Hai Guise.
I've tried three different Froyo ROMs from A.Development now and all of them work fine except for one niggle.
Google Listen doesn't seem to see my Google Account sync on startup and as such, won't work as it needs to sync with Google Reader.
Listen is one of my most-used apps and there isn't a replacement even nearly good enough to replace it on the market. Does anyone know a fix or workaround?
Thanks.
EDIT: Ah, I see there is another thread on this topic which remains unanswered. Sorry.
If anyone is interested, I've found that Doggcatcher comes close to replacing Listen, but at a cost of £6.99
It was me who posted I am glad I'm not a lone it doesn't work on sense versions or asop versions grrr

Hello all,
I know this topic most probably has been done to death here but I was wondering if anyone has tried this ROM and can provide some feedback on it.

Thanks in advance
first ive heard of this its most prob a fake (ie not for the hero) try at your own risk lol any leaked hero rom would of been on here by now and i aint seen it lol
It's just behnaam and lox's rom community 1.8, ran it several times but I still prefer MoDaCo, none the less its pretty good and you get google navigation

It's for the GSM Hero & it's just early version the 2.1 build for the GSM Hero that Lox & Behnaam are working on.
I figured it was too good to be true but thought I'd better ask.
Is there any ROM greater than the 1.5 ROM that Sprint gives you for a CDMA Hero. I hear there's a 1.6 and a 2.0 ROM for Android, both of which have Google's turn by turn GPS thing. I'm looking to get that and also to hopefully get fixes for a number of problems.
My biggest problem is the stupid HTC Audio Manager which takes over control of AVRCP from my Bluetooth headset. One ROM I downloaded was just a zip file so I looked into it and saw this HTC Audio Manager thing. I was thinking I could simple remove it from the zip file and hopefully after flashing there would be no HTC Audio Manager to steal the AVRCP controls (Fingers crossed).
Thoughts?

Neither - Modacos ROMs are still based on 1.5

2.1 working
Hey guys! The geek inside of me started off 2010 with the 2.1 rom. It's usable... But honestly, you have to comply with force closes, gmail not syncing and a few bugs here and there (htc widgets not working properly, for example). Yet, I was able to see and use the new google maps, the "new" market... So let's put it this way: if I had 2 heros, I'd put modaco 3.0 on one and the 2.1 on the other, but since I don't... I guess MCR 3.0 is the best a hero can get at present. Just my opinion (consider that the lazy me still hasn't found time to revert to MCR, if 2.1 was UNUSABLE I would have most definitely taken the time to do it already, right?).
Ciao
whats so good about mcr 3.0? im on 2.2

a lot. you should check the changelog. there were several updated roms from htc released since then, and the kernel sources were released also. 3.0 is based on .66 rom, and has the custom kernel developed by paul and teknologist.
a tip: if you can wait a few days, paul will be releasing 3.1 this week, which is based on an OFFICIAL .66 rom, which will have no market issues and is probably faster than anything else before...
thanks, sorry im noob. i think i'll wait for a stable version of the 2.1 rom to be released
I cant make out the difference. Or are they the same? What does everyone think.
definitely different, performance is quite similar between them though.
No, its different. Legend is cleaner.
i have liked legend better. Kinda wondering how 2.1 for the hero is gonna look like.

But... I already have Friend Stream?!?!?!
My question is, we have several extremely good 2.1 ROMS, based off both Eris and Legend. Why would anyone switch to the actual released ROM? IMHO, I think it's a better idea to let the devs play with the official releases and let them give us something better (as they always do - thanks, guys!)
I havent messed with any legend leaks, but im willing to bet eris is as close as we'll be getting. I hear legend is a bit more dried up, easier to use....user friendly?
Hey, 2.1 was released for the Hero today anyway, right? Jk

Friend Stream is an HTC app that takes advantage of facebook, twitter, and flikr. Since you're linked to all 3 accounts in Legend 2.1, it combines the accounts in one straming app. It kinda looks like the facebook wall, but it's a combination of all activity in all three accounts. More info at HTC's Website. or try it out in DarchLegend 4.2.2.

Congrats - you're the only person still running an original rom on here. And hopefully Android wont make it in here, after the 10 minute experience I've had of the Xperia 10 thingie.
Pretty sure im not the only person using a stock ROM, and I really was joking about android, if I wanted that I'd have got an android phone.
Hi conantroutman
I'm still using the stock ROM and have the Google YouTube app v 2.4.4 running fine. Had previously tried a HTC one and it stopped htc player from working so uninstalled it and all is now well.
Just installed that new rom from the original stock and the youtube app is working much better than before, video seems better quality.. everythings smooth etc!
Thanks guys, much better after flash, htc player and youtube working together in perfect harmony! brings a tear to my eye......
sms sent notification on the other hand is making me want to smash my face into the screen...........
Oh well, rough with the smooth and all that...............
ok so ive had my aria for about one or two months and i been keepin up with the Liberated roms but Cyanogen just been itching the back of my head to try it so yesterday i did and ive been playin around with it and its some things i like and some i dont a little more that i dont so i restored back to liberated and i was thinking... can you integrate the roms r juss take parts from Cyanogen and put the on Liberated?
What parts would you want integrated into cm6 from liberated? If it's the sense widgets it's not possible to integrate them into cm6.
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
Yes, you can dump a ROM and play chef. Like what was said above, except for HTC Sense anything can be added or removed.
I didnt want to give up Sense at first so I made a custom 2.1 so I could keep Sense but have some other features that were on Froyo. Now I am just using CM6.
I kno you can't put sense parts in cm6 I wanted cm6 parts on liberated like the notification bar customization and the notification drop down that's like the main thing I like
And I would try and " play chef" with the roms but I Dnt kno were to start r wat im doing lol

Outside of the Sense stuff, CM6 has everything Liberated has and more. I think it would be a lot of work to add some of the mods from CM6. I was like you at first but I bought Launcher Pro and learned to live with CM6, now I can't look back. Do a nandroid of your Liberated then move to CM6 for a week, I think you might just like it.

Except properly working bluetooth. The stock bluetooth stack works fine, but AOSP bluetooth doesn't work at all with certain devices, for example the in-car bluetooth in my BMW.
Doesn't look like this will be fixed anytime soon either, as they either don't know how to or don't care enough to copy over the functional parts from the stock bluetooth.
From the FAQ:
Q. What's wrong with bluetooth? It doesn't work with my floozengadget.
A. Nothing. All bluetooth functions have been confirmed *WORKING* with compatible devices.
Q. But my floozengadget device is bluetooth compatible. What's wrong with bluetooth?
A. Nothing. Android AOSP bluetooth on the broadcom chipset is not compatible with every bluetooth device. Consistent compatibility issues have been noted with devices using certain parrott chipsets, certain automobiles with factory bluetooth including most Nissans, Volkswagons and an assortment of other devices and autos.
Q. Can you fix bluetooth so it will work with my floozengadget device?
A. No.

I have a stock N1 and my app seems to work fine on there..
But when the first person downloaded the app he said it failed on the EVO which is most likely running sense UI.
So it is a matter of trying to find someone with a sense ui phone and asking them to test?
or
Is there a way i can have a sense ui emulator run through eclipse?
I don't think there is a sense ui emulator for eclipse sorry Maybe root and try a sence rom

How can i give up stock for a sense rom!!
Maybe some of you who are kind and willing to help can test the app for me. Without leaving comments or ratings unless it works
It's available via the market, just search SMS Safe
It's basically an app that hides your SMS messages behind a password.
Ill try it for you but I searched the market n couldn't find it so can you juss post it r sumtin

Maybe its my phone I read some stuff about how the market is filtered for different phones not sure if its true but if it is that could b it
POSTED FROM MY BOMB A$$ HTC ARIA!!!!!!!!
I just tested it on a Desire running Froyo and Sense and it works fine.
It's true that the market filters apps, mainly based on the capabilities your app requests. For example, if your app requests access to GPS services, it will not appear in the market for anyone using a phone without GPS.
Check your app manifest.

Thank you very much, maybe i should limit it to medium sized screens only for now.
Tested on EVO running a 2.2 sense rom. I didn't really mess around with it too thoroughly as I have no need for such an app, but figured I'd give it a quick try out to give you some feedback as far as sense goes and it seems to be working fine
