PPTP VPN to windows server - HTC Aria General

I keep getting "server hung up" when I attempt to login to our vpn server. When I provide an incorret password it knows it's incorrect but when I type it in correctly it seems to stall and fail. I've tried over WiFi and 3G but both don't work. Sorry for being so noob here.

VPN via GPRS woes..

I'm trying to establish a VPN (PPTP) connection to my office via GPRS, without any success. When I click to activate the VPN connection, a GPRS connection is established, then it tries to connect to the VPN address (203.xxx.xxx.xxx), after about 30 secs it comes up with the following message:
"VPN server problems. Verify your username and password, and try again. If the problem continues, turn the device off and try again."
I've turned the device off and tried again, to no avail.
I've also done a search on the forum and notice some users having similar problems but no solution has been posted yet. So this is a bump for all of us who are having this VPN probs.... BUMP!
Hi,
I am facing the same problem. Initially, I thought that my Telco was blocking VPN traffic. I have tried on two different telco network and none worked. Has anyone got VPN working before? If so how? FYI, I am trying to VPN into an MS ISA box running PPTP CHAP2. My VPN is working because user on landline dailup or broadband can get connection without problems.

Unable to stay connected to VPN server via Wifi

I am not able to stay connected to Windows 2003 pptp vpn server.
When i look at the logs on the server, it indicates the pda2k authenticated, ip address assigned, then it immediately disconnects, no errors on the server and no errors on the devie either......this is puzzling.
any ideas?
thanks.
I have exactly the same problem. I can see the connection is established on the PC but it drops after about 3 seconds. Really bugging me now.

found any solution to this problem yet??

believe it effectively relates to the differences in the pocket pc using "internet" and "work" when choosing and establishing a connection type. internet expects "." in its addresses, whereas work doesnt and anticipates the use of Named addresses such as the name of your server, however, I dont find the DNS effective for this.
to allow it to work when the VPN is on a work connection, I think you need to use the exceptions tab, and insert the IP addresses you are using to connect as an exception to the rules, thus allowing 10.0.0.1 as an address if this the address to your server.
There are posts on this forum that are more specific, but this is the gist of it, search WIFI VPN or similar. Same method if using a VPN over GPRS.
I can connect after a softreset...it maybe work 1-10 times in a row...and then it just stops and dont work again...not until I do a softreset again!
I can go up on gprs and such and surf the net just fine...but not onto vpn.

VPN Connection Problem

I am trying to establish a VPN connection but cannot get the connection to work.
I am using the built in MS VPN client of Win Mobile v5.0 (5.1.1700 build 14352.0.1.0)
I have tried both PPTP and L2PT
When L2TP, I was authenticating with a preshared key
Firewall logs show PPTP negotiation successful, and issues a VPN IP address to the device
It can ping the firewall external interface, but times-out trying to reach an internal address
The VPN session is established, but the firewall logs don't register either deny or allow traffic for each internal ping request, rather the firewall packet error count increments for each failed attempt.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Wifi PEAP Authentication Problems

Hey,
I have been facing this issue over at my college Wifi . The connection is WPA_EAP secured that requires you to login with ID/Pass to connect . The wifi connects fine but after that when i go to the browser it requires me to login to a local server and install certificate
In browser it shows to continue with the certificate . When i press continue it should take me to a pop-up for login which never comes instead it just goes to a blank page.
this process works fine on Iphone and others but the problem lies with Android.
Any solutions?
