sorry to intrude guys but just a quikie and since you guys are devs i reckon your the guys to ask..........................if i un-install some apps (moxier, playnow etc) using titanium un-install button, does it remove all data and associated files eg registry and libs or do i have to do something else to rid my phone of all this other crap like? i uninstalled facebook but if i go to online service accounts i can still log on via that facebook, but im guessing thats more connected to the timescape app
Post moved to new thread to General.
It might still be there, i think youd need to go into settings, applications, manage applications n find the app then when ya enter it clear data n cache.. I think thats the solution..

I need help in restoring the default Messaging app in my rooted phone. I un-installed it during Titanium Backup. I also made a back up of it before un-installing but now I can't find the apk in my Titanium Backup folder. Anyone know how I can restore it? I'm not getting any sms even though I have Handcent installed.
The thing you gotta know about titanium backup is that no matter if u back it up or not, you cant restore stock apps (default)!
wel I had a similar situation altho I purposely took it of cause I had chompsms n I thought that was enough. I've been wondering since that day if that was the cause n I guess u jus answered it for me.
I rerooted cause I didn't know much around that time..
Try install the messaging app below n let me know if it works..
http://db.tt/JlnKmQ
If it doesn't u might need to push it to system, don't have that code on me at mo but I'm sure someone wil b able to provide it!
Hope it helps!!

Ive removed quite abit from my phone including:
Google Mail,
Google Talk
Google Mail Storage
Maps
VPN Services
Network location
Wiper App
Sony ericsson sync
Sony ericsson sync Client Wizard
Street View... to name a few.
Also ive frozen:
Google Partner Setup and Google Settings Provider
And my handset is running sweet.. (*touches wood*)
Thanks for uploading the mms.apk. Well, I eventually flashed back to the original firmware using SEUS, and then restored my apps & data using what I've backup-ed. So things are back to normal.
I have some questions about HTC Sense UI:
First thing; My FB Contacts are linked to my WF Contacts. Their newest Status Updates are under their Names in the Contacts app (sry for bad english I hope youll all know what I mean. If not, ask ). But when I click on the "Updates" Tab in Contacts (dunno if its really called "Updates", the Tab with the 2 Arrows on it) there are "No Updates". Any Explanation why?
And; Are there any Ways to include the German Social Network "SchülerVZ" into HTC Sense (I know, the API is missing but isnt there a way to make a workaround? Use the API the XPeria X8 uses? Sth like that?
Thanks for any help
Robin
and again; Questions? ASK!
Try signing out and back in or opening the fiend stream app and selecting refresh.
And no there is no way of adding another network so sence but there may be a client on.the.market
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
theres a client on market but its crap ;P
No it doesnt work.
The Status Updates still only shown under the Name of a contact not under the corresponding Tab
And, I just have noticed, some of my contacts have never posted anything (according to WF), but thats definitly wrong.....
Any suggestions here?
Thanks
Robin
Try signing out and clearing cache and data(its in settings>applications>manage applications> friends stream>clear cache, clear data)

Which app? Seems clear its out of sync issue as your current update is not synced with the server. Try to uninstall it via marketplace as it will update the list opposed to manually via settings. See if works if not then well next time you do remove it just backup your current stats and sync it to google will save it and hopefully old BS is gone for good.
EDIT: BTW forgot to say ATM I am not aware of any way you can directly connect and amend to any of this backups. Google sure need to give user more control of what data they sync with actual logon which they can access via market.google.com
Titanium Backup has a batch job that will remove all market links for uninstalled apps.
It's free and available on the Market.
Have to try

So I just got my Atrix in the mail, and I'll create a MotoBlur account, but I really don't want to use it. I'm experienced with Android and I will DL LauncherPro but I hear that Blur still runs in the background. ("Has its tenticles deeper than just the launcher)
I don't want to root just yet, but how can I go about taking back control over the phone. What's the easiest way to remove most of the bloatware, and how can I make it so MotoBlur doesn't waste my battery and data plan? I don't want it to sync all my social stuff for me. That's what Pure Messenger is for.
Oh and do any cases fit in the car dock?
Was thinking about just deleting all the widgets, but I'm sure it'd still be trying to sync.

Just don't set up any accounts under the MotoBlur section in Accounts and use third party apps for things like FB and Yahoo. Also, you can just go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications and uninstall all the bloatware. It really doesn't uninstall them from the phone but they won't be running or taking up RAM and CPU, basically freezing them. Don't use any of the Moto apps or widgets either because they require you setup accounts under the MotoBlur section.
OK. So what you're saying is to create a Blur when I first boot the phone up, then go to account settings and delete it? Or just set it to no sync?

No, you need a Blur account to use the phone but you don't need to associate any of your email or social accounts to it. When you go into Accounts it will be broken into two different sections, MotoBlur accounts up top and Other Accounts on the bottom. Do not set up any accounts under the MotoBlur section, just leave it as is. Obviously set up your Google account at the bottom and then download apps from the market to use for other social and email accounts. Don't even bother going back to "Accounts", just use your apps. And again, don't use the "Messaging" and "Social Networking" either because they are associated with Blur. Don't bother with any Motorola widgets either. You'll already have the Gmail app and a "Text Messaging" app in the drawer.

Oh, also, make sure you go to Settings>Data manager and uncheck all those options as well, you don't need them. Set up all your notifications from within the apps you have downloaded.

Wait, are you saying to get rid of Data enabled as well? (enable data access over mobile network)
Wouldn't that then not allow you to sync with gmail over the AT&T network?
Also, how much harm does enabling background data in the settings do? I thought it was just a 'global settings' thing so that it allows for sync?

Right, sorry, just deselect whats under the "Application data delivery" in Settings>Data Manager>Data Delivery
I need some help transfering my stuff...
I've been trying all day and all I've managed is a couple of apps using AppBrain sync.
My google contacts didn't sync either...
Could somebody list out the easiest way to transfer everything? Including:
- Music
- Gameloft Games
- Regular apps and their data
- Contacts
- Pictures and video
I have a feeling using my computer as the vector to transfer would be the best idea for some like the music.

Wait, you want us to disable background data and data enabled over mobile network? Won't that kill every app that needs data?

Well, you can use the built in app manager to "uninstall" the bloatware on the Atrix and the OP has already said he does NOT want to root yet. But if he did I would suggest using Titanium and freeze the apps so you could get OTA updates in the future.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=972459
easiest way to deal with bloatware is to root your phone using superoneclick and then use BloatFreezer to freeze any of the motoblur services (its highly recommended you get another Home before freezing motoblur). BloatFreezer only costs a dollar, while titanium backup is close to $4, use whichever one you want, but i highly recommend BloatFreezer if all you want to do is freeze applications.
Hi all can someone help me with the accounts on my San Francisco Blade running cyanogenmod 7.1. When I add an account it disappears after a few days, the only account that remains is the google account itself. I would like the phone to remember quite a few other accounts such as WhatsApp, Viber, Hotmail, Facebook and Skype. I have experimented with using different profiles but so far no luck at all, cheers.
Do you clear data for the above apps you've mentioned?
Sent from my Blade using XDA app
Not that I am aware of, I guess I could add an account and then clear the data in order to check this out. Where would I delete data and how could I check to see if this was happening? Thanks for your help.

it is not data and cache mate. I am having the same problem i have had this problem from day one cant find a proper answer to it :/
Apps i have in sync:
1) whatsapp
2) gmail
3) facebook
if i reboot the synced apps disappear from the sync menu and if i reboot my phone the apps will also disappear.
it is an annoying problem and wish i could find the answer to it too mate
after asking a few talented devs that i know in real life i was given a simple solution to try and move the apps to the phone instead of sd card and see if the sync settings will save properly.
Although i am sure that on my testing device (my testng toy) the vodafone 858 smart i keep all apps on the sd card and they sync properly so this could be a device problem or something not 100% sure.
Ok. So did it work? I thought maybe its something to do with Dalvik or Cache.
Sent from my Blade using XDA app
This is because u have the apps on ur memory card
When the phone boots, it loads the accounts before loading the SD card and since the apps aren't loaded, the accounts disappear.
Move them to phone memory
I think this will help you. if it does please THANK me.

i am not sure still trying to figure out the problem
Just moved WhatsApp back to the phone, added the account and rebooted and this works, the account is still there, I will now try moving the other apps one by one and report back.

for some reason its working for me to now but i am 100% sure that on my vodafone smart 858 it would sync the apps from the sd card also
I have just moved Hotmail and Facebook back to the phone and rebooted. All accounts are still present in Accounts and Sync settings, thanks for the help people.
great to see that moving the app to phone has also worked for you
