i just got a HD mini.
a permanent sound noise like quiet "fshshshsh" at phone calling duration is heard both from speakers and head phones and it resume 3-5 second after phone calling too!
i did the Update for HTC HD Mini Ring tone clarity enhancement but its like before . any HELP??? any one have this problem like me ???
help me plz
Plz Helppppp
Yes it is true.
It makes some noise, at the time of calling as well as at the time of soft reset (restart). Update for HTC HD Mini Ring tone clarity enhancement also does not make any changes in this noise.
I think its antenna hardware make this noise, but also I observed that in some areas like my apartment basement and lift as well as highway tunnels, where most of phone does not show any operator signal, this phone works as well as you can make or receive calls in those areas.
This is just my observation, just try it and let me know.

Has anyone figured out how to record phone calls on the XDA2??
I have tried just about every recording app out there and the only way I have been able to do this is using the phone on speaker and recording in notes or sound recorder.
From my experience no need to use the speakerphone.
Just using the phone on your ear will record both yourself as the other side (maybe my volume is higher than yours :? )
Pity though one cant use this when using a headset or carkit . . .
Thanks, it works.... I didnt think that it would. I would like to get an app to automatically record phone calls, any ideas??
Don't know what is wrong with mine, but when I press the record button during a normal conversation, my voice is recorded and the voice of the other person is very soft very soft... Hard to hear.
What could I do about that?
It happens to me exactly the same as j_met.
I can hear only my voice...
@ edsub
Can you hear both sides equally loud and clear?
Thank you
I hear the other side just a bit softer than myself.
Good enough in a quiet environment.
My in-call volume is set half-way.
Same for me and very annoying. I think this dumb device only records what you say to the microphone. If you can [barely] hear the other person, it's only because your volume is so high that the microphone picks it up..
why in the world would you need to record only what YOU say?? I think it must have took at least 3 engineers to build it this way.
~zzz
BTW, I have W2003SE 2.02 ENG installed and still no improvement

Ever heard of memo-recorders??
Recording a phone call is a nice extra (its posibility is nowhere stated/promised). Pity it doesnt work with all devices.
Hmm it seems to work well with mine in all places except very loud environments. In some instances it would not have been possible for it to have picked up the other end through the speaker (too much noise) but it still records them... not sure how it works!

This is something that I really like about my HD. Compared to my Polaris, the voice call quality is really brilliant. Even though I have a kinda low signal here at work, the callers voice is clear as clear can be. Way better than what I was used to with the HD, which wasn't bad either in my eyes ...
What do you guys think about the voice quality?

For me the loudness/volume of the ringtone of incoming call is to silent. Al settings of volume are on max. Even when I tried different ingtones.
Can't even find a phone setting ring and vibrate at same time on the HD!Maybe is there something I overlooked?

1. Increase the volume of the actual ringtone file.
2. Settings, Phone, Ring Type.

Hi
Is this issue allready raised?
During a phone call I can hear a significant background noise like if it would be a "not good" connection. But my counterpart is hearing me quite nicely.
The noise is there IF I call somebody than it is significant and realy to loud to "overhear" it.
On the other side if a get a call, there is nearly no noise at all.
All testing was done with 2 different phones and alwasy the same counterpart
Therefore I hope that this could be influenced by a better finetuning of the firmware/radio.
any idea - trick - recommendation?
Best regards,
dingolino
i'm having the same problem.
Whenever I call someone, I can ear a low noise similar to radio static in short bursts...
Haven't noticed if the same happens when i'm receiving a call so I will have to test this.
Check this please :

Radio interference kind of noise in the handset speaker when on a call..
I have a similar problem on my HTC Desire Z. I got this phone 2 days back in New Delhi, India from a HTC dealer (no worries about the source here). I'm using it on a GSM network (Vodafone). Its a beauty, with excellent call quality and clarity, superb screen resolution and colors, great speed and very good build quality.
But for one single nagging issue...
When on a call, sometimes, the handset speaker starts giving a soft dull crackling sound.. radio interference (like the one you hear when you bring a handset close to unshielded speakers). It stays on and may or may not go away during the call. Sometimes this noise is not heard at all. I have tried changing locations, holding it at different angles, switching off all wireless (blue-tooth and WiFi), using another network's SIM card and played around with all the settings and options within the handset (like turning off cell broadcast, selecting 'GSM Only' network etc).
But the problem remains.
This noise is not there when I use the headset. Its also not there when I use the speakerphone (when using the speaker phone, the device uses a second speaker and not the regular one on the front of the handset).
Even though I plan to write to HTC today and try and get a replacement device, I thought I will try looking for a solution too (though there are hardly any leads on this on the internet). Does anyone else with a HTC Desire Z face this problem, of radio interference sound on the handset speaker?
If anyone knows of a solution, please do let me know. Thanks in advance..
hi,
my girlfriend owns a blackstone that recently started to do some noises, some crackling during calls.
it happens over speaker, loud speaker and even on headphones... but only on calls, because on music player sounds perfectly.
full network coverage, so that is not the problem.
any idea what could be the problem?
thanks
Does the other phone (which u called) receive your voice well and clear?
yes, they ear me well and clear, on every call.
mine does this problem on every call, it´s not problem of the other phone,I can notice the noise even on the waiting tone before other people answer the call
I am not sure, i have never had such a problem but i know that our HD switches gsm to 3g - or 3g to gsm- network continuously. So can it be what causes such a problem? I don't think it is a hardware problem. So you can try restoring to defaults & hard resetting or changing rom. I don't have any other opinion for now, sorry
have you tried another radio rom followed by a hard reset?
after all, the radio handles these things and newer radio often have better call quality.
When you call granny, does she keep saying "Huh?! Wut?!" or does the conversation flow pretty well? Rate this thread to express how you feel about the Xiaomi Poco F1's call quality. A higher rating indicates that calls are clear and crisp, and that regardless of background noise, you can hear the other party clearly (and with ample volume) and they can hear you.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Call Quality Not Good

Which network are you using.
With Vodafone in Mumbai I am pretty impressed with the signal and call quality
Using Airtel and Jio in Mumbai. Call quality is really good. Very impressed with clarity even on speaker call.
I'm using tata docomo and live in pune
Call quality is good, I can here the other person crisp and loud and vice versa.
One thing I'd like to mention is, there's a beep sound during the call when the call is longer, say 10 mins, and a couple of words said by the other person are not audible during that beep!
I think this is network related coz had similar issue with my nexus 5
Bad voice call quality
Using it for last 5 days, Airtel Bangalore.
Lot of problems. Echo. Call drops. Low sound. Noise, etc.
Didn't face any problems with the calls. Quality is great.
Could anyone screenshot the incoming call screen. I have no idea what Xiaomi/Poco F1 Call app looks like when you get an incoming call
Call quality was good on 9.6.14 but since i update to 9.6.22 very bad call quality low volume cuts with full signal strengh.
I'm in France i have tester with free and orange
I've heard of Chinese phones having problems with mic/call quality because of noise cancelation being enabled. If u have a soft voice, it will sound low to the other person so u might need to speak up. Sometimes people will make a mod to cancel it if root is available. Would not be surprised if it also happens with this phone but that is definitely one of the first things that xiaomi or any company should prioritize since it is a basic function for a phone and the main reason why most have one
No issues in Croatia tele2 network
quality is very good on jio network, earpiece is loud and clear no problem so far.
I have an annoying buzzing sound coming from somewhere near the ear piece, underneath the screen...
Call qulaity is not good
Also my mobiles speaker is not working.
I have the latest Global beta installed and have since 2-3 Versions of the beta program sagnificant call problems. I can hear the other person clear as it should but the other person hears me double like an echo. I´am in germany and using Telekom as provider. Does anybody have an trick or work around ? Would an other ROM as Lineage help to resolve the problem ? I must always talk by Headset.

Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk
Faced similar above aaid call clarity issues.. hence reverted to 9.6.14 version. Oreo. Now experiencing good voice clarity and signal coverage. Data downloading speed good too.
"I have an annoying buzzing sound coming from somewhere near the ear piece, underneath the screen..."
Hey, is it only during phonecall? I think i might have the same thing if it is, buzzing or high-pitch sound when calling with someone. Over both normal network or wifi (whatsapp etc). I wonder if its Hardware or software issue.
not impressed with the mic or the ear speaker i find the mic only picks up voice if mouth is right on the location and even then lot of people have said to me i am quiet and the speaker i have had to turn it up to almost max (no it's not my hearing i had that tested week ago it was fine)
i thought it might be faulty handset but few friends also picked up these phones and said they had to get rid of it due to poor sound quality as well as signal issues which they never had either problem with there htc phones
I'm very happy with the call quality! But I had really quiet phone before and my opinion can be based on that. Right now I can put my phone away withour the loudspeaker and I still hear what's going on
