These appear to be all the same switch type, but does anyone know if there has been a model number identified or manufacturer? I've been digging but yet to find anything.

Yes, I forget where, BUT I believe it is in that big explorer window that has your phone pic in it.... There is an area in there settings-wise that will let you disable that. Hope this helps some..
Its in the quick launch..right click on the phone icon and you can set it from there

Close. Not Quicklaunch, but system tray. right click on the blue M (MotoConnect) and set it from there.

thanks worked like a charm.
Whenever I press the hard searchkey, it doesn't work. But every other one on the keyboard does. And when I try to use the capacitive search button, it blinks but does nothing. Is this a known issue? I'm sorry if it is, but there's no way to know for me because whenever I use the search function in the xda app, it forcecloses -_- am I just unlucky with searches?

Sounds like you have some defective hardware. I'd take it back and get a new one.
I bought it from best buy a few days ago. Would the give me a brand new phone, or a refurbished one? It sucks cuz they were working before today

They should just swap it out in the store and give you a brand new one.
Ok thanks. Ima do a factory reset and see if it was a little software problem considering the capacitive touch button blinks when I press it. If not, the ima just exchange it like you suggested. Hopefully I get one with a working gps too

i can't be hassled to find the post, but i remember reading in the CM7 thread a developer stating the raindrop feature of our phones is in the PDS partition, which isn't touched by anyone since it's one of the parts in our software that can cause hard bricking if something is done wrong.
so, until a workaround is found or a change is released by Motorola, we're stuck with it.

Install truecaller.login using gmail.block your numbers from true caller.now in a different phone login with same account on true caller.i guess the numbers will be blocked.

Thanks - so there is no way to use the 77 blocked numbers already listed natively on my S4 and put them on my G3?
