HTC Function test - One (M7) General

Experienced owners will probably be aware of the HTC Function test, but for people who aren't then it maybe accessed via phone dialer: enter the following

Thanks! I can't believe I never knew about this function

Thanks for describing what this app is. On GPe it shows up under the apps section in settings and I always wondered what it was.

Dialer Codes for CDMA Devices

I am not sure if people are aware of how to look at the device information when the dialer app is not available. On CDMA devices, you go into the memo app search function and do the ## commands. I believe they have to be the numeric equivalent so like ##DEBUG# would be ##33284#
What would be the benefit of this please? Thanks for the help!

From what I have seen, you can actually reset the device from there.
Gotcha...thanks, was just curious is all. Be great if we can figure out how to dial out...hopefully soon someone could be crazy enough to tackle it. Thanks again!

Dumb question ...how do I access the "memo" app? Is there a certain place I should be looking? Sorry...
Sent from my SCH-I800 using XDA App
Supposed to be under the Applications...check for Memo or Notepad. You put the codes in the search field. I don't have my tab yet so I can't say exactly. The reset would be ##786#.

G+ problem.

G+ app "unknown location "
Does anyone have this problem when trying to post something? It seems that cannot see my position, but if I tap the tab it gives me nearby choices.
GPS working OK with map.
I'm on Cyanogenmod 7
Thanx

I just tried on a Sense based rom and it is working fine. Ill ask as few others that use a CM based rom and see if they have the same issue
Edit. Ok spoke with a few and had them test it. They are a few roads off but it finds them for the most part. I would start with the rom itself
Does the location appears in the tab without tap it first?

No i had to turn on the Agps and GPS settings first as I normally turn them off and allow nothing to use my location for any apps
I can only choice a location once I tap the tab. In the previous version once u open the windows to post something automatically the current location would be there.

i don't have problem here, but my data and GPS always on.

[Request] "Siri Proxy" alternative for Android ?

Siri Proxy allows you to control additional devices with a Siri device. So I thought there must be something similar available for Android.:fingers-crossed:So we can also control our garages with Android devices

Can't this be done with Google Now? Seems like it would be a feature.

I have been wanting something like this as well.
To have an application to do this though, you would have to have two parts two it.
First part would be an app on your Android device, and the other part would be something that runs on a computer @ the house.
Reason for this is because you would want a secure connection between your phone and the app. Otherwise, anyone/everyone would be able to access your home automation system.
If there is anything like this, that would be awesome, but I don't think there is
The closest thing you can get to it is HomeSeer, but it isn't voice activated. It's only buttons.
If anyone knows of a program that would do voice activation home automation, please let me know!

HTC Hidi (HTC's voice app)

Hello,
Just want to share it with you guys, if you know or not but htc has also made a voice talk system like S-voice known as "HTC HIDI".
It's only available in the chinese version only right now and we might see it in the new 4.2.2 upgrade.
Here's a video of htc hidi (but in chinese):

Has anyone tried to grab it from a system update?

HTC One m8 discoveries

Figure I would make a thread so we can all share features that people may not know or advice.
I'll start off.... If you hold down one of the volume keys while the screen is off it will play music automatically. Awesome!

My T-Mo HTC One doesnt do that either
although there are a few other Motion Launch gestures listed in Settings > Display and Gestures > Motion Launch gestures.
I really like the camera launching one. Hold phone in landscape and press the volume key, camera opens right up.

One feature that didn't really get much attention is video recording at 60fps. Not even gsmarena covered it.

Did you happen to have a music player open in the background or something on pause?
As far as I've ever seen in any Android device, holding down a particular volume button has always been used to go forward to a new track or backwards to a previous track.

It wasn't on my recent apps but I did pause it before ending it. I just held down the volume key and music player started playing. On insertcoin with elemental kernel. Probably a feature from the kernel or ROM. My bad.

Allows you to connect to a DLNA device on your wifi network. Smart TV or PC (I use smartshare by LG on my PC as i have an LG TV)
I've had the phone for a week. Just recently found out that it has a built-in pedometer. You have to get the Fitbit app to access the feature. Then it can count your steps throughout the day. I've been using it a couple of days. Doesn't seem to have much effect on battery life.

I BELIEVE the phone already records the pedometer data on its own similar to apples chip on the 5s. Installing the fitbit app just let's you view the data, however, the fitbit apps seems to wake the phone quite a bit and consequently is most likely wasting more battery. If you are rooted and use greenify, you can greenify fitbit and still see your progress wheb you launch the app rather than having the app wake your phone in the background.
