Had the same thing happen... make sure they are off in WinMo before you boot Android.

Make sure the button blight is off when you run HaRET. If they are on when you run it they stay lit, off and they stay off.
Should fix your problem.

Also, the amount of power they consume is almost negligible.

This never happens with barebone energy rom. You must be running chuckydroid build.

Battery have strange issue

Hi guys, from about five days my battery seem to work normally, it reaches 100 % when I charge it but when it arrive at 7 / 10 % the phone shut down with no battery. Is it my battery problem or may be I don't know a kernel / rom problem?
Thanks

Update!
This morning windows and android show me the same battery status: 20% left.
I shut down the phone pull out the battery then I start- up the phone and now windows and android show me only 8% left.
again... This can be a battery problem or something others?
Thanks

Sport, as already stated by Thatruth, its an issue with the builds right now, battery isnt fully finished yet and levels will probably be read differently in winmo and android. My own battery will only charge to 97% in Android (Mattc 1.5b) and charges perfectly in winmo (VBN Black RC6.2).
Calm down......

Magldr dangerous?

Can I let my battery drain all the way or will it brick my phone? U red some stuff about it and it freaks me out. I don't want to loose aan 600 eur phone.

** MOD EDIT **
For clarity, if you have problems booting/charging after battery goes flat, do the below and all will be well:
Leave your phone off
plug it in to charge for approx 30 minutes
unplug it and pop out the battery (so it will boot)
replace the battery
boot up the phone
plug it in while it is booting up.

What did you read??
no it wont, no danger at all.
i have no idea where all the rumours are coming from regarding the fear of MAGLDR and brickage, in fact it is far easier to completely brick your phones in a Windows Mobile envoronment than android through MAGLDR.
although in reality it is very very diffucilt to brick a HD2, once i lost all laptop power during a HSPL flash and it was still fine....
Draining battery / Running NANDroid / Flashing through MAGLDR will never brick a phone. EVER. PERIOD.
the only way people have ever bricked a HD2 is when they have a TMOUS handset (american model only) and flash a 51 radio. And even then it can still be revived through JTAG

It wont brick your phone but you may have to pull the battery to charge it. Some users are claiming that it wont charge and the battery has to be pulled. As long as you have HSPL installed your pretty much bullet proof (dont try it though )
Ricey
but the phone doesnt charge while it is turned off!!
Android is dangerous on the hd2. It won't brick, but it will ruin your touchscreen, not many will tell you though

i think it's because people running their phone with android let it gets way way way too hot and it damage the screen but it can also happen to window also
download tempmonitor and keep it under 102F and you should be good
btw i'm positive a person using android would be on their phone more then a person on window 6.5
oh yeah lmao btw i'm saying from personal experience
before i had android on my device i was using window OS, and screen died on me i think it was because i was watching movies on my phone but ehhhh HTC replace it for me for free (^_~)

Why on earth will it "ruin" your touchscreen? I have been using Android on my HD2 since day 1 and also on my HD1 since day 1 and my touchscreen is fine. If this was an issue there would be endless amount of threads about it.
You've simply had a defective device and blaimed it on you using Android when infact its purely your ignorance.
Hey the other week my laptop battery gave up, I was using msn at the time maybe that was the cause??
Jeez what rom are you using? My HD2 never gets hot!
I admit that my HD1 used to get hot in very early stages of android releases as power management was a real issue but those days are long gone as far as im concerned.

I red when fully discharged the battery will never charge again. Because magldr doesn't support charging. And some ppl posted that it doesnt boot further then the magldr.

Beware magldr:
It's true. If you let the battery die completely, it won't charge anymore. It happened to me. Now I'm waiting for my ebay-bought wall charger for my battery. I just hope that when i manage to charge it, my hd2 still funtions. Cuz letting the battery die while on nand android may cause your nand to get corrupted. Then, you can't even access the bootloader.

Well if that was the case and you was faced with no power then you would simply use a battery charging dock.
So worst case you would be buying a cheap charger.
Oh and to set your mind a rest, it must be bs as ive just turned my phone off and plugged charger in and its charging. Only weird thing is that when I unplug the lead led is still red and I have to remove battery and put it back in to power on phone.
? Never mind. That is not helping in any way..

[Q] Reverting to Windows Mobile 6.5

I flashed Android to my HD2 using NAND and now I want to go back to WinMo 6.5. Can anyone tell me how to do this.
Get the WM ROM you want to install and enter the bootloader - turn off the phone and then hold down the volume down button and briefly press the power button. Keep holding the volume down button till you get the tri-colour screen. Connect to PC via USB and run the WM ROM installer.
Download the original ROM or custom ROM.
Put your HD2 in Tricolor Bootloader mode by holding the VOL-down button when powering on.
Flash your ROM.
Where can I get the WM ROM?

Why would you want to do that? Andriod is awesome and better suited to the HD2 than the WM it came with...
But each to their own.. Try the following link...

I'm with Oscar, i am going back too. I have downloaded setCPU and tried all the other suggestions but I am still burning through my battery at a ridiculous rate. I like the Android OS but I need a phone that will stay charged for longer than 12 to 14 hours while in standby!
Android kills the battery. Less than 4 hours a day, that sucks!!!!

I've not had the battery issues you've mentioned. You don't happen to be leaving bluetooth running do you? This has a known issue with battery drain.
I don't use bluetooth and I get extremely nice battery life with the gingerbread android builds.

I get 48 hours without any tweaks at all on almost every Android I'v installed. Currently I'm using CoreDroid and my standby battery drain is average 2-4 ma with Current Widget. You guys are CRAZY for going back to winmo but I guess some people just can't stand a way better OS

Its because you are either using an old/crap rom or you havent done enough research.
I have tried MANY roms and most of them now have excellent battery consumption. Between 1-5mA on standby.
Make sure you try things like remembering to turn off bluetooth/wifi when not using them aswell as have a upto date kernel/rom, also make sure that your radio is a uptodate version.
There is loads you can do, you simply cant be bothered, that is your problem. Battery consumption used to be a big problem, that simply is not true anymore.

[q] help!!!! How do increase my battery life while running android?

hello,
i have an hd2 and i like running android from my SD card on it but i cant get a full days use out of it without it dying.can someone please help im running android 2.2.
and yes i use task killers doesn't help much. thanks
There are several guides out there detailing how to increase your battery life. Many of them tell you not to use a task killer as they actually increase battery usage as it unnecessarily kills tasks that aren't draining power at the time. The most obvious ways are to shut off WiFi, GPS, and Data when they're not being used. After that, conditioning your battery would be the next thing to try.
Please use the search function next time

Cause in standby you can still receive calls ?
You can be waked-up by the alarm ?
Your phone can be very useful and much needed even if you leave it on standby almost all the time
The one obvious and often overlooked battery consumer is simply the screen.
It drains much more than the Wifi, 3G, GPS etc. Thus set the brightness as low as possible, and let it timeout quickly.
wifi
where you can, use wifi as much as possible as this apparently slows down the drain compared to using your data

Ever tought about going NAND instead of a SD version?
If u want best battery life and good speed/everything NAND is the way to go.
I can imagen u want to stay with WinMO, but if u dont .. GoGoGo!
When NAND or even RAM wasnt released i also used SD, but this gives a big battery drain, cause your phone has to keep loading files of the SD all the time (to keep android running).
I use my phone every 10minutes of the day, and i never got half a day on SD, now with NAND like 24hours extreme use.

Consumption of SD and NAND Android

Right now, I'm using SD Android on my HTC HD2..
But it consumes more than 30% of battery power in standby mode for 5-6 hours...
and drains a lot when the screen is on..
1. I'm wondering that how much battery saving will do if I change it into NAND Android?
2. Should it consumes less power and stable like original Windows Mobile 6.5?
thank you
You won't get battery drain which will match WinMo if you use Android, but you certainly shouldn't get such high drain either. Turn off all connections, use JuiceDefender and SetCPU to minimise drain and install current widget to get a better reading. It should be around 7-8ma for an SD build. For me, that amounts to 1% an hour. Also, NAND has better battery life and performance, but bear in mind you won't have WinMo (although in all honesty I doubt this would make a difference )
