[TOOL] How To Remove That Rod From Your A%@

Step 1 - Remind yourself that nothing anyone does on the forum besides the devs and the mods really matters.
Step 2 - When someone decides to create a thread to host their nightly builds of a new ROM for you to enjoy, don't criticize them for opening the thread before the ROM is ready. Doing this makes you an incredible asshole.
Step 3 - You can learn more from the devs and mods other than how to program. For instance, they have a sense of humor. All of you, apparently, do not.
Step 4 - People make mistakes. Jumping on them for doing this puts you under scrutiny. Be ready to have a spotless record...wait! You don't! "Hi pot, I'm kettle! You're black! Dur-ha!" (This is what you sound like, to me.)
Step 5 - Should the previous steps not have solved the problem of you being an uptight waste of carbon, I sometimes recommend the use of illegal narcotics. If nothing else has helped and you're still a complaining asshole, try this:
a) Purchase 1/8th oz high grade marijuana.
b) Take a portion of the marijuana and remove the pointy stems.
c) Roll the marijuana into a Zig Zag brand rolling paper.
d) Ignite the now rolled marijuana cigarette or "joint"*.
e) Inhale the smoke and hold it in a bit.
f) Repeat until the joint burns your fingertip.
h) Play your favorite LP. I Personally recommend anything Beatles, Meat Puppets, Beach Boys, or Built to Spill. Should you have ****ty taste in music, Legend by Bob Marley will probably be in your collection. That'll do for now.
i) Repeat a - h until all traces of knowitall assholism have been cleansed from your system.

How about people just stop creating new threads so damn often? We don't need a thread created to mention that some dev nobody cares about is beginning to consider working on a stupid port nobody wants. Post it in the ROM Bible thread or blast it out on Twitter to your four followers.

Development is an "act of improving by expanding or enlarging or refining"
I don't see "asking questions answered dozens of times previously" or "saying oneself is creating a ROM based on source material that doesn't exist"

Wow. The main point of all of this was to somewhat humorously invoke some kindness in dealing with annoying people. I see that some are amused and some are not. Posting to development was part of the joke.
Obviously, it's not awesome to start a thread in the wrong section but IT'S NOT WORTH BLOWING UP OVER. Also, wishing me harm, banishment, bricked phone, etc is silly. RELAX.

naw... no one hates anyone... people are just bored... and in an attempt to get someone to agree with his methodology he made himself look like more of an ass..

All this anger over some silly trash talk in an attempt to get people to relax a bit.
To tell the truth, I find most people here pretty helpful. If I were to focus in on myself, I'd say that this was more inflammatory than I'd intended and that I've certainly missed some unwritten rule about not being playful or fun. For all my bluster, I can see how people could have mistaken this for actual condemnation.
I'll make an honest attempt to be more boring, in the future.

I've noticed a rather horrible grammatical habit of people lately; to use an ellipsis, not followed by a space. This is bad practice.

All the devs I have spoken to are seriously cold but seriously smart dudes, and not one wants to accept a suggestion upfront, but most do incorporate it anyway

Some people are tribal some dance to their own tune. Damian has ruffled many a feather here it seems but so be it he has pride in his work and seems to be a perfectionist, he has his tribe or rather had until the ext2 tribe disbanded along with z4mod and oclf... And the ext4 have theirs.
We all have our personality quirks and the devs often disagree which is expected and healthy.
I think the biggest weakness is pride which can prevent people admitting mistakes and learning from people who may actually know more. Since I am a layman I have no idea who is guilty of this not knowing technical coding talk.
I have seen some comments from Damian which sure seemed a bit rude, maybe a language barrier? Where are from Damian how well can you speak English? Btw... anyway I have grown to understand him an he has integrity and talent... and a Hot head LOL!
And I used ext2 with an old Damian kernel with no problems. Seemed ok to me, curious I even forced my phone to crash and pulled the battery with no problems. He still uses it and many using his new kernel too ...
My greatest respect for being the most diplomatic and humble of all the devs goes out to supercurio. A while back he found a serious bug in universal lag fix kernel, his direct competition, and didn't act smug about it or arrogant. In fact he wrote a kernel to fix the corrupted data this caused. And the ulfk guys promptly rectified it with a thanks. We all make mistakes. Considering his professional level of talent and amazing work he could be arrogant, plus he is French! (Joke).
C'mon I hate to see the stereotype childish, *****y geek coming out so much.
Now Damian, prove to us all you don't have to much pride or passive/aggressive problems with other devs and use some of the work from others in your great kernel that we all want. If you believe the code is sloppy or not up to your standard so be it. You are clearly not afraid to say so, so put it in a separate kernel version with a warning if you like and silence your critics.

Of course it does. The EVO has flash and um, um, well that's really the only connection I see here.
Actually there are more connections when you really think about it. These devices run on batteries. They have memory. There considered electronics. I can go on and on......
You see, when you use your imagination you can come up with so many things that link this to the EVO!
I am going to go and start another thread here comparing 3d TV's. Imagine all the relationships to the EVO there!

whatever guys...im showing you a big innnovation for apple, them getting a way of flash, something that us android guys have had over them for a while...all i said is i think its cool, a little late but cool, but its still not better than android because if i read correctly it has to reroute the videos into a format i devices can read...some of you need to relax and open a notch on your belt,real talk
and btw how is this not related to us? We have had flash for a while and has been a main selling point on commercials! if you listen to advertisements you can hear it yourself, some of you really need to calm down

You are missing the point everyone is trying to make. You are clogging the general section with garbage that really has nothing to do with the evo. There is an off topic section that is accessible from the main forum (I believe that's where it is). I think your threads would be more appropriate there.

+1 all you do is link us to phandroid or engadget or some other android/tech blog. Some of us already frequent these sites and see this information and the rest of us don't go to those sites for a reason.

Innovation?? More like a need. Apple decided to take off flash favoring HTML5, unfortunately a very significant amount of websites still use flash and there is no incentive to make the switch to the new format. I guess Jobs got pissed that he could not access many websites that were flash enabled and decided that it was needed to put it back. There no innovation on this.

I won't agree on this. As stated by myself and others: we see these already. If they are not "HTC Evo 4g" related they do not belong here. Even if they are related they are not necessary. It is nice to get a discussion going from time to time but it makes it really hard to sift for ACTUAL news when you post so much of this stuff.

I think its pretty clear that the managers of that forum are nothing but a bunch of douches that have no clue as to what is going on with any of their own products, and total disregard for their user base. Thats ok, Aus Chamber of Commerce will be getting a nice little bulletin board write up of my experience with Motorola. Exposure to 400,000+ members should be a nice little kick in the teeth for Moto..

Yup. I bet they did this just to annoy you.
Even if they ARE trying to insult your religion (and I doubt it, but let's just go with the idea) are you really going to get upset about it?
Or just ignore it and move on with your life? If you search in every corner of the globe looking to be offended, well, you're going to spent all of your life offended.
Be happy for the life you have, the family you have and the faith you have.

I sense a troll post , however if you are being serious and you are getting upset over it ,
why don't you just either turn off the volume and play it or just forget about it.
I'm sure they weren't doing this to try and offend you.

You should email the dev about it insted of jumping to conclusions and start rumors, you could potentially destroy a good devs reputation with these kind of accusations. And why do you choose to get insultet if your not sure?
