Bricked HD2 Help......
No Boot loader
Not charging
No lights
Nothing by pressing vol down and power buttons
Nothing by pressing both vol buttons and reset button
Turned off for hours without battery and pressed power button for long time to drain the battery and turned back on.
Nothing works any more ideas.
But when I connect it to my laptop it does make a notification sound that a new device is connected and is called the qualcomm cdma technologies msm.
If I have bricked it and no solutions and I have warranty should I call HTC or my insurance company?

Ehm,first of all i think you dont have to post it in 4 different sections of the forum...
Have you checked the connection pins of the batt?

how do you brick your phone? i think it will be phone issue...

Question - what were you doing when you caused it to crash?
Try booting it with out the memory card.
Also check the pins that make contact with the battery. Make sure they are not bent up.

Call your insurance because you have already voided your warrantee and htc is probably gonna get you, for it therefore you will be buying a replacement. You say the comp recognizes it, does the HD2 have something akin to adb for android? If so have you tryed getting into the phone through command prompt, and can you try reflashing a recovery image.

bricked, i guess you have a tmous? and you tried to flash a different official rom? maybe a different language?
If yes, then sorry, it is dead. (The radio included in the rom has killed it)
Try HTC, dont tell them you flashed anything, just say it stopped working.
If they dont help, then go for insurance.

Well, I guess I bricked my HD2

My HD2 doesn't turn on, doesn't go into boot loader, and cant soft reset. Can I officially say i bricked my HD2? And i cant even get it replaced because the camera is somehow cracked, and that supposedly "voids" the warranty.
And Im quite sure you need a JTAG to fix it, correct?
if it was a 51 radio brick, then yea, JTAG is it.
actually, it wasnt a 51. radio brick. I installed the Eugenia Rom through CustomUU while my phone was connected, it installed fine, and then it wouldn't turn on?
wont turn on at all? nothing? black screen? no charge light?
check the battery pins.
Nope, nothing at all. And by checking the battery pins, what should i be looking at?
just to see theyre all in a nice neat line, two one two, none bent up/down. it happens a lot.
other than a 51 radio (or 2.04.50 and 2.05.50 radios), battery pins or a discharged battery are the only reason i can think that would cause complete dead phone.
hm, I think I'm on to something here. When i plug my phone into my computer, it installs a driver. I forgot what its called, but that's all it installs. I cant access the phones files, but i thought i would let you know, maybe it could help me in the long run.
qualcomm? yea, the radio bricks show up as a qualcomm device.
try leaving the battery out for a while, (half hour) then plug in usb (wall charger, not pc) and then put the battery back in. this will stop the phone trying to run on like it normally does when you apply power when the battery is in (thus draining even the dregs of power, possibly affecting the charge circuits ability to start charging, , not very common, but not unheard of either), and with a bit of luck the charge light will appear and all will be well.
gotta go, 3am
good luck.
Thank you so much man,I'll try... ill get back to you about it tomorrow.
Erggg, nope, it didnt work =( Thanks for your time, and thank you for trying to help.
how old is it?
is it warm on the back bottom part of the phone?
Put it in the fridge for 15mins, then try to boot up.
Also see if you can try and put your battery in some one elses HD2 or charge your battery in their phone.
Its pretty hard to kill your HD2.
(i just dropped my HD2 in for a service/repair as my motherboard/cpu was overheating.- had to flash stock rom and spl back though)
I got it two weeks ago Its not warm, but ill try it in the fridge...... and I just did that a couple hours ago, we switched battery's and still no luck.
Refrigerator did not work either =/
can u do a hard reset with the volume up buttons and the power key? reformating the device to default?
Pull out ur battery, press and hold the soft reset button, hile holding down the soft reste button place ur battery back in. While still holding down the soft reset button pres and hold the volume down + the on/off swith and see if it will boot. U might need a friend to help u with holding down al the buttons. It worked for me...
Read ALL the earlier replies. Mine seems "cracked": battery won't charge in phone, via USB cables (2 cables, 2 batteries - one new & fully charged, two USB power souurces, including a car's 12v DC source).
Did all the above hard & soft resets, etc. Nothing works. Phoned HTC AUSTRALIA - MUST send it hundreds of miles (or kms) away to the original Telstra dealer, since HTC does not allow any other type of warranty claim in Australia.
On the phone's pins that contact the battery - they are flexible: up, down, in & out. Being "in-line" does not mean they work.
Not sure why the hardware crashed. Have not upgrade ROM or Android. Won't recharge the battery in-phone with SIM, micro-SD in nor out of the phone.
Wanting for a separate external battery charger (only a few $$) from eBay. Might take the phone to a dealer, and see if they can get it to recharge the battery via the USB cable.

[Q] Potential brick? Device not powering on

Hi all, i have a ZTE blade which i have rooted and flashed CM 7.0 successfully without upgrading the radio to GEN2. I've done this and much more without problems, however today for some reason the phone isnt even powering on. The only thing i did before was installing theft aware 2.0. Note that i dont have a SIM card inserted so it's unlikely that someone have sent a command that turned the phone into a... vegetable.
I tried removing the battery and trying to turn it on, nothing. I tried connecting it to the USB power charger without a battery, still nothing. This phone is supposed to be a birthday gift for my friends 30th birthday, so i'd really appriciate help getting it back to life.
Thanks in advance
EDIT: I've tried the following: with ADB devices the phone dosen't show up.
Trying entering field test mode with VOLUME DOWN + POWER key does not do anything. same result with VOLUME UP + POWER.
Tried different USB cords without success.
Have you tried holding volume up & down together along with the power button. Make sure you have the usb cable connected from the phone to a pc. So long as you have the zte drivers, it should show up in DFU mode in device manager (from what I remember).
I think from there you can flash recovery using fastboot again.
I tried that, nothing happens. Thing is, the phone dosen't give any kind of life signal at all, not even the button backlights turns on during charging. Could it be that it suffers from a hardware defect? Or is there more things i can try?
Yeah sounds like you may have a hardware issue; especially if none of the LEDs flicker on when trying the above.
hmm, ....out of ideas for now fella.
Any news on this?
I am having the exact issue, phone is like a real brick:
- Won't do anything when trying to press power and/or any other buttons one by one or at the same time
- Won't do anything with or without battery
- Won't do anything when pluging it to the USB/Charger, not even a led response
- I've tried with and without sim, with and without sd card, trie everything and still nothing, seems complketely without any kind of life inside. The only thing it does is get heat when you put it to charge with battery
I had it with cyanogen 7, max overclock to 710mhz, min arround 200, and it happened (turned off) 5 minutes after I installed Launcher Pro...
Any ideas?

I actually gave up and sent it in for service which returned me a brand new one. I suspect that ZTE dosen't have much of quality controls since a friend also suffered a case of "true-death" on her unmodified ZTE blade...
Similar issue here. If I press the power button (with or without any combination of other buttons) it just vibrates - no lights, display or sound. Doesn't power on so no fastboot/adb etc. Same behaviour with battery, charger, or both. If I hold the power button the vibration sort of pulses, a vibration every 0.75 seconds or so. I recently opened it up to get dust out from behind the screen, so no warranty :-(
Will ask at the shop what the options are for maybe paying for a repair..

Your issue is different than the one i had, you phone is at least being powered on since its vibrating.
Most likely you broke when you opened it or you simply didn't reassemble it correctly - if i were you i'd do it again and check that all the connectors are connected.
If its a software issue, you can always try TPT - total phone transfer. google it, i read it but didnt try it myself so i cant vouch for how it works.

[Q] - HTC HD2 Cannot power on.

First off, yes I have searched the other threads, but no one has had the same problem.
I got this phone from a co-worker who is not very tech savy, his friend tried to do something to it, but he messed up somehow and now the phone is screwed.
My problem:
The phone occasionally does not start up. It has successfully started up a few times, but when I go take the battery out to power off, it does not start up again afterwards. I have noticed that the pins are a little bent, but it is still making contact with the battery
I have tried another battery, and got the same results.
Also, another side question, when it does power on, it displays an RGB screen. (SPL 2.10.0000). It does not get recognized when plugged into my computer, how do I make this phone usable again?

For 2.10.0000 and return to 2.08 maybe...

Try another cable. it should show serial or usb when connected to a computer
At least you still have the SPL RGB screen, at first I thought it was bricked. Hold the Volume Down key down and try to power it on and try to connect it.

Nexus 7 Dead (as in, totally dead!)

Hey guys, I signed up here because I'm desperate for help!
To cut a long story short, I upgraded my N7 (wifi 2012 model) from 4.4.4 to 5.1.1 which was an awful idea as performance was through the floor. So I used the ADB tools to flash and downgrade back to a stock 4.4.4 image from the google repository.
Unfortunately, after flashing I tries to get to the recovery mode (was on the boot loader) and it said "error", wouldn't let me go any further and just kept me in the boot loader menu. I rebooted the device thinking it might have just needed a gentle shove, but it didn't reboot...it turned off after using the power off command.
Now when I "try" to turn the device on I get a black screen and nothing else. To confirm, this isn't the usual battery related "black screen" with grey static and the enabled backlight caused by long term discharge. The screen is totally black, no matter what key combination I use there is no visual response. The only time I can generally see any sign of life is when It's plugged into my laptop - windows plays the "new device detected" chime, but ADB can't see it and about 90% of the time windows states there was a device error. At this present moment the device is powered on (again, no visual sign) just a chime and an active driver showing in devmgmr for "Android ADB Interface".
ADB - Any attempt to use ADB fails and shows "no device found / connected", I've tried multiple solutions such as the nexus root kit but they all have the same issue, they just can't talk to the device. I know it's not the laptop at fault because it was detected fine multiple times prior to flashing it?
There is something alive in the device in terms of powering it off and off as holding the power+vol down button does do enough to trigger the windows chime to indicate it's powered on, but windows can't do anything with it at all. Note the device was 95% charged during the flash so it's not like it crashed mid way.
Any help would be appreciated, it'd be a shame to bin it
Thanks
Lawrence
Take the back off and disconnect the battery. Press the power button to discharge any leftover charge. Plug back in the battery, then try powering up in bootloader mode.

Hi Psiphi,
I did as you suggested, took the case off and disconnected the battery cable - pressed and held the power button in different combinations to make sure it discharges any remaining power.
Sadly, no change - any attempt to power it on results in the same lack of response
Anything else to try?
Thanks
You might try forcing a flash using the Nexus Root Toolkit, but otherwise I am out of ideas short of buying new hardware.

I agree use nexus toolkit, use the force flash mode... I recovered mine about 6 months ago it was dead... Nothing worked...
