EDIT: 2.3.320. Typo.
Titanium Backup, when asked to restore an app, either A) Reboots the phone (if in "Direct" or "Indirect" mode) or B) Gives an error: "There is a problem parsing the package." (when Classic Installer is enabled)
Tested with busybox 1.18.1 (latest) and 1.16.0 (downloaded via "Problems?" button in TB)
Tested with GZIP compression and No compression
Tested fresh backup vs backup from a couple days prior
Tested with and without saving Market Link
Tested with and without Force to same location
Tested with and without Chuck Norris mode
SU version 2.3.6.1
Most give the same result. Verifying backups gives 100+ errors.
Running Tranquility 3.5 at the moment, though the same behavior happened on stock 2.3.320 (after SBF)

Hi community! i have a little problem. since a few hours i am not able to open my drafts-folder anymore. if i choose folder->drafts my mail programm quits with following errormessage:
"The application Mail (process com.htc.android.mail) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
-- -so i was searching for a fix for this problem. one possible solution was to delete all data over application-manager (settings->manage applications->All->Mail->Clear Data).
it worked only as long as i saved another message in draftsfolder.
-- i also tried to use ROM Manager's option to "Fix Permissions". that worked a few times for other problem, but not this time.
-- i was using DL.DesireZ.v3.3.final.nand by dandiest and yesterday i flashed to new version 3.5. i thought my problem was gone, but its still there..
i dont know why this is happen even if i flashed a new version..
thanks for any suggestions
greetings
EDIT: excess message database over root:
Ok, i did it. i've found a *.db file in rootsystem. /data/data/com.htc.android.mail/databases/mail.db
in this file is all you need. accounts, messages, settings etc.
with an explorer which is able to access root its possible to view and edit this file. i've got my message back (at least the content), now i will try to look what keeps my mailprogramm quitting.

How to deinstall HTC Skins?
i now know why this error happens to me. i now started gparted and formated my sdcard (fat and ext4) and flashed again< the error was gone. haha
so i started to set up my phone and reinstalled my applications. to be sure i tested every time i installed an application my drafts folder.
after install of a HTC Sense Skin called "rEVOlution" from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=801928 my mail programm brings the same error as before when i want to access drafts:
"The application Mail (process com.htc.android.mail) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
so for me this skin causing this error. i know have to know how to deinstall it?
edit: yes thats it. if i change back to default htc skin i am able to access drafts... weird.
solved
to remove the skin and get rid of this error (in this case) you have to delete following files and folder:
/data/data/com.htc.skin.revolution
/data/app/com.htc.skin.revolution-1.apk
then restart. done.

Issues: There might be FC with gmail, then just clear your gmail user data in app settings.

Hi all!
I have a trouble with my Samsung GT-I9010. Once during a call it had rebooted itself. After booting the launcher couldn't start (LauncherPro). There was error -> critical exit -> error -> critical exit -> and so on... After a while I could unload and uninstall LP at all. Stock launcher started and worked fine. But since then sometimes i have a critical error in different apps. The application is closing after error and no data saving.. It disturbs me. I've started to think what to do. It seems to be memory or file system error. I had installed Quadrant Advanced benchmark and tested the phone. The benchmark throws error on I/O test (1/4 - File system writes). Error message: Internal error during benchmark execution. So i've made a conclusion that it is a file system error. But i cant find any tools to check and fix file system errors. Please help me..
I have a stock Android 2.2 rom without root and stock recovery. I have no SD card, just internal 16Gb.
Maybe it is possible to solve my problem without reflashing or wiping..
Thanks.
Hi, i'm having an issue with this rom.
I factory reseted and both caches wiped. then installed base and reboot to this firmware and then back to recovery, flash update.
The issue is after I restore my backup with titanium backup pro (free version).
I get everytime "the process com.android.phone stopped unexpectedly"
What can I do to solve this, the dialer application works, but I don't know what keeps causing this error.
Thanks in advance.
what are you restoring from titanium? apps? or everything
i've just restored apps and system config. I unchecked all system files.
I only restore apps with data if I knew I wasn't having issues. I'll typically install fresh from the market no data just to make sure nothing corrupts the ROM. Sounds like like you are restoring an app that requires something that was blurred out. Try mega 2.0 then 4.3 update.
i personally wouldn't restore sys config. only apps plus data
i had a similar issue a while ago where the com.android.phone process was crashing all the time, it was due to a library that was inadvertently removed when i was modding some system apk files. if you could post a logcat capture it should show why it's crashing.
easiest way i found to do this is to forward the adb logcat output to a text file, from a command line type: adb logcat > logfile.txt
once you get the phone process to crash, you can hit ctrl+c to kill the command from the dos window. if you open up the logfile you just created, you should be able to search for com.android.phone and find a stack trace showing why the process ended.
May wanna try posting in Q&A or if you haven't, add your problem to the Homebase thread in development. May help, good luck.
avoid this rom...thats my solution.
So being the sort of person the leap without looking, I uninstalled Chrome from my phone without fully understanding the issues this would cause (aside from being incredibly hard to restore I cannot update my phone). I have since attempted to restore the app, through various means including manually moving the downloaded apk into the system directory, and manually adjusting the permissions, to using titanium backup to change it for me. But every time I try to update I am greeted with the same error message telling me I cannot update as the file cannot be found "assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/app/Chrome.apk" etc etc.
Is there something I'm missing?
