When i first rooted my aria it was great, i could switch between liberated_aria, cm6, and intruder easily.
Now, whenever i flash a new rom I cannot get my google account to sync. My phone says "can't establish a reliable data connection to the server. Please contact your wireless network"
No matter what rom i try, it will not let me add a google account. I have tried all three roms and 2 different google accounts. I have to use wifi or nandroid restore to access my google accounts. I can use wifi on all roms but cm6 does not have wifi.
has anyone had this problem and no how to fix it? i want to use cm6 for a while but i have to have my google account for contact and all that.
thanks
Reboot into clockwork recovery and do a data wipe/factory restore before re-flashing the ROM of your choice.
You will lose all data though (contacts, SMS, apps, settings). Losing contacts and apps might not be too big of a deal though, since you can sync your contacts through google and backup your apps using Titanium Backup.
ive done tat, it still didnt work.

Just noticed I haven't been getting gmails emails with eb01 SC 2.2....if I open up gmail and manhally refresh it will pull them but won't do it on its own....already wiped and so on
You probably restored system data. Don't do that.
Elaberate a little...and....how do I fix it?
When restoring with Titanium, restore missing apps&data only. If you restore system data, there are some things that are safe (keyboard info, APs and bluetooth, etc.) but restoring anything having to do with your google account will screw up sync big time. There's an involved process that might fix it, involving clearing every google account/service's data and re-adding the account, but it's easier just to reflash.
I restored system but only from recovery...
I restored system but only from recovery...I dont use titanium at all...thanks for the help I will post later if I fix..
In some cases after doing a wipe and installing a new cyanogenmod ROM, after signing in with my Google account, it automatically restores some system settings (notably my WiFi WPA keys) and automatically reinstalls most of my market apps. This time it didn't. Also, it doesn't seem to do so with the stock ROM.
What determines when this does or doesn't happen and is there any way to force a restore?
Thanks!
You could try going to settings-accounts-and sync all with your google account. Otherwise it may have been some weird fluke
Yeah, I tried that but it didn't do anything.
My theory is the first time you sign in with a new ROM google thinks it's a new phone. So it restores all of your applications automatically. But if you go back to a ROM you have used before it thinks everything is still on the phone so it doesn't push anything.
Thus a 3rd party back up app is needed if you flop ROMS alot.
I guess that makes sense. Although, the phone itself has a factory reset option, so you would think there would also be an option to restore certain settings on any clean phone. Something Google needs to work on. I have everything back anyway through Titanium Backup, but I'm reluctant to restore system settings like WiFi passwords. I'll just have to put them back manually, which isn't so bad thanks to lastpass...
Are you using a 2.3.4 rom? I thought I read that there were some issues with google restore and 2.3.4 but I could be wrong.
Yes, I'm on 2.3.4...
okay so i had a HD2 running Nand installed Cyanogen Mod7 and i sold it to a random person on craigslist, No matter what i did to clear the personal info and restore it to factory setting(including going into privacy and hitting factory restore) it would just reboot and come back up with my background and all my google information. it wont let me remove the account saying many apps require that account to work right and i should delete all personal info. he has his own account installed on the phone using the google accounts & sync under settings but i cant find a way to make it the primary account for apps. I deleted all the apps that i thought would use my old account but now it wont let him access the marketplace, anyone have any ideas short of just Nuking and starting over?

Just boot into CWM and do a factory reset, simple!
Once done it will be like you have just installed the rom, All you need to do is enter his info not yours.
EPIC WIN
thank you muchly sir, though another question and you will be my bestest friend for the help( and thanks alot for the fast reply) how do i enter that menu? i hold the power button till it pops up right? it has been MONTHS sence i made that a custom OS phone and i cant remember a damned thing on how i did it (though props to this site because thats how i did it originaly)
- hold power button down to enter magldr
- ad recovery
- wipe data/factory reset
So for the past few months I've been messing with different roms and accidentally setup one of my roms with a different email and bought the app chandroid. When I reverted to the main Rom I use chandroid wanted me to update so I tried but since I bought it under a different account it wanted me to buy it again. I found that the new market let's you switch between emails so I installed it but was unable to download or update any app.
This is where all the trouble started. I went to Google for answers and someone suggested clearing the data in the market. After doing this market would just say an error has occurred and shuts down. I then tried a factory reset. When I go to setup the account it says can't establish a reliable data connection. I understand this is a known problem but its different from my problem because even factory reset won't fix it. I've tried the YouTube method as well to no avail. One of my roms didn't come with the YouTube app and when I tried downloading it it said I already had it but it was no where to be found under app management.
The only luck I have had is with the muiu Rom. I was able to setup the account but that Rom looks too much like the iPhone and I prefer cyanogen 7 mod. I have factory reset, wiped cache, reinstalled rom. The only way market works is when I reinstall backed up roms.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
So basically you have a problem with the market app? or your google account?
because if you have paid fopr an app on a different email account, you can just save the apk and reinstall it.

It was installed. The problem is that it uses Google to authenticate the app and I can't setup my Google account so it can't authenticate. When I factory reset I get the message can't establish data connection. My internet works perfectly fine. Right now I just want a clean install of cyan 7 with the new market. I installed gapps as well and still same problem.
I really don't care about the app anymore since I installed 4chon. I just want my market to work again.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I've tried everything possible as far as I know.
Okay so I figured it out. What I had to do was unroot my phone. Just download the PC36IMG.zip online and put it on the root of your sdcard. Go into clockworkmod by powering the phone off and then holding the down vol. and pwr button at the same time untill the hboot screen shows up. It will automatically detect it and just say yes when it asks you to install it. When it's finished you have to either delete the PC36IMG.zip file or rename it otherwise everytime you reboot the phone it will reinstall it. That's not a very good fix but as I am the only person I know of who has had this problem I do not see a better fix anytime soon.
After 2 days and near-unbearable annoyance, I was able to root the phone just using Visionary, Root.sh, and the cyanogen update guide (for Rooting phone)---and without a USB cable -- only using ADBwireless, once I had temp root.
One issue though.... Since I did a hard reset perhaps 10 times, following each hard reset I had to login to gmail as if I was setting up my phone. One option this process asks you is to allow google to backup your data. I always left it checked.... and didn't think much of it.
However, now that I am rooted again.... and just flashed CM 7.1 (RC1), I notice that I have about 7 out of 80 or so contacts....
The only thing I can imagine that happened is that everytime I reset the phone and signed in with my gmail address, it backed up the contacts on the phone, and for whatever reason, only those 7 made it to backup.
What is confusing though is that I had wiped the data cache several times in the past, and every time I re-signed into gmail to start setup on the phone, all my contacts were intact.
Also, the nandroid backups I thought I had.... CWR -- once it boots into recovery says there are "missing files" where my backups once were. I don't mind this so much as I am running CM7.1 and can download all my apps, etc.... But I thought those backups might contain my contacts...
Anyone have an idea where I might be able to restore those contacts... My sd card is the same one as I had before this whole mess started.... I would think titanium backup or something would have these contacts.. I can't really even think about losing 60+ contacts.
Nevermind. Its all good.
