i am getting my international note today however i had a couple questions if anyone could possibly help
Will my LTE sim card work on the note?
how would i setup my APN since AT&T thinks i am using their version of the note
( i think it was the PTA apn but i'm not quite sure )
Yes, you LTE SIM should work fine.
On the LTE data plans for AT&T, all three smartphone APN's should work:
wap.cingular
Phone
pta
Google them for the proper settings.
isp.cingular
-and-
Broadband
shouldn't work (unless you're on a tiered plan w/ the tethering feature added).
The upshot of this is that if you're grandfathered into an unlimited plan, with the international Note, even though you're not using LTE, you'll still retain the LTE plan, so you won't get throttled until 5gb instead of 3.
I'm using International note with LTE Sim and have had no issues (other than missing LTE speeds )
I need to switch mine over so they think I'm using they're note i just feel weird going in there asking for a note to use. Steal the imei and bust my note out to jot it down....

im using the lte sim and using pta. ive tried all of the apn's but the pta one works far better where i am than the others. i recommend trying them all and do a few speed tests to find the one that works for you. thats how i found out the best one. i was getting 10-13mbps with the phone and wap combo and i get 14-18mbps with the pta.
leave the imei from the att one on your acct too thats very important att's system thinks its a i717...

I just switched from tmobile prepaid to at&t prepaid (no choice, need better coverage bc I travel a bunch with work, and they pay for most of it). Ever since I switched all my Google services get a server error and can't connect, on cell data only, over wifi they connect fine. Tonight I noticed other apps are doing the same thing, like Falcon pro, things that use g+ for multiplayer, etc.
I've already tried clearing cache and data on Google play and play services. Then I wiped dalvik and cache. Didn't help. Any ideas?

Have you changed any APN settings between the time you used your phone on T-Mobile and AT&T?
sounds like your data speeds are horrible. wiping cache/dalvik has nothing to do with your issue. sounds like your issue is either att prepaid or your apn.

No I haven't touched my apn settings. They all say something with "cingular" in them. I've never messed work apn did so I hadn't thought of that. Any recommendations?

I would agree you might be on AT&T's Edge (2G) network which sucks for doing anything as its so slow. What network shows up in settings>about phone>status?

So with these settings above, I get no mms, can't send or receive. Is there any harm to using straight talk APNs or LTE APNs even though LTE is not supported (officially) on my phone?

They only work if you have that service, same for the mobile data card APN your trying now.
Have you checked to make sure you have 4G (HSPA+), or 3G service from AT&T in your area. Could be you only have 2G service in your area. While AT&T's coverage is better than T-Mobile it doesn't come anywhere close to that of Verizon and they still have a lot of 2G only coverage areas especially rural areas outside of major cities.

Well I'm in Orlando, we have great coverage. That's not the issue. I think my default APN was messed up somehow. I called into AT&T and they wanted me to do a hard wipe of the phone. I doubt that would change anything.

My default APN settings are exactly the same as yours listed above. Also, i have HSPA 10 and HSPA+ 15 showing in about phone. Could this be one of those occassions where the location is so busy that they boot me to a slower signal? I have full bars HSPA at all times.

If your device is showing HSPA+ 10,15 then the phone is getting a 4G signal and yes if too many people are using a tower, or hogging all the bandwidth, at any given time it will slow everyone down. The bandwidth available is finite and has to be split between everyone using it. Try conectng late at night and see if you're speeds pick up.
I only get Edge (2G) at work and sending an MMS is nearly impossible, takes 20 minutes at best to send and Words with Friends won't connect to its server and that uses hardly any data at all. Could be that so many people on on the towers around you that it's down to 2G speeds even though it says HSPA+ on the phone. New York and San Francisco are a couple of areas where AT&T was famous for incredibly slow data speeds with iPhones for years because of all the people trying to use towers at the same time..

Thanks. While I don' expect that is the problem as Orlando is not really a super saturated market, it could be.
I was getting great speeds with the mobile hotspot apn settings, but obviously no mms. Can i use a different set of MMS settings as the top server and proxy settings? also I just realized I have to reset the phone every time i make a change. I probably already found a good working set but didnt do a reset. lol
So, I got my LGv20 through work as I do all my phones and usually just pop in my tmobile sim, mess with the APN and bam, 4GLTE and all is good. But, for the life of me I cannot get 4g or LTE on this damn phone. I know my APN settings are good as I have been using them on my note 7 and s7 edge and a slew of others but the lgv20, like the lgv10 before it, will NOT do lte let alone 4G. I know it can do it as occasionally i will se 4Glte in the display but it goes right back to "H" in a few seconds. Any help to maintain 4glte on this would be greatly appreciated.
What are your APN settings you are using?
I'm using this:

Thanks, same results. I get LTE lit up for a minute then its back to H.
Under mobile networks you have mobile data on, data roaming on, network mode set to GSM/WCDMNA/LTE auto right?
Looking at the Verizon model, it does not support band 12 which could be why you see it for a second (if you have weak band 4 coverage).
Try this if you're willing to mess around with the modem/radio settings
Dial
*#546368#*995#
Go to field test option
Modem settings
LTE Band selection
Choose band 4
Then hit the home soft key and see if that fixes it. You can revert back to auto scanning by going back into that Modem settings menu and choosing Network Mode and setting it to AUTO.
IF you see a band 12, you can try that and see if you can force the phone onto it as well. Keep in mind, until you choose the AUTO network mode, the modem is locked to that LTE band I believe
Do this at your own risk - I use it to turn on/off lte bands personally and don't have issues but each person/phone is different
I tried this a while ago on both a VZW sim and a Tmo sim and it never works. With a tmo sim I get connection problem with MMI code and with a VZW sim it just calls VZW with an error.
That is really strange since the bands support is there and from my understanding VZW phones are all ulocked from the factory.
Have you tried calling Tmobile? Maybe its' the sim itself causing an issue or you're not provisioned properly in their system
Solved!!!!!!!! Use these settings:
Name: T-MOBILE
APN: fast.tmobile.com
Proxy: not required
Port: not required
Username: not required
Password: not required
Server: not required
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS proxy: not required
MMS port: not required
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
Authentication type: not required
APN type: default,supl,mms
however, Under System Select (Change the network mode)
Under the Network mode choose LTE/CDMA and you will permanently have 4glte, I can't believe I discovered this, because I was having the EXACT same problem as you my friend......
Same
Yeah! But you cannot make calls!
I had the same issue when I was using the verizon variation of the V20. I would actually recommend just trying to find the H918 then you can even get the correct the antenna bands for LTE.
Otherwise I just used it with "H+"
Being told that my AT&T Network unlocked S7 edge won't work on T-Mobile for Data?
Does anyone know if this is true?
Is there anyway around this?
I tried there recommended APN settings and I can't get Data?
I'm on Android 7.0, Build Number NRD90M.G935AUCU4BQD4
See post #4 there is a fix!!!

Do you have a T-Mobile sim card? You can use AT&T unlocked phones on T-Mobile networks but not 100% usage. AT&T phones do not use 1700, or 12 LTE band.

Yes. Of course. Talk and text are working, just unable to get data.
I went to the T-mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge forum, and Flashed T-Mobile Firmware, using a modified version of ODIN, and a PIT file.
My phone now boots up as a T-Mobile Phone, In Settings, About Device shows as SM-G9
All At&T bloatware is gone, and now have T-Mobile apps.
I even received a Software update push from T-Mobile, which downloaded and installed.
I never had to root. Android pay works, Data works.
Basically just converted a SM-G935A into a SM-G935T
Here's a link to the thread if anyone else needs to do this.
