Is game data on root? If it is can somebody point me to it? I'm trying to backup my Basball Superstars data for when I switch ROMs. I'm tired of starting over.

I don't normally use it... but I've started to. When doing a backup do we do all app+ system data and then when we recover, do we do all apps+data? Going from sense to senseless wouldn't that mess things up as it's recovering some HTC frameworks?

when i do it, I goto backup/restore tab at the top and then I hit menu and then batch and then I do back up all apps. I dont worry about anything else. Its just setting things up. the apps is where the PITA starts, ya know?
and when you restore just restore apps
apps + data is fine if you add system data some times bad things can happen when going from rom to rom
I use titanium backup and MyBackup Pro. I think My backup pro is more friendly when switching roms.

How do you backup your email settings? Also, If your browser doesn't have the export bookmarks option, how do you backup your bookmarks? I know Miren Browser has it, but I'm not sure if CM Stock and Xscope has it.
I've had a bad experience in that I can't seem to get TB to back up angry birds properly.
Every time I switch roms I run my restore and angry birds is an instant force close. I've tried just grabbing it from the market and restoring data only but it gives me the same problem.
Any ideas?
Other than that, TB is the ****.

I back up User Apps+Data, then when I restore, I only restore Apps, and then go through and restore data for the programs I need it with (Tweetcaster, Tapatalk, Facebook etc.) and I've never had any major problems.
Whom I restored my Dolphin all bookmarks were still there.
You have been EVOfied.

I was wondering how to backup an app WITHOUT backing up the data along with it. I have been having permission problems with my restores after flashing new roms. I believe it has something to do with the user data that comes with the apps.
Basically, how do I backup apps alone, without any of my personal data coming along with it?
Is there such a function on Titanium Backup? I have been using this.

With Titanium Backup you can restore Apps one by one. or as a batch option. You do not have to back up personal data with the app data.
This is what i do when i switch ROMs. I just skip the sign in, then log in via the accounts and sync option, then use the market to download T/Backup and batch restore and allow Google to re-sync my phone and use tit/bac for my apps.

Right, that is what I meant. When you just backup apps alone, the app data comes along with it. For example, when I restore angry birds alone, I still have all of my accolades. I was wondering how I could restore apps similar to freshly installing it onto my phone.

Yes. If you do a batch restore you can have it do "restore apps with data" and it will act like you never left the game.
I forgot to mention a part, please look at my above post again. Thanks

Yes you can also restore apps w/o user data.
you can also unlink apps from the market. So like with the recent flash update you can unlink the app from the market so you do not get market updates. so i can keep 10.1 and not worry about 10.2.
So how would I do that?

after you've rooted
after you've made sure s=off
you need to install the TB from the market and the Pro Key
once you you do that open the app up, download BusyBox via the "problems" button.
Then go to the "backup/restore" button and pick what you want to freeze/backup/restore
if you want to do a batch option from the main screen press the menu > BATCH > then select what you want to .

You can also try MyBackup Root. Its free and a little easier to use than Titanium. Seems to work great for me.
As well as ES file explorer or AntTek app manager.

Hi everyone,
I know there is a lot of backup apps but I've not found one that physically backs up the app and then restores it (re-installs) after installing a new rom.
Can anyone suggest an app that will do this?

You can use Titanium Backup for when you are rooted and Carbon for when you are not rooted or you do have root. Both are good but Carbon doesn`t require root.
Btw i would only backup user apps and data and no system apps.
I have titanium backup, but last time it didn't actually backup the installed apps only the data. Is that the case still? Or will I have to go ahead and re-download all the apps?

Usualy it also backs up user data as well as the apps. Maybe you chose the wrong backup option?
adb backup is always there, thats google own integrated backup agent inside your nexus. trigger it via shell or nexus toolkit.
i've tried carbon though and im blown away.

why wouldn't you back up system apps?
Because they cause problems most of the time if you restore them on another rom or after upgrading a rom.

I have titanium backup set to sync the backup to my dropbox after it backs everything up. O have it set to do this automatically everyday at like 2am (my phone is not powered off) . I keep getting this error: com.sidhe interactive.sif.dr ? What does it mean. Also, does tb delete the backup it creates locally after uploading
It? If not how can I do this?
The backup is roughly 500mb and I have 50gb of storage

Why are you taking backups daily? You only really need to do it when changing ROMs

Yes, it backs up everything except /sdcard (as we see it, technically this is a mountpoint, but that's for another thread) but that isn't an issue as you can backup those using a plan old USB cable if you really need too.

I'm not sure how well this would work between ROMs but you can do an advanced restore and restore only the /data partition if I'm not mistaken. I reckon it would be quite dangerous seeing as this probably includes system settings so I wouldn't recommend it unless you were desperate. The best solution is to just use Titanium and only backup when you need to (i.e. switching ROMs) rather than every day. For other things, Google can automatically sync them or you can use other backup apps (e.g. messages).
Hello,
i want to change my ROM (i'm using Evo-x4 right now) and i need to restore my apps with data.
The problem is, that one app after restoring app+data is acting like it's normal installed app without my data.
I can make those data work only through dirty flash without wiping data, but then i'm not seeing QuickToggles and i'm experiencing much problems with connections.
Any other way i can restore the app without problems?
