[Q] Keyboard with Ctrl, Alt and Tab? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

I am searching for a software keyboard for Windows Mobile 6.1 which has Ctrl, Alt and Tab keys. I need this for PocketPuTTY. The PocketPuTTY website contains a screenshot which shows such a keyboard, unfortunately I can't find that keyboard anywhere.
pocketputty.net/images/PocketPuTTY.gif (Sry, forum doesn't let me post links)
I searched for other SSH clients and hoped that there would be some which have other options of inputting those keys, but was not able to find one. The closest thing I could find was Mocha Telnet but that only contains Ctrl and no Alt key.

Are you really sure the Resco Keyboard supports the Alt key? I have not installed it yet, because I could not find a single screenshot or even mentioning in a text of an Alt key.

Ctrl Key - Does it exist or how?

Has anybody worked out if the keyboard has a Ctrl key or a function that works like Ctrl , handy when quitting apps eg Ctrl Q.
Or editing.
I couldnt find it when I used the device.
Cheers
That's very strange because I have it on my MDA II's touchscreen keyboard. Are you talking about the touchscreen keyboard that you have to pop up by pressing the up arrow in the lower right-hand corner in the Messages app for instance?
I wonder whether this feature would also be ROM-dependent.
i meant the hard keyboard not sip. its on sip but when i used the universal i couldnt see it.
Yes I am interested in the Ctrl button on the universal as well, I owned a XDAIIs and found the keyboard on that didn't have the Ctrl key either so you can't do CUT/COPY or paste unless there is another way. I cut and paste heaps so the keyboard was useless to me on the XDAIIs.
Any one know if there is another way to do this on the Universal Keyboard.
what a wind up this is, cant believe they missed the ctrl button off the proper keyboard.
The keyboard has Cut/copy/paste function, so I am happy.
Jasjar is the most awesome PPC Phone yet.
there is a screen tap key (a bit like the right mouse click key on a full computer) this brings up the menu option, with copy and cut in it !! then you can just pres the relevant letter on the keyboard, thus having the same effect (ie press a function key then C or T or V).
PS its Fn [Space] key
cool... i wondered what that key did! that is useful!
[ctrl] is used for more things than copy+paste.
I use my Exec to communicate with *NIX servers using Pocket PuTTY. [ctrl] is kind of essential.
Agree, using putty is a nightmare without a ctrl key. Is there any way of mapping another key to do the same function

keyboard mappings

I am gutted the Universal dosn't have a Ctrl key. For linux admin it is essential, plus i love to copy/paste.
Is there a way in which I can map a key to carry out the Ctrl function.
I can live without the IE or text message key

Question to PQZII users

Hi,
I'm using PQZII on my Universal since several monthes and I find it very useful for pda with keyboards...but it's not necessary to say...
I find taskbar icon useful to indicate ctl or alt pressed key. But I would change the background of that icone and turn it transparent. Then I'll see only ctl or alt when pressed and that square icon on my taskbar. I tried several habitualy used colors for icon's background (255 and so...) but none was the good one.
Any idea to help me?
Thanks for replies and ...thanks for PQZII for existing )
Wat's this PQZII
PQZII is the application that allows to emulate ctrl and alt keys on a keyboard pda phone... There are some treads on it on the forum...
Here is one...

And the link to the developper site...

Can I change the IE button on keyboard also .
Maybee, have a try on it, it's a freeware. On the website of the developper, there is a small app wich can give you the code of any pushed key on the keyboard. Knowing that code, you can assign any fonction or launch program or link to a key with its code. So, maybee, it's possible...

Which though? I've tried searching but can't see an obvious candidate. Finger keyboard doesn't seem to have one.
You might give MIDPSSH a shot. Java based SSH client. It's a bit finicky, but once you get used to it, you have all special keys available quickly.
Key is to open the Menu once you are connected and have the prompt, then go to menu>type to type right on the prompt (or hit INPUT and type in a new screen, not sure why it was designed like that). There are also all special keys there for tapping (when using the MENU). if the text is too small, go to SETTINGS and change the font size from "tiny" to "device".

PocketPutty and TAB key

I'm a new HD2 user and is my first windows mobile based smartphone.
The smartphone will be used to administer several unix servers (using ssh and pocketputty) but i'm not able to find any keyboard with TAB Key (or ESC key), I've only been able to find the CTRL key in SPB Keyboard.
Please, any hint is more than welcome
Regards,
You could get a bluetooth keyboard - ctrl and tab work fine for me. They should be pretty cheap on eBay.
Thanks for the suggestion, but i'll use the HD2 for quick access or bug fixing while i'm out of the office and it would be great if i don't have to carry an additional keyboard.
Please, anyone knows any software keyboard with these keys?
2cugel: Try to use Token2Shell instead PocketPutty. It has onscreen keybar for all special keys like Tab, Esc, PgUp/Down, Ctr, Alt and all Fx keys.
Also it has build-in SSH file browser and many other great functions.
Hope it help.
Solved
Finally solved with swype, space long press send the tab signal.
