HTC EVO 4G BlueZ Source Code - EVO 4G General

Evo BlueZ source code released
Looks like HTC released the source code for their Bluetooth stack for froyo. I'd think this would be helpful in introducing HID profile recognition for sense roms. You can find it here
http://developer.htc.com/
On a separate note its nice that they're still releasing their source, hopefully the froyo kernel source is next .

Well, one of the most touted features of cm6 is finally coming to sense (well, has the ability to come over). I've been missing my wiimote on bakedsnack

HTC has two source code releases today, both blue tooth related:
HTC EVO 4G BlueZ Source Code: http://member.america.htc.com/download/RomCode/Source_and_Binaries/htc_evo_4g_bluez.zip
HTC EVO 4G BlueZ Source Code (Froyo MR): http://member.america.htc.com/download/RomCode/Source_and_Binaries/supersonic_bt.zip
source: http://developer.htc.com/

Thank you, but there's already been a number of threads on this topic.

This is why I read these forums LOLZ

This is the first I have seen of this news. Everything is getting closer and closer to how I want my phone to be. Landscape Sense, wiimote working, and full ui output through the HDMI port.

I'd like to be able to figure out how to use an apple wireless bt keyboard on the phone.

Excellent news, can someone tell me how I can start developing stuff with them

Guys
Gentlemen,
I am a newbie to android programming. Can anyone of you please explain to me how i can use this source code along with the Android NDK ? How should I cross compile this ?
Thanks.

Hi Honda cop.
How should somebody go about using this source code along with the Android NDK ?
Thanks.

I already use my Mighty Keyboard with my Evo for class lectures. CM6 rom had it enabled.

idk about you guys, but personally i am really thankful that we have great engineers at goog working their asses off. they never stop trying to improve on perfection.
cheers.
battery icon recustomized back into htc icon and not in gingerbread icon? funny.
An SE phone using an HTC icon, with Android 2.4 & a 2.2 kernel. Talk about a mish-mash lol
It is the real thing though. the artice is published by a dutch tech site:
tweakers.net/reviews/1944/ces-hands-on-android-24-gingerbread-reloaded.html
The standman actually put the wrong handset into their hands. so they pulled a quick review on it. they confirmed 2.4 ran faster than 2.3 on the same handset also there is some new animations available.
just use google translate on the link above and you can read it a bit..
There's nothing special, if you familiar with software development, bump to next vision is the first thing must to be done after a major version released. so the head branch must be 2.4.

Why? Just because you've never heard of it before?
Remember how quickly Eclair 2.1 came out after Eclair 2.0?
How about giving us 2.3 first before teasing with 2.4?

Here's another video of the Arc, it shows it as having 2.3 and the notification bar is more consistent with that:

No...because its on a Sony phone
their flagship the X10 isnt even getting froyo, i doubt they would get 2.4 first
also. 2.4 with the 32.9 kernel. not likely, it will most likely have at least 34.x kernel. i mean AOSP is up to 35.7 kernel

ICS uploading to AOSP servers now!

All hail! http://groups.google.com/group/android-building/browse_thread/thread/4f85d9242667a85f?pli=1
How large are the hurdles to getting this up on the Xoom relatively soon?
What's an ics? Jk Woooot! Give me my Roms.
And Hc source too
I don't think they're ever going to release hc source.
Edit: according to one source this release will include hc source. http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/14/...leased-sync-pending-go-ahead-f/#disqus_thread
I want CM9 for my Xoom!!!!!!

Because of the way git works, the honeycomb source was released.
Interestingly enough they said there isn't tags for the Honeycomb source because it was incomplete and they want everyone to focus on ICS.
Super amped about this.... ill be refreshing the dev section all day tomorrow at work.
Breaking news: Android hackers from XDA just cancelled their Holidays, days off and personal time, as they are rubbing their hands maniacally in front of the long-awaited sources getting slowly downloaded onto their machine. Details at 11.
Awesome, CM9 for my Xoom, maybe the browser wont suck now
good news, anyone know if there are any devs still grinding away at the xoom tho?

Excactly, got no clue at all.
lol fail. Linaro is 4.0.4 only.
This would be an interesting port for the Play.

I must say this does look awesome...... really wonder what it would do for our PLAYs? I am aware 4.0.4 only...... still......hmmm
Actually not really understand how this work
Is it something like a patch to accelerate the Android performance?
Or
Is totally a modified O.S to replaced our current O.S to get better performance?

^^ this.
It's getting submitted to the AOSP codebase, so eventually, it'll make it's way to use through CM9. (It's software fixes, not a new OS, and they're submitting code to AOSP gerrit)

Ubuntu for phones announcement

Today, Cannonical has announcement a version Ubuntu for phones. They can found more info here: http://www.ubuntu.com/devices/phone
The requesites are very similar to HD2. Will be posible portable to it?
hope so...
Sorry for my bad English. I just reading that link. Some of my friend say that the Ubuntu OS is base on Android Kernel so we totally can port it to our HD2 but the rom running on Galaxy Nexus just a demo rom that mean the need a lot of time to config. Ubuntu OS is currently in the development stage and finishing, according to the source before we have to wait until 2014. I think that time is too long for our HD2.
^
well you never can say, there are a lot of Dev's here that are even miles ahead of those manufacturers/ phone companies, all we have to do is wait & see.
I also noticed just yesterday in one 2nd hand site here in HK all the HD'2 where sold & at least 10 more people where looking for one.

I'm a NAND user on a LEO1024. Since Ubuntu phone will support android kernels and the drivers it will be quite simple to get the required files from tytung's repo and merge it into the OS.

I assure you there will not be and if you want it, you will have probably to do it yourself. It's not android, nobody wants that... yet.

please release it fo hd2
A very interesting project! My HD2 is looking forward!
I think it will be fun.
would be good as an excercise, i suppose. as long as the support is there.
why would it be better than android?
in my experience with ubuntu on my laptop, anything i try to do always seems end up typing long lines of code in a terminal window
as someone once said "linux is free if your time is worthless"
been developing with the new SDK & its a freakin beast ! .....i eat ...sleep ...poop ..Ubuntu ...its so much fun
Ubuntu Phone OS is going to rule ....its just so awesome !
