Very low quadrant benchmark score! - Nexus One General

Hi, today i've installed quadrant benchmark app, my nexus one score is very low, only 770, it's behind n1 with 2.2, droid x and galaxy s...i'm wondering why! My flashed rom is this one:

1351 for Me. Do you have a lot of windows open on your browser?

maybe is time for a different room
1520 on CM V6.0.0-RC2

1495 for CM 6.0.0 RC2

I've tried after a reboot and nothing changes...
that rom is a stock with few mods, it's very strange!

Did you do the Pandora/streaming music audio quality fix? If so that causes your phone to score a lot lower in quadrant. In the benchmark it checks ACC encoding and decoding, and the fix for the audio quality causes those two tests to run significantly slower. Even so, the general speed of the phone is unaffected.

1748 on rod's rom with wildmonks kernel

+1 to the "get CM6 RC2" recommendations. I am on it, and I scored 1542 on my 1.113 GHz N1 running CM6RC2, with SetCPU on "interactive."

1657 on Kang-O-Rama 1.0b1 SP1

Flashed to Wildmonk's latest 800mV BFS kernel, and I got 1805. This is a very nice kernel!

Dude you found the point
Now i must found out how to remove that fix, that i don't even need
well if that affect just the score of the benchmark i don't mind keeping it as it is obviously!

Vanilla Nexus One, except iR Kernel, latest .34, 900-something mV.
1577 on Quadrant. SetCPU on userspace, 998 Mhz min and max.

Glad that solved it. I'm not sure why this thread became a pissing contest for people's benchmark scores. Anyways the fix shouldn't provide any real world slowdown as far as I know of, and it makes Pandora sound a heck of a lot better.

I'm almost getting 1800 quadrant..
are you sure you're running on Android 2.2? I think 2.1 got these low scores

But i don't use pandora, so who cares?
I've posted this problem in the thread of the rom i use and the dev have already posted a new version that remove that fix (removing a fix for fixing a bug)

1477 was the highest score I got.

AnTutu Benchmark

I know some of you think benchmarks are wack but I use them from time to time to see if im gaining any better performance from different roms and kernels. Used to use Quadrant all the time but a friend told me about AnTutu on the market. Don't know if any of you have used it, but its free and im kind digging it over Quadrant. Try it out if you haven't. Here are some screen shots.

Thanks will check it out.
Here's a link for anyone wanting to try it out.
Just tried it out. Got a score in the low 1500s. Seems pretty good, although it's kind of depressing not seeing my phone at the top of the list like it always was in Quadrant
Thanks for the heads up

Lol yeah im used to seeing my score at the top too. This bench gives out some useful info tho. More than the free version of quadrant. Don't know if I wanna pay 24 bucks for the pro version of quadrant to see how that is. Sure its a lot better than the free version. Im going to stick with this for a bit until I find something better.
Trigger + Tigersblood = Winning
quadrant pro is bull does nothing but give "detailed" stats which means the same thing this does for free, the bar thing is colored and it gives GPU CPU etc.
After saying all that, i should admit...
I have Quadrant Advanced...
I'll check this out in a sec. thanks for sharing!
I ran this benchmark a couple weeks ago and scored 2081.
I re-ran the benchmark after the recent update, and I just scored 3254 total, which ranks me 30th in the world. Wow!

Quadrant Benchmark for Galaxy Note - 4308 (and probably higher)

Perhaps the Quadrant Utility tool for Benchmarking needs an upgrade - the screen size is too large yet the speed test (FPS) is hidden under the screen's bottom partly.
The note must be pretty quick!
Anyways - I scored a benchmark of 4013! This was achieved after ensuring that task manager had all apps exited and memory cleared.
Update: On my third benchmark in a row I got 4308. You may check my blogs later today as I upload all the performance images.
the note is pretty good. samsung did a good job of optimising the drivers, and the GPU is surprisingly more powerful than my atrix despite the higher resolution.
Quadrant doesn't need an upgrade - it needs throwing in the bin!
It's a deeply flawed benchmark that tells you pretty much nothing about the overall performance of your device.
Regards,
Dave
I got a score of 4600 using an Interactive governor on a kernel I rolled. This makes it awesomely faster than my paltry Nexus One . Shame Quadrant is pretty meaningless as a cross-device benchmark though....

AnTuTu maybe?
Got an awesome 4395! I'm amazed by the phone's performance on Benchmarks, yet I find it just as fast as my HTC sensation on the usual day to day usage. hope updates will improve speed!

roms and benchmarks

I would have posted in the trinity kernel but im still new and learning and cant do that yet. After reading about the little dust-up in the trinity kernel thread Ive really started to question benchmark testing software for android. As I understand quadrent is just the most common bench marker but many people seem to not like it. While I enjoy getting high scores Id rather have a "true" benchmark of my performance on my tablet. Does anybody have any suggestions for a better benchmark software or at least one you can't :cheat" at. Also on a unrelated note I see the different roms available however it appears people seem to act like CM10 or AOKP are real special compared to other roms. As I have no history with tablets or android before getting my Nexus is their a reason why these roms are treated with such reverence by some? Thanx alot guys

first off, I'm using plain old pure asop as my ROM.. simple, clean, and fast. and for benchmarking, you should use many different benchmarks, none of them singlely test for everything. some are graphics oriented, some cpu oriented, some browser oriented, and some read/write oriented. here's a screenshot of the benchmarks that I use. and yes, even quadrant can be useful if you watch the individual scores(we watch the mem and CPU scores in quadrant BTW). oh BTW, any benchmark can be cheated. but what's the point, you're only lying to yourself.

Thanx for the quick reply! I agree completely about lying to yourself I just hate seeing incredible scores and not knowing if they cheated and me racking my brain trying to figure out why my scores aren't that good lol. Going to have to try out those other apps. Also not sure if you work with morfic or just a big supporter but thank you for the kernel, excellent battery life and power when I need it.

Evaluating ANTUTU 5, impressions so far.

I was selected to test out an Alpha version of ANTUTU 5, here are my impressions so far. It is markedly longer than previously. There are new CPU tests, including Single Thread Integer, Single Thread Floating Point, refined 2D tests, which are now performed in landscape, and an all new 3D test Project Anarchy, which is a Forrest Scene. Pretty Cool. Cant wait for the final project.

I am testing it too and I've noticed something but I am not sure if it's related to Antutu. When it goes to CPU Interger Test or Float point test, all cores go to 100% usage except for CORE1. For some reason, it stays at 1-10%. Maybe it's the kernel. I am using ElementalX

Is This the Highest Benchmark Score the Note 3 Will Get?

I want to preface this with the fact that I have run several roms over the course of my time spent in rooting and flashing. Out of all of the roms, CM12.1 is the most stable and currently runs the fastest. I'm wondering if the Note 7 or S7/S7E ports will be able to handle overclocking because every time I have tried, the device will reboot. If I can't get these types of roms to be stable and fast, I won't be able to test them with Antutu benchmark. That said, I'm wondering if there is anyone who has a higher score than this. If so, what rom did you use and how stable is it?
I should note that I am currently using these specs:
-ROM: CM12.1
-Kernel: IdleKernel
-Screen Size: 2560 X 1440 (My phone seems to handle this incredibly well, though I can't quite get it up to 4K without having problems.)

The questions were posed because I want to know if anyone has had better luck than I did. I'm merely curious as to what the limits are of this type of phone.

This score means nothing if you do not specify used cpu governor, hotplug driver, i/o scheduler and o.c value.
With an S7E port (default settings, no optimizations and no OC), i can get +62K and a 3D score higher than yours.

As expected, most N7/S7E ports will have a higher 3D value than CM. The govenor I used was interactive. Overclocked to 2.76 ghz, gpu was also overclocked to 450 mhz. I chose not to mess with the i/o scheduler. Hotplugging was turned off.

Well, if you are satisfied with your rom so keep it.
Anyway, in raw speed Touchwiz can't compete with CM/AOSP.
A little tip for higher score : use Fiops schedular with read ahead buffer = 256kb
