I just saw this and had to share...just for laughs nuttin' personal lol
Truth is, I really do like how the Iphone "LOOKS" can't deny that; But how it operates is another thing..
Daaaamn, that's some crazy lag. While I'm definitely an Android convert now, in my earlier days I had an iPhone and it was never that bad.

iOS4 on iPhone 3G Parody
That CAN'T be real... :O
it really is real, when the 3g got ios4 it really messed up the speed of the phone. 3G owners are up in arms over this and Apple is currently working to fix it.
thanks for embedding, I was tryin' to find a way to do that and got too excited to share

The iphone 3g only has 412 Mhz of processing power what the hell do you expect. iOS4 is built to run on 3gs or Iphone 4 which had double and quadruple the amount of processing power. Just think about the sucky Droid wit its 550 Mhz cpu that couldnt run Enclair nor Froyo smoothly, no one pokes fun at that now do they? I think people are just in denial that the iphone is the best smart phone out there.

In what way is the iphone better? ived used the Iphone 2G and 3GS before moving to Android via Nexus one and guess what? The Nexus one ***** slaps the iphone left, right and centre....
just my personal opinion thou
Ive had an iphone 3g, switched to nexus because iphone broke, and after having nexus for 3 months, was missing my iphone so I got a 3gs. In my opinion, yes android has more options to customize but in the long run iphone has 1000 times better apps, music player, web browser. I like android as well but people bag on iphone just because. Rooting an android is nothing compared to what you can do on a jailbroken iphone

In your opinion sure, but not in mine. The XDA crowd likes to pick on the iPhone more than is merited I grant. This is a WinMo and Android oriented forum however, so I would not expect much support for your stance here. If you want to argue the advantages of the iPhone, and make no mistake if you advocate the iPhone in the Nexus forums you are looking for an argument, then create your own thread and post concrete examples. I personally will not participate but at least it won't cause off topic arguments in other threads.

My company phone is an iPhone 3G, yes, it's very real. The thing is a slow POS.
I find it funny that now the iPhone platform is fragmented which is what people bash android for being. But in reality its just how old hardware works.
And no way is the iPhone browser better than the nexus browser, the android destroys it so much that its almost lunacy to even say otherwise.
I dunno The Iphone reminds me of the sexy dumb girl.....yea she looks good and I would do unforgivable things to her...but NEVER will i marry her...Android is the smart girl whos looks are average.....great for marriage... but DAMN this Iphone keeps blowin up my phone....gonna get me in trouble over here LMAO!
Yea....I just re-read this and .....it sounds like I need to get laid
hahahaha but F IT...... WE'LL DO IT LIVE!
I agree totally about the iPhone Fragmentation. Sure the first few years they all had the same low resolution and processor... but just like everything you have to program for the lowest demoniator if you want compatiablity or face alienating your older customers.
So now you have iPad apps and iPhone 4 apps and regular apps. My gf uses android and hated the iPhone 3GS. Within a month we had it replaced 3 times (the 4th was returned) because it would do a hard lockup where we would basically have to wipe the phone, each time requiring her to restore her preferences and apps.
I mean 4 phones each locking up running the normal 3GS software (pre iOS 4). Thats horrible.
I've gotta say, I prefer the Android fragmentation, where older phones don't get official updates if Google/manufacturers feel like it's not in the best interests of ALL consumers (not just power users with root).
It's a heck of a lot better than Apple shoehorning new OS versions into their less-capable models and causing them to perform badly.

Sorry to bother you with this but I would be interested in the major differences between those phones. Also regarding the new iphone 4G release in June maybe anyone here knows already some details ?
For such a generic question use google. Diamonds are similar and iphone is completely different. The main difference might be that iphone is not a business phone and has many fancy toy apps. Also Apple products are ment for handicaps and people with disabilities like only one finger
iphone 4G? where did u get that name from?
Lol, the new iPhone won't be "4G", Att doesn't support it yet!

whatever "fruity" product sux...
Having possessed both, I have dumped the iphone and stick with my TD2 and Windows Mobile for the follwing reasons:-
1) This forum (and similar forums) populated by (mostly) intelligent people who hold intelligent discussions (most iphone forums I have looked at consist of comments like "I sooo dropped my iphone in the swimming pool at school and then I sooo ran over it with my dads SUV and apple won't give me a free replacement under apple care which soooo sux"
etc.
2) Customisability - I run a custom ROM with WM6.5 and Manilla Sense UI - ROMs are easy to change (with a modicom of intelligence) and there are many available - I never get bored with the look and feel of my TD2. I didn't feel confident about "jailbreaking" my iphone - there was always the risk that some forced apple update would brick it.
3) Security - no fake exchange certificates on a WM phone (unlike iphone).
4) Love the industrial design of the TD2 - a classic IMHO
Having said all of that, iphone was better at music and games, but then, I only ever play teeter and I can easily live with the slghtly poorer music experience on the TD2
Bottom line, if you are at high school, want to be like your friends as opposed to be yourself and like to blast out green day or whatever through tinny little speakers, then get an iphone, alternatively, get a life get a TD2!

Regarding the above poster's comment on "being yourself": http://xkcd.com/610/
You can take that as the Despair Inc. "You are unique. Just like everyone else." or the Fight Club "You are the all singing, all dancing, crap of the world."
The iPhone is a vendor-locked entertainment device with communication and business features.
The Touch Diamond / 2 is a customisable business and communication device with entertainment features.
It all depends on which you class as most important. Personally, I have a Sanza Fuze, so don't need a phone which plays MP3s.

what he means is go for iphone if you want a phone that works
or go for htc if you want to be constantly restarting your device, having to get fixes all the time, and inevitably throwing your phone out the window because it's laggy, bug ridden and slow.
What iPhone does best it does a lot better than any winmo, and vise versa. To each his own, and it doesn't mean that iPhone is for kids and winmo is for grownups.
Basically owning an apple product says two things about you.
1) You've got so much money you don't know what to do with it.
2) You're either not very IT literate and you buy whatever you see advertised on TV because you don't know any better or you're just too lazy to compare specs and as a result have bought something with half the functionality for twice the price.

Well 2 of the 4 are by the same guy who is obviously biased. The other two are not too bad. Google getting sued over a book, doubtful successes in court. As far as customer support, that could be an issue, we'll see...
What happened is the Apple Kool-Aid. Put an Apple logo on the phone and they'll change their tune.
I can understand not liking the Nexus One for actual reasons (hardware keyboard)... but the reasons that many of these articles are stating is really, really reaching.
It doesn't matter what Apple does with the next iPhone because it'll be hailed as the greatest thing ever by the Apple...yadda, yadda, yadda....

I think on the whole, end users love the device, but the news organizations are dishing out a lot of hate. More so than usual. The iPhone is an old device now, the 3GS was only an incremental update. It's ok to like the iPhone, its a great phone, but this sort of blind kneejerk reaction to competition is insane. It only helps to make everything else better.

Yeah, it's quite old. The single greatest thing Apple did was make the "smartphone" (at launch it wasn't terribly smart compared to my WinMo phones) mainstream, even when the cost was high. The phone, and its OS, are dated. Period. It's now making its mark with apps, and not on the virtues of the phone (hardware, OS) itself. There will likely be another mind-numbing incremental change that could have either been integrated earlier (like BT stereo/AVRCP and a damn 3G chip) or something that will alienate the existing userbase (even stronger hardware to run games that can't be run on older hardware). But it's OK, because most Apple users are used to pitching the "old" stuff and getting the newest, or even skipping a generation.
I have 2 G1s at the house, and I got the Nexus One because I felt like the G1 didn't fairly show what the Android OS can do. I have "TheOfficial..." ROM on both of them, and it finally started running really quickly with 2.4.2 on it. I feel like the N1 with be a huge leap forward once all the RAM is opened up (kernel update) and will be completely usable in 3 years. I can still use my G1 if I wanted to, and get virtually all the functionality of the Nexus One, but the N1 does it faster and with a bit more style.
Yeah Apples, "buy our products because they're 'cool'" is mind numbing to me. I love how everyone gets excited when the iPhone can do stuff that normal phones have been able to do for years, like picture messaging, oh man. I think I could do that a good year or 2 before the first iPhone even came out. Also funny are the new commercials showing someone "talking on the phone" while doing other tasks, except they have to put the call on hold, oops, and by then ATT's network probably already dropped the call. Oh well, it's other peoples money, not mine.
except they have to put the call on hold, oops,
Are you serious? Wow I was completely misguided, by those commercials and have never owning a iPhone - I believed you could open another app, or browse the internet, while on a call. Lying commercials >.>

hold on to your horses, this is a long one:
Why is it that whenever someone picks up my phone they say, "its just like an iPhone" or "its an iPhone wannabe" or something along those lines. About the only thing the Evo has in common with the iPhone is a touchscreen and camera. One of my friends said it LOOKS like an iPhone. HOW?? It has red accents, a kickstand and something I think the iPhone lacks, character. Apple has a lock on the smartphone market for the average consumer, and it infuriates me. The Evo is, IMO light years ahead of the iPhone, as is Android as an operating system. iOS4 is just now starting to catch up to Android in terms of necessary features, and is still lacking in other departments.
With the announcement of iPhone 4, the ONLY thing that the iPhone does better is the display (I would still prefer the mammouth Evo screen), the battery (will have to wait for reviews to confirm) and camera. Also, I have to admit that the video editing on the fly capabilities are very slick. The thing that has pissed me off the most is the "revolutionary" video chat feature in the new iPhone. BULL! With the Evo, I can video chat ANYWHERE I want on a dependable network, not only when I'm tied down to a WiFi network.
I just wish people weren't so "OOOH iPhone" like. Don't get me wrong, Apple makes phenomenal products. I'm writing this on a Macbook Pro with my 2 iPods charging next to me. But I think people really limit themselves when it comes to the mobile market. The only thing I applaud about the iPhone is what it has done for products today, the Evo most likely would not be here today if not for the iPhone. I used my dads iPhone to download and play some random game, in the middle of the game he got a text message. I was absolutely amazed that there was no way to see what the message was without exiting out of my game on this "magical" device. It could've been an urgent SOS from my brother saying he was being held at gunpoint at a bank, or it could've been my mom asking if we had any milk left. How do people function like that???

MODS: delete if anything is wrong with this post, I had to get this off my chest though
iPhone 4 is another letdown just like iPhone 3GS. I had the iPhone 3G and didn't upgrade to the 3GS because it was not enough to move me. Anyone who says Evo 4G is a iPhone lookalike is a fanboy.
They put the iPhone 4 display against the plain ol' background on a 3GS. How are you going to compare a background that's in grey to a black plain one. A real comparison would be a JB'n iPhone 3GS background with a background of the iPhone 4.
I'm open to new things and I will admit I jumped the on iPhone due to the hype. I soon became really bored with it and the fact that my phone would constantly go into safe mode. JB's iPhones are so unstable as far as crashing.
Honestly, the iPhone got so much attention because apple can afford to market it like a mofo.
They are going to deceive people with this whole retinal display BS. I will hand it to them that the built in GYRO is cool. I'm pretty sure there will be cool apps but still not interested in it let alone the price of owning one.
I had ridiculous amounts of drop calls that I still have nightmares. I find myself looking on my Evo screen when I hear silence just to make sure it didn't drop it. Thankfully I haven't dropped a call yet.

You should be safe, I've never dropped a call on Sprint. When my Dad is working in NYC, its not even worth making the call. Even at the Indy 500 a couple weeks ago he couldn't complete a call. Nothing about it makes sense, it baffles me.
The developer community is incredibly strong, but even that argument doesn't hold up too well. Most good apps for iPhone have a Android app, or at least something comparable.
It makes sense none of us get it though, it is an Android board. We've seen the light

I was more referring to the notification system in Android. In [almost] any app you get a little preview of what the message is and who sent it in the notification bar. It's not perfect, but worlds better than nothing.
Thats the power of Apples advertising. Everyone knows the iPhone. Its so bad that even "tech" people compare every phone to the iPhone.

op, you're wrong.
iphone vs any other phone (best android phone at the moment) is very relevant. Both phones have a lot in common with each other with some key differences.

The evo is a lot like the iPhone and without the iPhone we probably wouldn't have Android at all. We would be here still making windows mobile 6.1 roms.
I'm a big fan of Android, but give credit where credit is due. Apple created this industry, google ,ade it great, and Microsoft still hasn't shipped a significant update to their flagship mobile operating system.
The average person is an idiot.
The iphone can be successful used by 5 year olds.
Their success is entirely because if two thing. What it does it does well. KISS.
We all should thank Motorola (although they butchered the Android name).
They got the Android OS out there. They have marketed the Android heavily and I am glad.
But because of them, however, is why people call the Android system "Droid."
I guess the Apple fans can agree to disagree and they have that right. When it come to little touches I would have to give the edge to apple on it. I would have given another thought had it had a larger screen to really take advantage of that resolution. But in the grand scheme of things and Apples marketing process they wanted to be the worlds thinnest phone and claim longer battery life and this might not have been achievable with a 4 inch display. The Samsung galaxy is close at 9.9 mm. They added some perks to their software update and now claim to have made the best multitasking method for the mobile phones. We will have to see about that.
What I don't like it the many unfair claims towards the Evo for battery drain. I have not seen those numbers yet on my phone. So to all the journalist tech bloggers who reviewed the Evo please re-review them or correct your article because I only read a few that said "in all fairness the Apple iPhone 3gs lasted just as long". The battery has been what has hurt the Evo more than the 4G network in the reviews.

I wouldn't go that far, I am pretty sure we have WinMo and PalmOS to thank for Android, considering Google purchased Android Inc. in 2005, back when the iPhone was just rumor and speculation.
So yeah.. seems like the iPhone 5 wont be announced until September.. which means SGSII will be safe for another few months.
I'm just joking.. or am i?
Iv just had so many problems with the SGSII... I just dont know what phone to get right now.. since the SII is the best out. I dont want to buy it again.
Iv never owned an apple product before.. but my brother has owned lots..
Wish they announced it so i could compare the two and see which one is the best
---- IF it is the SII then i might have to go back to it >.>... so i hope they do something good with the iphone
Fanboys gtfo thanks.
No phone is perfect but remember when you buy an iphone no flash, no flash, no flash...it's not that it's not possible to run run but apple have decided for you the user experience it just not good enough, you can't even try it for yourself and remove if you don't like it or keep it even if a half baked flash is good enough for you, nope apple have made the choice for you: no flash!
Expect to wait a while longer than september. The iphone 4 plus will be coming first with some minor improvements but no major changes.

And you know it's not only that I dislike the apple mentality of them making the (right) choices for me I also despise apple as a company, I am a free market capitalist at heart and very seldom find companies evil but apple is one such rare company:
the way they abuse patents and trademarks (ie. steal ideas from small companies) and patent/trademark them and then sue the inventing company is truly evil.
I'm sick of my iPhone 4. I've been a hardcore blackberry user for years, and yes, while the experience wasn't as nice, it was A LOT more open than iOS. iOS has some good ideas, unifying a single format / layout, and all its apps follow the same guidelines, which makes it a good phone for people that know NOTHING about phones! A friend of mine DECIDES to pay THAT Much more for an iMac just because "it works right away, I don't need to configure anything" and Apple products are basically that... "It works without having to do anything" I personally jailbroke mine, and I still can't stand it. Apps apps apps apps! No personalization past ordering up the apps, and 2 pictures (lock screen and behind the apps).
I think Android will be safe for a very long time. They run on a different market. Not to mention, Apple sells things WAY over priced. The iPhone 4 16 gigs cost me the same RIGHT NOW as my SGSII (which should be here at ANYYYYY moment! Come on vodafone! It was shipped! GET TO MY DOOR!)
Apple makes good products for a good demographic, but you also need to understand that the majority of the population doesn't want to configure, or decide. The simpler the better. My BEST FRIEND of 15 years now has a blackberry and an iphone, still, she only texts and uses facebook. Hmmm....
Regardless, you shouldn't see it as "the SGSII is in danger or safe" as it's the family of Android phones. You don't see people saying "Oh no! The iPhone 3G is in danger! But there are 2 other models out! BUT POOR 3G!" No, who cares! more choices = better, for us!
Smartphones BEFORE the iPhone were pretty much all resistive screens, tiny ones, big and bulky. The iPhone has helped us out. The more Apple "revolutionizes" (AKA. taking something that has been there for years, making it pretty, and calling it new) the better for us!

Really the first multitouch capacitive touchscreen build in 1972! when apple introduced it, they meant they dug it up from a grave and reanimated it!

The only thing i dislike about andriod phones are that there are so many with lots of different specs.. I cant just download any app and use it right away. As for iOS there is only one phone each year that uses it.. which makes it more easy to download any app you want and use it right away.
I hate downloading apps just to find out that it crashes, lags or doesnt even start up.
I like andriod OS better then iOS.. but like i said.. there are too many phones using the andriod OS.
As for Macs.. yeah.. i think they are worthless. You pay so much more money for something that is less powerful than a custom built PC.
I built my PC a few months back and i also got a 27" 2560x1440 monitor (to match up with the iMac 27" screen)
It cost like £100 more for my PC but its 100times more powerful than any iMac.
Also.. the reason why the iPhone4 is still the same price is cause apple only lowers it once a new iphone comes out. They know that people will still forke out that much cash for an iphone.. unlike samsung nokia htc etc.. they always lower the price of their phones cause they just bring out so many per year that they have to.
I really don't think iphone5 would've affected SGS2 sales that much. I'm preety sure I5 will be a good phone but not better than SGS2.
I think Samsung s2 better than any iPhone

your right.. its better than any iphone.. out right now... unless you can tell the future
My personal uneducated guess would be that the iPhone 5 will be a speed bumped iPhone 4 shipped along with iOS 5.
Which in the end, still doesn't make it better than the Galaxy S2 right now.
Do you really think people cross-shop iOS and Android? Apple people follow their leaders cult-like and keep re-purchasing Apple products. For people that want easy and consistent, nothing beats an iPhone. But those same two points, especially the second one, is what make people turn away. I for one can't stand the banal conformity of Apple products and can't see myself becoming one of the Borg. To test the theory, go to an iPhone forum and post a question about iOS vs. Android. They'll skin you alive.
If you are okay with a smaller screen, having to manage music, photos, video library via iTunes (having a mac helps ) then even an iPhone 4 is a nice choice.
It has unrivaled battery life, does everything its supposed to do pretty good, has enough apps to keep you busy (if you are a heavy apps user that is) etc.
Me, I couldn't get used to a 3.5 screen after using a captivate for a week, the itunes is horrible on my windows machine, drag and drop ain't bad and the retina hype is not enough to match the super amoled awesomeness....
Its all preference, IMO try your options if you can, and settle for what is good for you. I am here today because flashing my captivate and the screen plus music playback is awesome, and battery life after modded is almost on par with iPhone 4. So all good for me.
What you like may be hated or laughed at by another, and that's life.
i wouldnt be able to live with a 3.5" screen. There have been rumors that the new iphone will have atleast 4" screen.. if not then i wont even think about buying it.
My opinion: I don't think Apple will be releasing a mind-blowing, bar-setting iPhone 5 this year.
Perhaps next year, iPhone 6 will be.

Please don't forget that the iPhone is a device mainly targeted for the women crowd (can't remember where I read that over 70% of iPhone users are women). As such, it can't get bigger than 3.5" screen, since their small hands couldn't handle it.

Hmm...Atrix 4G spots a 4" screen but the phone itself is about the same size as the iphone
i think the OP has made a decision that he should buy IPhone simply because he is fed up with one or two annoying features of SGS2.... is that true my friend ???
just because of 1 or 2 features which u might like it better on iphone, dont make ur decision of buying an iphone 5.... because no matter what, SGS2 can beat the iphone 5 right out of the box... in addition to that, so many customizations r coming including the CM7... which is great... u never feel the same as before...
so be patient & wait for some more time... then u give us ur openion... which inturn will be favouring SGS2 i am sure....
till then enjoy the positive things about ur SGS2....
One of the reasons why I moved from the iPhone 4 to the S2 is because every 2nd person I see has an iPhone 4, it was depressing.
And the inability to change notification sounds meant that whenever I heard the notification tone play, I had to second guess if it was my phone.

Until Apple decide to change the way they make their iPhones, android will still be way up top.
Even when iPhone 6 comes out, the SGS3 will probably be 2x better lol.
Also, the majority of iPhone users who purchase an iPhone don't even know what android can do/is capable of and assume iPhone will always be the best phone out...
I was going to buy an iPhone but the only thing appealing about is iTunes.
OK, I'm pretty sure there are former iPhone users who have switch to the GN2. I'm one of them and would like hear from those of you who have made the jump and how the experience has been so far.
Having been a loyal iPhone user since 2008, I finally ditched my iPhone 5 in favour of the Note 2 LTE. Its now 3 weeks and I don't really miss much from the iPhone. There's one or two minor things which I kinda wished my GN2 could do like the iPhone does but nothing serious enough that will make me regret the change.
The GN2 is the first Android smartphone that has really gotten me smitten! I had thoughts of making the switch before and tried out some Android devices but nothing caught my attention back then. The iPhone 5, though a great smartphone, has lost its edge. Aesthetically, it's a beautiful device and will be loved by millions but the user experience remains the same, the wow factor is not there anymore and I was expecting a larger screen than the 4". Being somewhat disappointed with the iPhone 5 and having seen all the marketing hype about the GN2, I checked it out and bought it within minutes! Actually, the decision was made before I even got my hands on it!
The GN2's hardware coupled with JB is the most smoothest experience I have had so far from an Android device! IMO the experience is in no way inferior to iPhone/iOS. In fact, it beats iOS in many places! It's also opened up a new world for me! Sometimes the experience may not be as polished or as elegant as the iOS but theres plenty to make up for that and I am sure that Android is very close to becoming a perfect platform. Theres really nothing for me to complain about the GN2, its just a excellent device in so many ways and there is so much more we can do with it (I've not even rooted it yet!). My only complaints are:
1. The Android ecosystem, its getting there but not quite yet. The fragmentation is a real issue given the amount of Android devices on the market. Not all apps will work seamlessly and it is only those dedicated developers who keep rolling out updates will to be able to meet the needs of every device. Those types of developers are few and I hope this improves over the course of time.
2. The issue of receiving latest firmware updates. Obviously, if its a Google device then updates are very fast. I just hope that in future the smartphone manufacturers can effectively improve 'the time to market' for updates.

Samsung is one of the better partners that releases updates, so feel yourself fortunate! haha.
The iPhone 4s lost its luster a long time ago. I can't believe Apple didn't innovate anything here in the iPhone 5 that's really Noteworthy xD haha. I'm not a hater, I just think that there are so many other devices out there that are better than the iPhone, but if you look at my sig, I had a bunch of iPhones. I would return to Apple if they decide to make a competitive device one day. Until then, Android .
The Note 2 is probably the best device I've ever owned. No ifs or ands or buts. Hands down the best device. Battery life, screen size, camera, memory, speed.... EVERYTHING is just fantastic on this device! No complaints
Enjoy your device!
I have an iPhone 4 right now and I plan on getting the note 2 for Verizon as soon as I can I would have got the iPhone 5 if it was maybe 4 1/2" -5" or maybe had any new features except being faster I think a lot of people are going to switch from apple to android because of the lack of newness of the iPhone 5 maybe in the future I will go back
Most Android apps work fine whether you have a 4" or a 5.5" phone, whether you're still on froyo or on Jellybean. Apple increases size from 3.5" to 4" and the vast majority of apps in their store get letterboxed in the Iphone 5 until they get updated by their developers to support the new size. And then you come and say that Android is the one who has a fragmentation issue. You Apple folks never cease to crack me up
I am NEVER gonna ditch my iPhone 5 for Note 2. And don't ask this question in Android topic. The Android fanboys have more news and interest in iPhone than iPhone users, so there reply will be one eyed, most of them, kids especially.
On the other hand: Note 2 itself is a great device. If I were to choose between iPhone and Note 2, then I'd opt the latter.

+1!
Good move, Android + Samsung is the way to go right now.
Sent from my GT-N7100
happy with my move to pass up on iphone5 coming from ip4 which served me really well for the past 2 years since i've had it.
had several blunders here and there including syncing facebook with contacts, removing ALL contacts after GMail contacts sync and my latest which was believing that (s**pid) Kies backs up applications and games!
my 1 month old GN2 is indeed the best phone for me! really spoiled with the big screensize and watching HD movies are bliss! :good:
only thing i miss in iphone is ability to leave my emails on the device after outlook DLs them. K9 Mail is messy IMO, so i'm wishing stock Email app will be updated in the future.
I've had every iPhone since the 3G, except for the 3GS which I skipped, and finally made the switch. I had the iPhone 5 for a month, but it just wasn't enough. The Note 2 just blows it away in every category. I still have my iPad, but I'm almost thinking about ditching it for a Nexus 10 or Note 10.1. I still love my iMac though!

Personally I think that the ipad is better than any android tab but Android phones are far better than iphones.
Not sure why I think that but have owned an iphone and now have a galaxy tab 10.1 and an ipad 3 as well as this note 2.
I think that a tablet should be simple and intuitive so you can just pick it up and use it whatever age or level of competence you are. With all the customisation you can do with Android I just don't think that they can beat the ipad for that.
Sent from my Samsung Note II.
Agree note 2 is awesome but samsung are a joke. Loved the s2. had s3 which is crap and so was orig note.

OT: i concur! love my iPad. hope ipad 5 or whatever they'd decide to call it will have change in design, otherwise, it'll lose its charm just like the iphone line.
soo nice to have these wonderful toys this lifetime.

I agree, but it's mostly because of the head start Apple's had in tablets. The big problem with Android tablets is that there are big gaps in the availability of actual tablet apps. In fact the most annoying thing to me about Apple's iPad mini presentation was that they were actually right about that, but then they went and showed a bunch of Android phone apps running on the Nexus 7 that *do* have tablet versions! (Like TripAdvisor.) It made them look like they were lying, but there were so many better examples of apps that Android does not have good tablet versions of that they could have used for that demo.
But I think the iPad is the best built tablet out there and it has the most tablet apps. Most Android tablets are poorly made, or they're as expensive as the iPad but without the ecosystem that would let someone get away with charging those prices.
But phones are a different story. There are so many Android phones out there, and the best ones are light years ahead of the iPhone. The iPhone is still really well built but it's just too small and too constricting. I actually had an iPhone 3GS when it was new for one day, and I returned it. Couldn't deal with it; there's just too much Apple won't let you do. Somehow I mind that less on a tablet, which feel more like an appliance to me. A phone is a really personal thing, and I have to have mine set up just how I want it, and I like it to reflect my personality.
me too i came from iphone...
being honest, i loved my iphone4, eventually after a couple of years i wanted to sell it because i obviously got sick of staring at the same **** (including 4s, ipads and ipods) weather i themed and tweaked the **** out of them or not, it still wasn't enough; so i decided to take the plunge into getting the note, although i was gonna buy the nokia lumia 920.
So far so good, it is all confusing though still learning my way around - There are some things which i found easier on the iphone (maybe because i was used to it) for example:
- installing themes/tweaks via WINTERBOARD
- Having all games under one source ( installous )
- Cydia. Wasn't a day i wasn't on cydia
Off the top of my head, thats what i come up with and like i said maybe there are things like that, but i have been reading around and there doesn't seem to be stuff like that, maybe similar but not the same. so if anyone knows, please help.
But yeah, i was sick of spending hundreds and hundreds on an endless device with no real technology! and seeing as i have samsung tv's i can stream youtube, gallery stuff and music onto it which is amazing and doesn't cost what ever that ****ty apple tv costs
With all respect, why that limited, overpriced, overrated thing have to be part of a discussion in a Galaxy Note 2 forum, not to mention be a part of the thread's title ?
Will a moderator close this off-topic/useless thread?
