i was going to try to install new radio rom for my hd2, downloaded custom ruu and installed on phone, now phone just hangs at start up. i have tried the hard reset but to no avail, anybody help me please?
did you install the correct hspl for your phone and did you flash a compatible radio?
that happenes when a radio is not compatible with the rom

lesson learned, i'm a numpty!!!! managed to install original rom from bootloader, still at least learned how to do that. long time head scratching.

Hello XDA-ers.
I've flashed my phone with the new ROM from the htc website.
And today i wanted to put Dutty's ROM on it, but it wouldnt flash.. the update would get stuck on 0% and then nothing happens for 20 minutes..
I also tried the udK_Lea_R5_MW6.5_WWE rom but the same thing happened.
Is there something wrong with my phone?

You need to use Hard-SPL.

Simple things first:
Have you run HardSPL? (Latest version is required, 1.83 at time of writing).
Have you tried loading into Bootloader manually before attempting to flash? (Hold VolDown when powering on).
If those fail, try and identify what has changed since you flashed the original ROM.
Aaah didnt knew i needed HardSPL..
First time i flashed my ROM it immidiatly worked =p
Thought that ROM screwed my phone in ever being flashed again .

Hi Guys, Need some help.
Have just flashed my ROM to Duttys new one, Hard SPL'd it first, which worked, now showing SPL-1.42.HSPL
Then I flashed to Duttys Rom, all went ok and completed sucessfully. Hard Reses afterwards, but now it won't boot up. It gets to preparing windows for first time use then resets and just hangs, any ideas any one?
Can you get into BootLoader Mode?
Maybe try to flash a shipped ROM first and after that retry the custom ROM
You probably forgot to flash the updated radio?

I thought the Radio was included in the Dutty ROM so didn't need flashing seperatly?
Most cooked ROMs don't have a radio built in. You have to identify the correct radio then flash that separately. This is becoming even more important with the new builds that require the latest radio's to work properly.
I can't understand why people don't take the time to research flashing properly before jumping in.

Ok, I have found out that although it said it includes the radio, it doesn't, so there lies my problem, thanks guys. Off to find the Radio now.
Had before the ENERGYROMS, but my HD2 (leo) was hanging over- and over, so I've read about TASK29.
Well I just downloaded it, extracted somewhere and followed all instructions, but now after using TASK29 I only get the splashscreen.
Is there any way to solve this?
Before I had Energy.Leo.23569.Sense2.5.MaxSense.UI.Jun.02, HSPL2 and Leo_Radio_15.40.50.07U_2.11.50.20.
I'm a bit desperate now, anyone who knows what the **** I bricked now?

when you flashed energy you probably forgot to flash a compatible radio.
go into boot loader, flash any radio mentioned in the energy posts (you did read EVERY word in thee first few posts, right? cos only noobs skip straight to the download without reading first....)
once the radio is flashed go back into boot loader and flash energy.
Maybe it's not bricked yet - remove the battery, let it cool down for some 15 minutes, than try again?

Jo mate, no as I said; I had an Energyrom AND the correct radio (newest), but I had problems with hanging homescreens etc, so it was so annoying that I was looking for a good way to solve it. So someone said here that I had to download TASK29 and CLEAN the whole HD2 and after that install the ENERGYROM again so it would be all refreshing as new. But now it doesn't work, after using TASK29, at all! I'm ****ed
You have reflashed the Radio and the Rom you want after the task29 havent you? if you have, try flashing a HTC Stock rom. If that works then flash back to the Rom u want.
But it's almost certainly because you dont have the correct Radio Rom on.

when you task 29 it wipes the phone so it won't boot.
enter bootloader and flash your rom.
basically repeating what Sam said but looks like you don't have a ROM on your phone at all now, just flash the ROM you want again and all will be good

i have a tmobile hd2 (obviously)
i successfully hardspl to it
i flashed the energy reference rom
then i realized that i needed to use the task29 tool before
i flash any rom... did that, hard resetted, and then tried flashing again (energy referecne) using the sd card method
and i just get stuck on the "NRG" screen
tried the other custom ruu method getting the same results
using the radio 2.07.50.27 and 2.12.50
i put back the regular spl to flash a stock rom but still no luck
i know the phone isn't bricked i can get to boot loader, hard reset
any help would be much appreciated

Download the stock 2.13 ROM, slap it on your SD card and flash that way. It will wipe out HardSPL and put back the stock 2.08 SPL. Then flash HardSPL AGAIN and your custom ROM. Note that you don't HAVE to Task 29...it's just recommended by some people. I for example have NEVER Task 29'd ANY of the devices I have owned..and have never run into problems.
I had the same problem and from what I know of, it's cause you don't have a Rom installed since you had hspl it, so it means you have to install a custom rom or stock one.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

I tried to do a factory reset to the phone by reinstalling everything such as the hspl, doing a full wipe (task29), which went successfully, but then i tried to install radio 2.15.50.14 and installation freezes at 96% every single time, i dont know why, there is no rom or anything on the phone and its not booting up to anything except the tri-color screen. could anyone help me by giving the steps on how to install a rom from the position where i am. maybe i am using outdated softwares or anything, i just need a tutorial with how to do everything from beggining with all the softwares that i need to use, any rom is good for me, it can be windows or android. thank you in advance, waiting for everones reply.

hmmmm really strange, which Radio are you using?
try to download another Radio & try the to install using the flash method & the HD2toolkit method.
NOTE: be careful in flashing radio if you are using a Tmous model
