the air to your Google account. Google now gives you OTA Activesync. There are also tools to sync your Mac into your Google account. Basically Google becomes your master DB.
-No experience with this, but I bet there are WiFi network sharing utilities. That could be another way.
-Bluetooth File Exchange is also available (though a bit slow).
Look at the Mark Space Missing Sync programme for mac, it will sync everything and allow you to mount the memory card if you wish.
there's also an apps called SyncMate for mac.,

Sweet Home WiFi
wht it does:
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/auto-upload-sync-android-camera-photos-and-videos-to-computer/
little info from that site:
"Users who frequently use their Android device’s camera, transferring or backing up photos and videos to a computer becomes a regular hassle that they would rather avoid. Sweet Home! for Android (2.1 and higher) is a handy application that automatically connects to a user-specified Wi-Fi network when it is in range and starts uploading pictures and videos taken using the camera to the network drive, media center, or home computer. Suppose every time you return home with new photos or videos in your Android phone, this app will start uploading them to a shared directory as soon as it is connected to your local Wi-Fi network."
P.S.:
this is not made by me... i just found this info and shared it as i thought it might be useful to others... any apps as alternatives that u guys have tried?
I have to try this out after trip uploads his latest masterpiece. I don't know how many times I have forgot to backup drunking pictures of the mates. Plus I'm on my 3rd sd card, the others just stopped working.
I will give feedback later

My phone explorer is also good....
this software had been developed for SE phones for many years now and is an excellent alternative to pc companion.
You can get it to connect to your home network via wifi and automatically sync contacts, messages, photos etc....
I have been using this for a couple of days on android now....seems very good.
EDIT: This is also very good to use a multi mount option on the SD card. It lets you browse the internal (If rooted) and external memories of the phone whilst still having the SD card mounted on the phone....
the whole point is that i dont want to manually connect my phone/sdcard everytime... want it to sync over home wifi... i dont want to use dropbox its unnecessary waste of internet bandwidth from phone to dropbox server then back from dropbox server to my desktop....
................................
FANTASTIC! love this app. Had to use ip address and drop workgroup name. Uploading 176 photos now. I always forget to dump the phone when I do my regular digital camera. Shame it doesn't create folders by date or upload into some date parameter named folder.

Are there any apps that do the same, but to for example dropbox over the mobile internet instead of Wifi?

you can configure Titanium Media Sync; lets you backup to the cloud or your own servers via FTP, SFTP,FTPS. It also supports dropbox too.
My nexus 4 doesn't have an SD card slot, so I'm unable to backup my contacts from my mytouch 4g to SD card to transfer it over. I just cut my SIM card too, so I can't use that either.
Is there a way to backup my contacts to the cloud and then sync it to my phone? I've always added contacts to my Google/Gmail account, however, I'm unable to find a way to access the Gmail contacts on my Nexus 4.
Thanks!

Does dropbox have a contact sync? Not that I know of... unless you're talking about backing up the file to SD card, then transfer it to the cloud then download it on my Nexus 4... I'll try that now!
If all of your contact is in Google Account then you should be able to sync them to the Nexus 4.
It is the Google Phone!
Go to Settings
=> Account
=> Google
=> your @gmail.com account
=> Make sure contacts is checked
Go to People/Contact App
=> Menu Button
=> Contact to display
=> Customize
=> your @gmail.com account
=> check everything
Check back if you see your contacts now.
If not, go to your Gmail => Contacts, see what group your contacts are actually located in, or if they are actually there.
In short, if the contacts are in your Google Account then you should be able to sync it to the Nexus.
If you still can not do that, reply here I'll explain how to export from Google Contact then Import to your phone.
How to Transfer contacts, photos, etc from MyTouch4G
After a couple hours on the phone with tmobile and techsupport, we figured out that the usb cord which comes with the wall charger actually WILL work, it's just a matter of doing first things first. Some of the steps were offered by previous posters to whom I'll give all the credit. The last step was suggested by the tmobbile tech rep in Colorado.
My computer indicated a Removable "F" Drive but when I clicked on it, I rec'd the message to "Insert a disk into the "F" Drive" no matter which USB port I tried on the laptop. With the USB Connected I also tried each of the connections in the HTC MyTouch Settings under Connect to PC, and rebooted/restarted both the computer and phone several times. Still rec'd the same error message, like the laptop was not recognizing the device.
SO..................
1. Make sure the driver for the HTC MyTouch is up to date (search online. mine is a 2006 driver but said no newer version and that it's working properly).
2. With USB Cable connected, On the MyTouch, go into Settings and select "Connect to PC" and make sure that you select "Disk Drive". (The Tmobile rep said that you should also see a USB icon at the top of the phone... I did),
3. You may have to reboot/restart both the phone and computer as I don't know if this was a needed step or not. But do it anyway just to be sure.
4. Then I tried unplugging and re-plugging the USB end into the computer, but it made no difference. So, the tech rep said to try unplugging the end that's connected to the phone rather than the USB end.
IT WORKED. THE COMPUTER IMMEDIATELY RECOGNIZED THE PHONE AND ALL THE FILES/PICTURES/ ETC SHOWED UP IN THE "F" Drive Folder on my computer.
TRY IT ON YOUR PHONE/COMPUTER>
HOPE THIS HELPS.

Hello!
I recently moved from a Windows 7 phone to Android and the thing I miss most is the ability to sync wirelessly my photos from my computer to my phone. Here is how I did it on my Windows phone:
1. I would go into Zune (the software used to sync the phone, similar to iTunes) and choose the folders from my computer to sync with my phone.
2. I would plug my phone into its wall charger and it would sync wirelessly every night when I charged it.
The photos would be synced to my gallery and I was able to see the photos even when I wasn't connected to my phone provider or internet.
Is there any way to do this on my new Samsung Galaxy S5? I attempted to copy my photos using the USB cable, but I didn't have enough room to move them. I had 16GB of storage on my Windows phone, the same amount as my Galaxy, and the photos fit on the Windows, so there is obviously some way to do it.
I can live without the whole no-internet or cell service needed to see the photos, but I would really love to be able to at least access my photos from my phone.
Note: in the gallery, if I scroll down I see a "connected devices" option, and underneath those devices (which are my home laptop and PC) there is "no images" listed. How do I get photos shared between these connected devices?
Thank you so much!
I use google drive fotosync for this so I have all my mobile pictures accessable on every computer where i have internet access and log in to my google account.
With the app FolderSync you can sync special folders with nearly any cloud.

I have quite a lot of photos to sync, probably more than 600. Can you sync a lot of photos?
