please help... please. - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

ok. I've spent over 5 hours now looking over all the tuts and faqs and everything i can find, but i havent found an answer...
I'm trying to get android running on my hd2, but cant get rid of the robot voice. i was going to update my rom, but in the rom updating tut it said i needed to instal hard spl, but in the hard spl install tut it said "*You can only select between SPL2.08.0000 or 2.08.HSPL. This is to avoid people with 1024LEO's installing an incompatable version and bricking their device*" at which point i got really confused.
ive got android with htc sense running, i just cant get rid of the robot voice. the first time i tried, when i ran clrad it did something, the voice worked for one call, then turned into the robot voice. now when i run it, it doesnt do anything, like literally nothing at all. it gets highlighted, but thats it. then i ren haret, android boots, and robot voice ensues.
any help at all would be GREATLY appreciated, links, directions, anything at all.
my specs:
htc hd2 tmobile usa
1024 mb flash
radio 2.10.50.26
spl 2.10.0000
os version 5.2.21892
manilla version 2.5.20121412.2

haha funny I was thinking the exact same thing.
First make sure you get HSPL3, then get chucky's rom here: http://www.forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734238 AND MAKE SURE TO GET THE T-MOBILE VERSION, then run android, if you still have the robot voice try to find a good combination between you're rom and the radio you are going to be using

No HSPL

Since my HTC HD2 from Tmobile the SPL is 2.1
Is it possible to use a cooked rom without HSPL? Or is there another HSPL 2.1 hack.
Also, I searched the forum on downgrading it, which involves microsd. I'm not sure how to do it, anyone care to explain it to me? Thanks ^^
As long as you have one of these SPLs currently on the device - SPL 1.42.0000, SPL 1.62.0000, SPL 1.66.0000, SPL 2.07.0000, SPL 2.08.0000, SPL 2.10.000 you can flash HSPL3.
And you should always have hspl when flashing cooked ROMs
Dude I'm pretty sure there is no spl 2.1....
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
It's actually a 2.10.000
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6891358&postcount=1893
So I download HSPL3 and do it? Edit: For installing HSPL3, do I have to enter the tri color screen than do it or no? And also, is HSPL3 compatible with TMOBILE?
Also, how do I find out of it's a LEO512 or LEO1024? Like how does it know the HSPL is compatible with me HTC HD2 Tmoible? I know the SPL is 2.10.000
But I read that there is 3 different kind of Leo. So I dont know if it will be compatible
Edit: Let's say I bricked it, how would I enter boot loader?
Bump. need help ASAP ><
To confirm the instruction
1. Run HSPL3 (Do I have to be in the tri color screen in order to install it?)
2. Run the rom I want using CUSTOMRUU (It's a Miri HD2 WM6.5.X (23133) V18) (Do I have to be in the tri color screen? Or can I just plug in the phone and run the custom RUU?
3. After I flashed it, and I want to install Android on it, do I have to do anything about radio version or no? < I am asking this because on my current build, I hear robot voices... After I install the V18 everything should be fine and I don't have to worry about the radio right? Thanks again ^^
Bump! I really need help >< I really want Android on this phone and I keep hearing robot voice when calling..
I don't use the Miri ROM but I would search his thread for all instances of "Android" and see what other users are doing. Sorry I couldn't help more.
Dude... so there's a post in this section, actually one of the first ones in the area... stickyed close to the top (4th thread actually), that talks about EVERYTHING you just asked... and it's specificly for our 1024LEO (T-Mobile HD2)
give it a glance... it also provides the links to HSPL3 and instructions on how to install it.
I ran though this the 2nd day I had my T-Mobile HD2, first phone I've EVER customized, and it's all really straight forward & easy.... just be sure to RTFM
Also, as a bit of help....
when installing a ROM, the RUU will reboot the phone into the Tri-Color to perform the flash... however, if it's the first time the phone has been plugged into the computer while at the TRI-Color... the flash process will time out before the computer finishes installing the drivers required to see the device.... so I suggest going to the TRI-Color manually and pluging the phone into the computer... let the computer install the drivers (when finished, you will see the words change from SERIAL to USB in the white area of the Tri-Color screen) then run the ROM install. The RUU can be run both from the OS and from the Tri-Color
Oh, thanks!
Last question. Currently I have a official ROM from HTC, and when I boot up android, everything works fine except that when I make call I hear a robot voice.
Will flashing to custom rom fix this problem? Or do I have to update the radio? :|

Official T-Mobile ROM? it's possible... both my Fiancee and I have the HD2, I flashed to the Energy ROM, and she used a kitchen and made a custom version of the T-Mobile ROM... when running Android mine works fine on voice, she however gets the robot...
we both flashed to the radio to Leo_Radio_2.12.50.02_2
I recall seeing something about formatting the SD card and trying again to fix the robot voice issue... but I would suggest doing some searches in the HD2 Android Development section first (found in the "other" HD2 section )... I know a lot of people were reporting that issue, so I'm sure someone has "The Fix" for it.
last bit... remember to ALWAYS check if a ROM is TMOUS supported before you flash... getting a ROM from this section is a safe bet (and i think a lot of the custom ROM cooks are starting to cook the Android loader in... I know the Energy ROMs have it) but when you start going to ROMs in the Android Development section made specifically for running Android you need to make sure.

So how exactly do i fix this?

Ok, so i watched this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GK3AlYnGUwU
I followed the instructions, updated HSPL or whatever and now...
Android did not run.
Also, my HTC Sense isn't operating anymore.
It says i should tap to retry starting HTC Sense but it never works...
my phone is pretty much dead like this, as all i can use is the start button.
Does ANYONE have any idea whatsoever how i could fix this?
I believe my ROM version is the official 1.66.404.1
Flash a new radio & rom, I'm using Ozrom & mattcfroyo 1.7 which seems to work well but there are others.
this is the best gudie to get you started then retry android after you format sd card
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614
hey dudes
i keep getting error 262 when i update either the radio, try instalilng task 29
or update any rom
HOW THE **** do i get this over with
i'm so sick of it.
please someone, guide me through this..

[Q] Android without a new Radio ROM?

Hi,
I wonder if there is a way to use Android on the HD2 without the special ROM version it needs. During a reboot my device shows:
R 2.07.51.22~2
G 15.32.50.07U
D 1.72.86526
A reset with the volume down key being pressed shows "SPL 1.66.0000".
Thank you
Hi,
that´s a fine question. My device shows the same.
Can annybody tell us something about this topic?
Thanks
You can try andriod without any rom changes, just download it, extract to SD card & run (per instructions). It should work, in general, but you'll most likely get the common issues, like "robot voice".
Try some builds & see how they work for you.
Today I tried out "HyperDroidV1.2" but i get one of the known problems!
I don´t want to change the radiorom because of my warranty.
Every thread I looked up say, that you lost the warrenty if you try HSPL and a other RadioRom.
I'm afraid to make my phone unusable.
Thanks for your answer!
Without the right Radio ROM, Android will stop booting at the "init screen" (or "init panel"?) line and the display will fade to black.

Be careful!!
I tried the FroyoSense V2 on my stock HD2, and my WM locked up totally. No 3'rd part progs would run, could not install anything. The phone was more or less useless. So backup your phone before even trying to run Android.
well you need at least 2.08 radio. i have exact same stock rom, but you need to hspl and upgrade your radio.
Why are you hesitant to flash a new radio? It is super simple to do and it is reversible. If I were you I'd go to radio 2.12. You can also flash a custom WM Rom with built in android boot manager.
My understanding is that Andriod only works with the R 2.**.50.** radio. I think these are the US radios. Any .51 radio are for EUR/AUS and will not work with Android.
I have a Telstra HD2 with 2.09.51.03 and have to flash 2.10.50.08 inorder to work with Android.
I believe unless you have a TMobile HD2, it is quite safe to use any radio rom and the flashing process is very straight forward indeed.

[Q] Telstra HD2 radio upgrade and Android

Hey guys and girls,
I have a telstra HD2 and i'm trying to upgrade the radio to 2.15 but it keeps erroring out. Anyone had this issue with the aussie version of the HD2, and if so - what do i need to do to flash Android to this bad boy or even run off SD or RAM? I have read all the installation instructions, but when i followed the radio update properly, it errored, so who's to say the rest won't error and I'll have a bricked HD2 on my hands.
Thanks in advance.
PS - this is my first attempt at flashing anything - so please go easy on me.
40 views and not 1 reply!?!?!?
Come on people, surely SOMEONE must have some sort of relevant advice?
and remember, I'm a newb to this, so go easy on me.
Oh, I should mention I work with cell phones all day - so i'm not totally clueless, I just haven't flashed android to a winmo phone before.
Did you run HSPL3 first and select 2.08.HSPL?
Nope, directions just said to run clrcad the Haret. Should that be provided with the rom? Or is it something I'll need to source manually?
So let me get this straight, I need to run 3 things before android loads?
What is this hspl?
Btw, thanks for the reply mate, much appreciated.
How did you end up going with this? I have a NextG HD2 also, and am just about to start the same process.
Normal operationfrom WinMo6.5 is to go into File Explorer and go into the Android folder in the root of the SD Card and select clrcad (it appears to do nothing but actually deals with sound) then Haret.
Your phone does require to have a one off flash of the RADIO ROM - as detailed in the instructions of the Android SD version thread that you downloaded. To do this download and run HSPL3 and select 2.08.HSPL. Download and run the 2.15 RADIO ROM.
Wondering how Telstra HD2 customers are going... I have tried flashing the 1 x.x.51.x (non-US) radio that is available above 2.08.xx (required for Android to run) and can't get Android to load. I have had it load using a 2.10.x... and 2.15.x... radio flash but the performance of telephone and GPS is so poor I have have reloaded the original radio 2.07.51.22_2 (and therefore can't run Android)
Anyone got this working in Australia on Telstra NextG to their satisfaction?
you cannot use a .51 radio with android it has to be a .50 radio

[Q] Robot Voice/HSPL3 Question

Ok so i had HyperDroid GBX7 and everything was absolutely fine, until one day I started getting robot voice. It started happening so frequently that my phone was pretty much useless.
I then updated my radio, at least I think I did, but when I go into bootloader, I cant see my radio version, all I see is hspl 2.08. Are they the same? BTW, I installed a "radio rom", from a post I found on this website.
Also is android compatible with HSPL 3.03?
And are there any fixes for robot voice?

To check your radio go to settings/about phone/baseband version 15.42.55.11U_2.15.50.14. In bold is my radio. HSPL is to root your phone. It got nothing to do with radio, updating radio to the latest doesn't mean you will have a clear call. But you can try it, more detail visit the radio thread.

First if you are using MAGLDR for your Android bootloader then no you can not use HSPL 3.03, MAGLDR only supports HSPL 2.08.
Second the only real fix that I have ever seen for Robot voices is flashing a new radio but you said you flash a different radio. Did you flash radio version 3.15.50.14?
