O2 uk x10i users - XPERIA X10 General

Is there any other people out there still on o2's r16 firmware?
I've had no joy with their cs dept and am keen for the new updates but they appear to have forgotten us.
I'm hesitant to root it or debrand it until the modded roms are cooked

o2 germany have it and o2 ireland so why not the uk us x10i owners should all contact o2 and let them know that.

Customer service don't seem to know anything.

I too am on O2.
I rooted it because I wanted to run SetCPU and several other apps.
The only thing I have lost since rooting is the O2 section in the Timescape spline: NOT a big deal.
I couldn't wait for O2 so I did it myself and it was WELL worth it, The battery life has improved by a ridiculous level. I'm shocked to hear they still haven't done it officially.
I wouldn't be too scared to go ahead and do it... just make sure you sync your contacts first, back up all that you can and then go for it.

Go ahead and root it.

Yeah im sure its the way forward! Am thinking death will arrive before o2's update! Ah reminds me of my x1 days lol!

Blimey O2 have finally got their life sorted, people on another forum been moaning about the lack of update. Just for info was it over the air/PC companion or SE Update service. Glad you got it, can you see much difference yet?

1.84 ota update for Vodafone???

Hi I was just wondering if anyone with a branded dhd from Vodafone has got this update yet in the u.k??
Cos apparently its rolling out on branded phones first but I been checking and checking but no sign tut, its been out for a while hasn't it? I did actually phone Vodafone to ask them but he didn't have a clue. Thanks

I was wondering the same thing. Still no update on my Vodafone branded DHD
Just my luck, get an unbranded phone for the first time and for the first time Vodafone branded phones get the update first lol.
Normally have to wait months for the branded phones to get updated with vodafone, although I suppose this has more to do with HTC than VF.

I'm not so sure that's true hawkwind
?? It just seems funny how people with branded dhd's ain't actually showing any update when they check?? Is it even rolling out in the u.k yet?? I thought we were one of the first lot to get it?

Well from the general response I have gotten from the stores around Melbourne, only official Vodafone stores will be getting them.
I've heard Westfield Sydney and North Sydney stores will have them by the afternoon.
I just bought one from a vodafone store in melbourne. Well half way through

Just been to worldsquare Sydney vodafone. No dice and they told me their not getting them. Was recommended qvb. Will update.

Made my way to westfield, and raindancerau was right about them stocking the 10.1v but they sold out already by people calling up this morning. More stock in a few days but as there is no waiting list you have to call on the day and they will put one aside.
# there is a display model to play with if your in Sydney and unsure if you want to buy #
Anyone know of any other places to try?

Just came from Melbourne Vodafone store (corner of Elizabeth and Bourke). Stock is sold out - but at least the do have one model for display purposes 8) I've tried to start it - but battery meter was showing only 2% charge, so device went to sleep mode straight away.
Friendly stuff member said he'll charge it so I'm heading back to that store after 5 pm to get a feeling of honeycomb ;-)
just picked one from the Chatswood vodafone store in Westfield seem to have quite a few. Very impressed with it. Lighter than the ipad and the new Vodafine 850 network is getting fast access.
the store I got mine from told me they were only getting the ten they got today in.
Called chatswood at 10 today and they just sold out.
Found one in newtown and just picked it up. I asked for you guys and they have 5 left so call now!
Let me know if these posts have been helpful to anyone

UK Stock

Does anyone know what is going on with UK stock for this? It's been out at most places since before easter and the likes of CPW are still saying >14days for stock.
Any ideas?
Earthquake, Tsunami, Nuclear meltdown.
As excuses go you have to admit it beats "the dog ate my homework".
Yup its True
There is a strong shortage of Xperia ARC and even Galaxy S2 also owing to Extreme demand and Low stock levels throughout the world.
I dont think even US will get a light of these two fones soon.
I am expecting my pre-ordered ARC around 21st May in India. Thats also
"May be" ...
So better pre order it sooner.
Its in stock on expansys for midnight blue, 5 days estimate for silver. Its where I got mine from on release day

This is what I'd heard, which is fair enough. It's just that I haven't actually seen a SE source confirming. SE tweeted to someone the other day just saying "its been out and available for weeks"
That earth quake is correct carphone warehouse told me that cause they had a conference with se but the only place I could find the arc is with 3 network thats how I got mine

you just need to register and download the client (.exe file)
Then start the file, login and connect the device. Then you can choose which firmware you want to flash... It really is very easy to use, but you cannot find a flashable file on the website. It is downloaded within the process...

not yet that I know of.
there's are apps that allow unlocking for the SII and III (and others) but I'm not sure it works on the S4 yet, we'll just have to wait and see
Thanks for taking your time to reply.

Im with Orange and due an upgrade, if i upgrade with Orange i can at least try out the phone for seven days before committing myself to a new contract, with phones4u etc if i upgrade through them, i dont get that privilege even if ordered online, theyll let me change the phone but not cancel the upgrade itself, with Orange i can. Orange simlock their phones, i want to be able to use my Vodafone sim also.
