I posted a thread a bit back about our phones supposidly being on rev.a when they say rev.o. I called sprint and said the same thing, nothing they can do. Its a software glitch and im getting rev.a speeds. Bull****, my gf has the moment on rev.a sitting next to me and her speeds are way faster than mine. Any idea on how to get sprint to take back my phone and replace it with a google branded phone?

Tell us build number, does it start with 1.29 or 1.56?
I know for sure mroneeyedboh has been around long enough that he wouldn't be running 1.29 still. This glitch was not fixed in the 1.29 -> 1.56 update from Sprint a few months back, however it IS fixed by the 1.56 RUU. Grab it from my site and run it and voila, RevA.
Thanks flipz. Is it pretty easy to run?

"Plug and Play" easy... then again I've never bought any plug and play hardware that was as easy as it sounds.
Most of the time you can connect to use and the run the wizzard.exe, if it doesn't work right off the bat. Power Cycle the phone, boot into fastboot and try it there.
EDIT:
Good to see you back around Flipz, you have been tooooo quite recently.
On this wizard stuff... where is it at? can I just restart in boot loader and use an update.zip and load it that way?
haha nevermind there is a whole thread on it. Thanks flipz.
edit: Now since my phone is running fresh rom currently, when I flash over the 1.56ruu. will I loose my root? Will I have to re-root it and then re-install a rom?
I am pretty sure your speeds are going to stay the same with the RUU flash. I dont think its a good comparison to compare the moment to the hero as their respective radios are different and the moment may fare better under certain conditions or vice versa. I would be interested to see if there is a difference, but I dont believe you will see one.
Also, you will lose root when you flash the new RUU. You can use Flipz's kitchen or manually do the asroot2 method which can be found in our forum in its own thread.
yeah i know its not much to root.. I may or may not do it..
What does tha sroot2 have over the first one that came out ( dont know the name )

Get the $7.00 insurance (open enrollment this month) smash it and take the $100.00 deductible hit. (make sure they cover smashing)
Wow... do my eyes deceive me? The EvDO Rev.x is fixed in your 1.56 RUU...
I have known for a fact my phone will not hit rev.A speeds and would love to fix this. I have speed tested to no end, lol, was patiently waiting 2.1 to see what it would bring (BT functionality) lol, but maybe I'll just do it now.
Awesome!
go to the store, rip off the one on show from the wire, then throw the slow evdo one at the main cashier and run. thus, the most simple and easiest method to do.

the best buy insurance covers smashing. i checked,
me, "so what you're saying is that if i take this phone right now and smash it with a hammer right in front of you i can get a new one?"
best buy guy, "as long as you have all the pieces, yes"
9.99 a month. no deductible. can't beat that. the only thing it doesn't cover is if the phone is lost/stolen.
I would love to test that. just like walk into best buy, crap on it in front of customer service, then say it wont work due to water damage, and see if they fix it or gimme a new one. Just to take it to the limits.
I have a with google branded phone that was on Rev.0 ran this and now have Rev.A. Dont know if there actually is a difference in speed I will test it in a bit but it was simple. Thanks
Hi,
This weekend I upgraded my CDMA Hero to DamageControl. Let me say.. WOW.. it is great....
there are a few minor issues..
-gallery landscape issues
-vvm... but Google Voice is great!
-no Sprint TV
-upgrade Radio???
I am here to ask.. should I upgrade the Radio?
did some research and I am getting mixed feeling on this. Since in the past, only real way to brick your phone is to mess with the radio... and all the others that have major issues with the new Radio.
I am having cold feet about this!!
I can see that I am low in signal strength. and my standby time/ 50% of the time my phone is looking for coverage. My battery is not as good as it was before my new 2.1 ROM.
It looks like I should get the 2.41.04.02.(03) version
NOT the (02) version. RIGHT?
Any feedback??

Im in for other's opinions on this. I already upgraded the radio but cant seem to be able to update PRL and signal icon has low bars all the time, even if my wife's Hero has all the bars.

Yeah.. I have read that.. and mine was already on CDMA auto PRL.... and 50%
I dont want to be on CDMA only... because.. I think that it will cause lower connectivity.

Our phones can only use CDMA so i am pretty sure it will not effect connectivity.... unless i am missing something.
You want it set to CDMA only, otherwise you get problems
i won't upgrade my radio until sprint releases one...too easy to brick your phone.

PRL.. is for roaming...
that is what I have read.
I have upgraded the radio. I set mine to CDMA only and I was only able to connect at 1X instead of EV after that. I am not sure what is going on with it.
I installed the radio right after upgrading to fresh 2.0b. My phone has been doing just fine since. I didn't know at the time that it could brick my phone. Glad it didn't. I am happy with the radio.
Does anyone know if the Moto xoom will be flashable to boost mobile or metro or cricket like how the samsung tab is
Great question. I don't know the answer but the question is can any Verizon 3G work on Sprint/Metro(same company). You don't want Cricket. My quick look makes me think the odd's aren't great. But I think the EVO was fully ported to MetroPCS.. so maybe.
I don't think a verizon phone can work on sprint and vice versa. If metro works on sprints networks then a sprint phone could be flashed to work on it. It has to do with the wireless technology in the device. Plus, even if it was the same, I doubt sprint would activate it.
Sent from my EVO using XDA App
I doubt it honestly
My research showed that in some markets Metro has a program in place for reprogramming Sprint and Verizon phones for use on their network. However, I suspect they won't do it for a product like the XOOM.
I hope that someone figures it out. I am partially hopeful, I just bought a 11,000mAh battery for my EVO so that I can tether for hours at a time. Testing it right now with everything turned on, streaming tversity video to the phone for hours and barely drained the external 30%.
I'm honestly fairly ignorant on the matter so if I sound stupid give me a pass..
But..
If the hardware could do it, isn't it 'just' a matter of which 'radio firmware' is being used? (with regards to porting to a different carrier)
Motorola Xoom
Hey everyone, hows it going. First I would like to thank everyone here for all your hard work on these new android devices and helping people like me figure out problems to how to get these devices working.
I just got back from the store where I picked up the new motorola xoom. I've noticed that its on verizons service, but would like to know if anyone can point me to the proper direction as to how I can get this device working on crickets network.
I have a droid x, droid 3 all working on cricket data, mms and all working. next task is to get this xoom working on crickets data... any idea's as to where I can start off...
I'm not finding any informaiton about this device at all for flashing. I found someone who claims that they can root there xoom, ... its a start, but not really wanting to do that without consulting the professionals first.
please note that this is not my first go around with custom roms or rooted gingerbread roms. also please note that I'm aware this rom is the hunnycomb rom.
any help is much appreciated .... sorry about the spelling and thanks for all your help in advanced.

Hi everyone, I use an unlocked Sprint Note 4 with Cricket/at&t. I understood that by unlocking that I would only ever achieve HSPA+ speeds because Sprint locks the LTE band's available. I accepted that, as it didn't bother me and I mainly use Wifi, but that didn't stop me from trying.
All my attempts never seemed to make a difference, until the other week, I finally realized that LTE must not be available at my home. Because while I was driving I noticed I had a LTE signal, which was a complete shock to me. So I did some testing and I only received HSPA at home with all my phones.
Conclusion:
So that means one of the steps I did must have activated LTE. I do have to force it to connect sometimes with phone info shortcut. Or at&t is broadcasting on one of sprints bands in that area.
If anyone is interested in this, I do believe I know the exact steps to replicate this. If this shows interest, I will turn this post into a guide. This would be my first guide, so bear with me.
Edit: After further testing, I'm concluding that I'm only getting Lte in certain area, so it must be that at&t is using one of the Sprint bands there. If something changes, I'll update!
Edit 12/11/16 - only getting lte at certain place. It's band 2. Added pic below.
Pics below show Lte. You can see from crickets website that 4g is only 4mbps and Lte is 8mbps.

I would be more than interested in knowing how you unlocked the LTE Bands because (you must be aware through my previous posts) I too use unlocked N910P with a GSM SIM but all I get is H+.
I did try to unlock the LTE bands using a thread on XDA but it did not work as the tool wasn't even able to recognize the phone.
Hence, a step-by-step guide would be appreciated regarding the same.

I'm not sure if I unlocked them or not.
This just all became aware to me that i have lte. So I'm still testing. It seems like I'm only getting lte in one certain area. I don't know if maybe at&t is using a sprint band in that area. And that's what is making it possible.
I also don't know if anyone one thing i did made this possible. I will edit my post with all my changes. And you can test to see if it changes anything for you. Give me a bit.

I'm also on a domestic unlocked 910p with cricket, and have noticed LTE popping up from time to time. It's not consistent though. I just assumed it was because I hadn't changed my network mode to GSM/UTMS. I was driving at the time so I couldn't check to see if it was actually working.

I've been testing cm 14. So I just now went back to custom stock. When I go back to work today in gonna do more testing. But after seeing your experience and my assumption, I'm thinking that I don't have any more lte bands. But just that att is using one of the bands this phone has.
I'll keep you all posted.
Im also interested, I'm using AT&T towers as well through straight talk... but ive only ever been able to get 3g. But more so than not lately, unfortunately, ive been getting stuck with GSM service, not even 3g.. So if you figure something out that'd b great , otherwise any tips to improve my speed capabilities would b much appreciated. . And just 2-3 miles away is an AT&T tower so i should be capable of much more.

I'm concluding I'm only getting Lte in certain area. So at&t must be using Sprint band there, or something like that. But no other bands are unlocked.

Really, I don't know how I get it in area I get it. But it's funny you commented. Because I was just getting on here to update.
I'm at my sister's where I get Lte. So I installed an app to find more info.
Here's the pic. I'm on band 2 here in western pa. Don't know how yet. Don't travel to much to compare. But this is only place I get Lte. So I'm still trying to figure out what and how I did.
Any how here's the pics
The pic shows 910t because that's the build id i use in my build.prop.

I'm just gonna list some of the newer ones that are still being developed. But there are also more stable builds out there but they're no longer being improved upon. = final build. (Ex. Any of @tx_dbs_tx older roms are very stable= MOAR rom, Note 5 rom, Mr Wonderful)
Back to current ones,
If you want a very customizable rom then Dtux Rom here is great. I use it myself when I'm not testing another. Plus Dev is getting ready to put out v7 very soon.
Then there's new CM14 here. Still getting all the bugs out but is very stable enough for daily driver. If you want Nouget then it's only option right now. Or if you want a minimal aosp rom, then it's the way to go.
Then a lot of people like trying the Note 7 ports, specifically one of these here. But it requires some work to get service working. Personally I'd wait til @tx_dbs_tx releases his Note 7 port. Won't be long, i hope. But it'll be tailored for our device.
There you go, that's my personal opinion through experience. It just depends on what you looking for. But all of them are stable. Good luck!
Edit. I just re-read your question. If your looking for a stockish rom. I'd suggest Mr Wonderful here! http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-sprint/development/rom-t3396498
Read next post!
Or you can try Dtux but just don't install the modset, if you don't want all the custom stuff.

Sprint Note 7 port is very close to a public beta release! Keep looking in the Sprint N4 development forum ETA should be before Xmas. Expect only minor bugs such as fingerprint scanner and always on display. otherwise completely functioning and pure Sprint N7 rom. I will move on to the next available Samsung Nougat rom if I have the time and patience and if I haven't upgraded my phone by then. Otherwise this N7 port will be my last rom for the Sprint N4. I've been too busy to do any flashing and stuff, but I to have been logging on few times a day just to check for his rom.
Okay, I've been digging a bit and I'm not sure if I'm finding the right answers, and rather then trying something and bricking my phone I figure it would be smarter to just...you know. Ask.
So heres the deal, a friend of mine gifted me an Verizon S7. I've been missing having a flash ship phone since my LG V10 ( mobo killed itself, its a thing. ) and was pleasantly surprised. However, I'm on T-Mobile and I'm having issues.
I did the APN changes and while I am now getting data, the connection is weak. I'm getting 2 to 3 bars at home when I normally sit at full bars on my J7.
Will rooting or flashing to T Mobile firmware help? I keep seeing the words bootloader thrown around, but I'm not sure what that is? Mind you, I will admit I've NEVER done anything like that but I am tech smart, so as long as the instructions are good I can figure it out.
I guess all in all what I'm asking is; is there anything I can do to make this phone comparable to the T-Mobile version speed and connection wise?
On the question of battery, I installed accubattery, what are the ideal readings I should be getting? Honestly I would like the replace the batt either way if I end up using this phone on the daily, but I'm not sure what the best battery out there for this model is. Any links or recommendations would be loved.
Phone info:
Late update to : G930VVRU4CRE5
If you need any other info I'd be happy to provide it.
Thanks in advance!

Verizon uses CDMA, Tmobile uses GSM network no matter what you do you will have data and signals issues. either you change your service for phone or change, sell your Verizon phone.
