Can anyone else confirm? All I get when I check is "check for update was not available at this time. Try again later" I usually get a different message like"your phone is up to date" or "no update found"
Yea, I get the same.
Are you sure? My phone doesn't have it either, although I was SO excited when I read the topic title.
Ditto. No update for me.
Wow that would be great but I also get "No update".

We need ubdate.zip file which was downloaded to your phone. It's located in /cache/ folder I guess .
This is my first motorola android phone. How long does it typically take after they release the final build of a sw version for them to officially release to the general public? Also, has anyone who has gotten the update, uploaded it anywhere for others to download or is that even possible with this type of release? Thanks.
p.s. Can't post links but am sure most have seen the other 2.2 thread in this forum...
Ok so it looks like we may be in some trouble. www.androidcentral.com/motorola-bravos-froyo-update-delayed-cusp-its-release#comment-126421
This is att causing the delay. If you look in the pic of AC's post, the message was being viewed on MyCSP which is a website att uses for its employees to get any info att related. Looks like bravo users get the shaft again. Oh well, maybe the delay wont be that long.
They better not pull a cliq xt on us and that may very well be true. Even with motoblur this phone can more than handle froyo.. but well see what they say.

Yes it would seem that AT&T is dragging heels somehow. Beta testing has gone well and I have not had too many issues. Patience is the key here I think. Froyo is on the way
I don't follow the Bravo stuff too much being a Captivate owner but my wife just came to me with her Bravo asking me what this message was about.
It was a text from AT&T telling her to follow the instructions to download the Froyo upgrade.
Came here to see what the forum had to say about it.
I'm loving froyo. It's snappier, and I had no issues with settings migration. The youtube app is great, the exchange email client is way better, and I like a few other minor changes.
There are some small features that have been removed, but I haven't payed attention to those because I didn't personally use those features. The only one that comes to mind is screen lock disable had been changed/removed.

how will us with wifi only get this?
Any update is good news at this point I think. I wonder if there is any harm in updating, ie will it remove the ability to root and what not? I wish they would provide more details on what exactly the patch does. Also, it clearly says on the Verizon network, what about those not on it and are only on wifi?

MY droid always popped up updates even when I was only on wifi. I imagine we'll all get it or someone will post the update.zip anyway.
I'm curious if the Tegra 2 versions of flash (10.1) floating around will have something to interact with, and start functioning. They have with everything else. As soon as I get the OTA (no 3G), I have a folder full of them in my Dropbox.

yesssssssssssss
Glad to see an update but there is nothing listed to get excited about except a possible problem with the upcoming daylight savings time switch. Who cares about the flash update since it does not actually include it. But this will be a good test run to see how the updates are sent out and applied.

You can force a check by rebooting. Not the best method, but it works.
Why do unlocked xooms need to get relocked?
I understand why you need to be on stock boot.img but i don't understand why you need to have the device relocked to get the update.
It makes no sense.

According to the system update tab this didn't happen in 3 reboots since the announcement. Still last check at 5:20. Really want to see if any of the 10.1 Tegra versions work after this. I've been frantic to have Flash lately (PlayOn/Netflix).

It might have a minimum time between checkins. Mine said 9:20am, then showed current time for last checkin when I rebooted.
So would it be fair to say that those of us who have rooted should wait until this update is released to see if in fact we really do need to revert back to stock/locked condition? Because I'd really be pissed if we had to lose all of the data on our Xooms just for this update, when very few of us have actually changed anything with the boot.img, etc. I mean back when I first rooted my N1 but before I flashed custom ROMs, I never had to wipe back to stock to receive OTA updates, so why would that be the case here??
It looks like changing the dates/time on our clocks have no effect on whether or not you WILL receive the update, just how fast you get it if you were already part of the group scheduled to receive it. It looks like the Google servers picks a list of Xooms that are next for the updates, and pushes those updates to each Xoom on that "list" when your device communicates with the google servers. So, in short, you get the update when your number is called...so changing the dates will not guarantee you an update, you HAVE to be on the next phase list. So those who changed their dates on the Xoom were already on the phase list, they just got their updates faster because they forced their Xooms to communicate with google's servers quicker by forcing an update check. Hope that makes sense guys
Is this supposed to make me feel better?
no, but it just explains what your doing when your changing the time. If your not on the list you won't get it, but it does its check only so often so changing the date is a guarentee whether or not your on the list to get the update pushed. This way people can understand what theyre doing and not have to complain.

LOL..No, it doesn't make me feel better either, but at least you can get an idea of how it works. It would be nice to know how often and when does Google send out the updates from their servers, so we push our Xooms to check for updates during those times!
So ....
If we missed out on the update for whatever reason can we expect our number to be called again?

you cant miss the update, your "Xoom ID" is stored in each phase, so if your group was sent the update and your Xoom was powered off, etc.. once you turn your Xoom on, the Xoom will check in with the Google server, and the server will automatically send you the update.

Well in 3.1 they added a check now ability for the system update. So they should let us know a little more about how they implement Over The Air updates. I'd imagine if the majority of the users on the list that is available checked as soon as it came out there might be an issue with server power or whatever. But I dont understand what is taking so long, and if more people buy xooms how long will it take next time?

it wont cause any server issues whatsoever, if they wanted to push out the updates to everyone immediately, they can with a push of a button (literally) My guess is that they are just playing it safe in the event that something goes wrong with the updates, better to have a small group with problems instead of EVERY single Tablet owner. I was told that the the list of each group in every phase grows as long as there are no reported issues with the updates.
I don't know about you, but I haven't seen one thing about 3.1 screwing up anything, so push that button.

Push the freekin button already!
Like they're doing OTA updates to one up Apple pretty much, and it is just a fail unless your the one sitting there with 3.1... then again I did always have to wait a month or so with my iPhone for the jailbreak community to make the update... but like, this is for stock I'm waiting. I feel like I'm in court for a traffic ticket waiting for the judge to call my name.

HA! Exactly! We should start a petition: "PUSH THE BUTTON, GOOGLE!"
(in case it doesn't come across, I'm kidding about the petition.)
there should be an option to update manually from your computer like apple does, or just wait for ota...
I just got the OTA update last night...glad i didn't have to wait too long...
at 1st i was changing dates every hour or so...then just said hell with it when it comes it comes...lol
What I really really want to know is if having a rooted xoom and an overclock kernel excludes me from the update or makes me incompatible.
I have seen people say that as soon as they reverted to stock they received the update. I also know that rooted users cash manually install it through adb but I don't have experience with that and would rather do something easier.
In essence if I wait long enough, can I still get 3.1 OTA even though rooted, etc etc?

If you are rooted, the OTA update will fail on install when it comes. You can either 1) Go back to stock and wait or, 2) Do the install methods available for rooted users in the Development section.

says who? because I just left the sprint store getting my phone replaced, and they said its OTA today for a small rollout. the manager who owns a nexus s who was shocked I had a defected Nexus already had the update, but had no comment since our areas internet was down
I copied that off of my dealer news page in my store
Well, since this is a Nexus, I thought Samsung was not a factor in our updates. If this is the case, its making my decision easier to stick with my EVO 3D and look past the SGS2.
I really like my NS4G, but the intermittent signal issues are not a factor on the EVO.
Guess I'll see what happens.

Would radio updates be pure google? I didn't think so but I'm not positive.
CM7'd Nexus S 4G
Keep in mind that Sprint had a nationwide SMS failure today, so it could be that they needed to push everything back for maintenance.

Radio drivers are proprietary (thus not a part of the AOSP) and typically are developed and distributed by the hardware manufacturer (in this case Samsung).
But on the other hand they are typically bundled with OS software.
In this case, I would think Samsung would update their radio drivers, give them to Google, Google would build a new ROM and put together an OTA, then in the case of NS4G Sprint might even be involved in pushing it out, and their engineers were a tad busy today.

He was just updated to the current version on his brand new phone, not the rumored upgrade. I doubt that we see anything new today.
Was anticipating the update but oh well. No other phone has a official, stable 2.3.4 yet and we're looking to be set to get 2.3.5 in a couple of days.
Just relax, chances were slim that you'd be among the first 5% anyways and converting the OTA in a useable zip/img w/e would ahve taken some time as well.

Got it thanks!
Now will this new update let me route my EVO without that bootloader lock?
Anyone confirm if the hboot changing is effecting root?
I rather not update to test it, so we will probably have to wait for someone that has updated to see if they can get s-off
I would also be cautious with it. It comes with new hboot and the ROMs(in dev section) looks like they didn't remove the new hboot. It will lock the bootlader (s-on).
So I am thinking. I am s off. I was stock, unrooted, and did the update. had stock recovery. Now if it is a new hboot, I should have lost my s off, right?
I didn't still got it went and rooted after the update.
Hmm Any thoughts?
Seems from catching up, I would not lose s off.
