Hello,
I have MDA (HTC Kaiser with WM 6.0), which I can connect via bluetooth to other cellular phone (LG without OS). Can I use the microSD card of the LG phone in the same way as it was stuck in my MDA?
At the moment I can connect those two devices, I can even create a folder under virtual bluetooth link and in this folder I can see shared data from the microSD card of my LG phone as it was a folder on my MDA.
Anyway via this connection I can only upload/download files. I can not use the files as it was stored in my MDA, for example I can not directly play MP3, use maps for navigating etc.
Thanks for your advise
Dusty

Is there any way to use my phone as a "memory stick" without having to install sw drivers on a foreign PC.
I just want to plug-in the Wizard (with usb), have the PC to recognize extra RAM (mini SD) and be able to download files - just like a standard memory stick without installing drivers or active sync.
regards
Ulrik
Yes Tou can.
Install Card Export Pro.
Just keep in mind to switch from active sync to Card Export Pro if your device is not connected to your pc.
Any freeware out there, too??
Greetings,
Andreas
I don't have my Wizard yet (hopefully tomorrow). However, with my XDA 1, I just popped the SD card out & put it into a USB memory card reader like this one - http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-2-0-MS-Pro-...590924641QQcategoryZ50526QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Works great, and less than $10.00 U.S.
Hope that helps,

Where do I get Card Export Pro? I can't find it on any English websites :S
Try this http://www.softick.com/pocket-pc/cardexport2/
I could get it to switch to 'usb mass storage device' only after soft reseting my wizard, then it would refuse to switch modes and i would have to reboot again.
Maybe one to keep an eye on as they seem to be working hard to get it to function correctly with the wizard. I will keep testing and keep you posted. As this s/w adds a great feature.
Has anyone got it working properly?
John
I downloaded the software and it works fine on my QTEK9100 - i'm still in the 21 days trial period. I'll do some more testing with loadind/unloading files. So far the turning on/off card works fine. I did a software reset as stated....
hi everyone, i have T-mobile MDA USA, and i have noticed that everytime i try to copy large files (50Mb and up) from my PC to my SD in my phone through active sync cable it is taking forever...it is really pissing me off, when i use my card reader to transfer files it is a lot faster...does any one know what could be the problem? i thought the MDA has USB 2.0 isn't it supposed to be fast!!??
please help.
thanks
It's simply a bug with these phones which badly manage ActivSync ... The only solution is to use an external card reader as you do
hi, guys, i just bought the t-mobile wing and i have one problem with it.
I tried to copy some mp3 files to my wing using usb cable, the mp3 files
are about 128mb, however it took me 40 minutes to transfer them.
is this normal? how can i connect the wing as a " card reader ", the transfer
speed is way tooo slow, please help.
Thank You.
Mine copies slow too. When I want to dump a bunch of TV shows to it, I do it before bed time.

I realize that if I use Activesync or Windows Mobile Device Center (Vista) to transfer files, it seems to be a bit slower than if I use WM5torage. Now, in general, I still think both methods are slow. I transfer everything through my media card reader which is heck of a lot faster. It'll easily rip 1GB within a couple of minutes to my Kingston 4GB microsd. My other alternative is to use my usb microsd card reader. I only use WM5torage and Activesync as my last resort. But honestly, after owning the Dash/Wing, I think HTC made a pretty slow card reader to begin with. I also think that the microsd card reader in the phone wasn't design to read fast anyway since it only supported up to 2GB back using WM5.
i just bought a shift i install softwares via sd card but certain software like office my laptop wont allow the copying of all of it on sd card.is there any other way were i could connect the shift to my laptop and install softwares from laptop.can the shift play direct dvd files with out converting because i tryed with power dvd its start to play for 2secs then the shift restarts.i played it from sd card
You could use a USB memory stick instead of a memory card.
You could buy a USB networking kit.
You could use the supplied ethernet attachment and connect it into your home network.
You could buy an evternal DVD/CD drive and copy stuff onto a DVD-RW.
You could wirelessly connect the shift into your home network.
Hi guys,
I currently have a XDA Orbit and I'm thinking about buying the Touch2. The problem with the Orbit is the combination of poorly accessible microSD card and veeery slow data transfer rate via USB. Unless this hasn't been improved dramatically in the Touch2, it would be no buy for me.
Does anyone have some MB/min data?
It depends on the connection mode choosen. When choosing to connect it as a "disk", copying a 142MB folder takes about 35s, so it gives about 4MB/s. It probably also depends on the SD card speed and number of files to transfer.
I use already for some yrs "tnyynt tune up". Install attached CAB. Also your PC has faster and slower USB ports, select the right one.
Assume you connect storage card directly to PC and not via phone because that goes much slower.....
Have used several HTC devices (with Mega software) and speed was never a problem.
