File system errors - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi all!
I have a trouble with my Samsung GT-I9010. Once during a call it had rebooted itself. After booting the launcher couldn't start (LauncherPro). There was error -> critical exit -> error -> critical exit -> and so on... After a while I could unload and uninstall LP at all. Stock launcher started and worked fine. But since then sometimes i have a critical error in different apps. The application is closing after error and no data saving.. It disturbs me. I've started to think what to do. It seems to be memory or file system error. I had installed Quadrant Advanced benchmark and tested the phone. The benchmark throws error on I/O test (1/4 - File system writes). Error message: Internal error during benchmark execution. So i've made a conclusion that it is a file system error. But i cant find any tools to check and fix file system errors. Please help me..
I have a stock Android 2.2 rom without root and stock recovery. I have no SD card, just internal 16Gb.
Maybe it is possible to solve my problem without reflashing or wiping..
Thanks.

The application Messaging (process com.android.mms) has stopped unexpectedly.

I was getting this error for a while now. So here is the whole thing.
I was using JF1.5 along with Lucid's script. And I started getting errors such as...
"The application Messaging (process com.android.mms) has stopped unexpectedly."
along with, what seemed like, every other application I tried to use. I noticed that it was right about the time that JF1.51 came out, so I thought that maybe the programs I was using got updated without the system being updated or whatever.
I bricked my phone about 1000 times but, with a ton of help from Lucid, I was able to repair the error on the SD card and was problem free... for about a week.
Working fine this morning, I rebooted my phone and am now having the error again every time I try to open a messaging program. I was using ChompSMS the first time and am now using Handcent SMS. I have uninstalled both of them and cannot even open the stock messaging program without getting the error and need to force close.
I did the same steps as last time (as far as I can remember) which were:
- Factory wipe
- Apply JF1.51 update
- Download and run Lucid's script to get e2fsck
- Running e2fsck to make sure no errors
- Run Lucid REM for apps, data and dalvik
When I restart my phone I also get the same error from PF Voicemail+ but the option to wait is also there.
I am driving myself crazy trying to fix it. Everything I have searched for seems to only be problems with images, but mine is even opening the SMS program. BAHHHHHH!!!!!!
JF1.51 w/ Lucid REM
8GB SanDisk MicroSD HC
any news on that?
I also have an com.android.mms error.

[Q] problem: apps fail to install from market

hi, i installed mdeejays android version succesfully, however some apps fail to install via market.
for example angry birds and the latest facebook app. the smaller apps will install without any problem. but the important apps wont. what can i do about this?
i read something about unmounting SD card. i tried that. But still got the problem.
What should i do?
I really want the facebook 1.5.0 app
tnx
Do you get an error or do they just stuck on 100% after downloading?

Click to collapse
I get an error. But sometimes the download just cancels itself.
however, the main problem is the error. because i could download the apk file via rapidshare etc.
But the problem is the error. the error says after the install bar runs:
Application did not install. (in dutch)
The other problem, with the download cancelling is like this:
when selecting an app for download, the download bar starts running.
But after a few seconds the download bar disappears by itself. so eventually, the app never reaches my phone. in fact the download never completes.
so there are 2 problems. but the first problem is worse than the second.
However, it would be great if you could help me to solve them both.
First problem: i get an error when installing certain apps.
second: My downloads from the market wont complete.
sorry for any weird sentences, english is not my first language.
Kinda glad to know that I'm not the only one with the same problem... still trying to figure out what happened.
I know a clean install will fix the problem but I don't want to go through that again...
My phone is a Motorola Milestone running CM6 10.12.22
i just did a clean install from the latest android out there (darkstone superram 0.1) with the dutch vodafone data mod and i cannot download a single byte from the market. the market itself works fine over wifi or G3, but all files refuse to download.
thing that sucks as well is that i have the apk for applanet on the sd card but a cannot get to it as the darkstone lacks a sd card explorer app....
When that happened to me, Market reported an error -18. An online search recommended deleting a hidden directory ".android_secure" on the SD card. I'm running CM6.1 on a CDMA Hero with most of my apps running from the SD. From what I found online, that secure stuff is for Froyo apps2sd... which is why some apps downloaded and installed okay, and why some apps downloaded, but failed to install.
You can also try some cache dumps including Dalvik. Run "Fix Permissions" in ROM Manager. Then try the downloads again. If that still doesn't work, you might want to delete the ".android_secure" hidden directory.
Make sure to do a Nand backup and copy the contents of the SD card onto your computer before attempting any fix. Play it safe.
Good luck.

(ROM)Home Base 4.5.9.1 stock..9/10 (4.3Update (EXT4/LAGFIX)FASTEST ATRIX (DE)BLUR ROM

Hi, i'm having an issue with this rom.
I factory reseted and both caches wiped. then installed base and reboot to this firmware and then back to recovery, flash update.
The issue is after I restore my backup with titanium backup pro (free version).
I get everytime "the process com.android.phone stopped unexpectedly"
What can I do to solve this, the dialer application works, but I don't know what keeps causing this error.
Thanks in advance.
what are you restoring from titanium? apps? or everything
i've just restored apps and system config. I unchecked all system files.
I only restore apps with data if I knew I wasn't having issues. I'll typically install fresh from the market no data just to make sure nothing corrupts the ROM. Sounds like like you are restoring an app that requires something that was blurred out. Try mega 2.0 then 4.3 update.
i personally wouldn't restore sys config. only apps plus data
i had a similar issue a while ago where the com.android.phone process was crashing all the time, it was due to a library that was inadvertently removed when i was modding some system apk files. if you could post a logcat capture it should show why it's crashing.
easiest way i found to do this is to forward the adb logcat output to a text file, from a command line type: adb logcat > logfile.txt
once you get the phone process to crash, you can hit ctrl+c to kill the command from the dos window. if you open up the logfile you just created, you should be able to search for com.android.phone and find a stack trace showing why the process ended.
May wanna try posting in Q&A or if you haven't, add your problem to the Homebase thread in development. May help, good luck.
avoid this rom...thats my solution.

[Q] Updates fail with "insufficient storage available" and apps disappear on reboot.

[Q] Updates fail with "insufficient storage available" and apps disappear on reboot.
Hello,
since a few months, I have two problems with my Nexus 4, running on Rastakat Rom with Hellscore Kernel:
1. Every now and then I get and error message when updating apps that says "insufficient storage available". I googled a bit and found out that this is caused by "corrupted" files in /data/app-lib. Once I delete them (with a root file explorer), the update can be performed without a problem.
My questions: Why does this happen quite often? Why do these files in /data/app-lib get corrupted? What files are these?
2. Sometimes, after a reboot, apps randomly disappear as if they had not been installed on the device. Mostly, I can reinstall them (if problem 1 does not occur at the same time) from play store, but I wonder, how this can happen? I had up to ~15 apps missing after a reboot, which is quite annoying. I tried an "efsck" on the file system from adb as well as a complete wipe, but the problem still occurs quite frequently. Does anyone have a clue, why this happens and how to resolve it?
Thanks for your support!

Oreo B6 ZRA5 ADB sideload: ACCESS_DENIED error when mounting SYSTEM partition

I own a 950FD made in Vietnam, manufactured in August 2017.
Went from AQL5 to ZRA5 using ADB sideload and the "Update.zip" found in other threads, almost everything went smoothly except for a little detail I couldn't help noticing:
There was this ACCESS_DENIED error when the installation process attempted to mount what seemed to be the SYSTEM partition. Regardless of this error, the installation finished and everything seemed to be OK. This problem was also seen by another user from the community. Could it be possible that such action was an attempt to look for ROOT privileges? It is my understanding that the SYSTEM partition can only be mounted with ROOT privileges, not to mention FRP could trigger if something goes wrong, like when you mess with properties or other stuff and forget to unmount.
Any clues on this? I didn't wipe my device yet, I'm awaiting for final release. Battery life is somewhat decent, ZRA5 is stable enough for daily driver. Some applications might stop responding or crash while running on background, this includes Google Play Services and Google Play Store.
Thanks!
i belive you have encryption enabled. id take a look at that
Mine did the same thing, and my phone does not have encryption enabled. Weird.
