Ok , i am not sure what the issue is but Android is doing strange things , it all started a couple of weeks ago ... this is a totally stock phone...
when i turn the phone off , then back on about 50% of the time I am either missing shortcuts or have new ones on the Home page...
the HTC weather widget disappeared one day , when i go to put it back on the home page , it says something like there isn't enough room for it , i remove all the shortcuts , but , it gives me the same message when i go to put it back on the home page...
last week for 3 days i had no battery life at all , i would charge the phone for 8 hours , then i had maybe an hours worth of battery life with it just sitting there , now , this week , i have insane battery life , i charge it for 3 hours and i can go 24 hours using it and still have 50% battery life ....
I have also noticed that some of the "background" apps aren't working (might be part of the battery life) , the alarm clock doesn't go off anymore , my notification sound for email doesn't sound , it no longer automatically synch's with exchange even though it is set to synch as messages arrive...
i am sure there is other stuff i am forgetting , but , there are all sorts of quirky things happening , it is sort of interesting , when i turn it on i never know what to expect ....
any ideas ?
Dan

Have you tried doing a hard/factory reset? Before you do that though I would do a backup of your stuff because everything will get wiped in memory.

yeah try hard reset, if that doesn't fix it you might just have a bad phone

Hi guys,
bought my Tattoo 1,5 weeks ago and have from beginning fairly poor battery. Even reading in this and other forums that all Tattoo users are charging nearly every day I digged into this.
I found out that my Tattoo is not going into sleeping mode at all. By typing code *#*#4636#*#*you get all the battery information including percentage how long the system is running without sleep.
I played a little bit with my installed apps but it seems that it is not depending on them. Social networks are shut down at all. Then at one point I restarted the phone and everything was fine, running at 10% and lower.
But after I made my next phone call the number was rising again up to 100% after next charge...
Found some information in Hero forum that the dialer app is causing this from time to time so now I have mailed HTC about this.
What experience do you have with the sleeping mode? Is your phone running on a low figure or also up to 100%?
Cheers

What do you mean by 100%?
Just type in *#*#4636#*#* and go to battery (accu) protocoll. Can only guess what it is called in english (running a German version). Then check last option of the first (other usage) and there you can see how long (percentage) phone is running without going to sleep.
Battery History -> Other Usage:
Running 86.7% (that's a lot!)
Screen On 71.1% (that is too... considering it's in my pocket most of the time...)
So you're getting 100% on the first one?
100% here
what can we do about this? it says here 6 hours ago woke up and that's when i made my first phone call...

Have you tried a hard reset?
And have you contacted support?
no i haven't tried any of this! I'm not really complainig about recharging my phone. If others are interested about this thing I'll be to...
Thanks for advice...
Found for me that when rebooting the phone after charging it will go into sleep for some while. Yesterday for nearly half the day which increased battery life a lot. But at some point, canĀ“t say what caused it, it will go up again. Not to 100% for sure but you can see it rise constantly so no sleep again.
I have contacted HTC about this but did not get any reply. Will keep you updated.
have you tried download advanced task killer, cause some apps stay in the background my friend.. :/
I have several task manager installed. All showing different stuff running in the background . Even exiting all does not bring the phone back into sleep.

First time heard that
Have you thought of doing a hard reset? :/
I decided to rename the thread because it seems many people have this problem, and people are posting solutions that worked for them ..
Im using Android build : Mdeejay eVo Sense v. 2.3 rEVOlution
If you get a network problem, try doing one of these :
Enable Airplane mode, wait for a while, then Disable it. [tgtoys]
Get a program that shows CPU usage, and try killing each program one by one to identify which program is causing your network to hang. [Gushfevah]
--> Gushfevah mentioned that STOCKS was causing a problem, try killing this first.
-------> Gushfevah suggested using System Panel Lite, try using that and comment if it fixed your problem !
Try a Hot Restart, fixed mine once.
I dont take credits for any of the solutions that worked, thank the people who replied down here that tried to help me fix my problem.

Hello all,
Im using this android build : Mdeejay eVo Sense v. 2.3 rEVOlution
Can someone please tell me how to fix my network connection problem ?
It was working fine yesterday but it suddently stopped working today ...
It shows 2G with a green arrow pointing downwards and a white one above it pointing upwards ...
I cant use the market, email or weather.
For example, weather says :
CONNECTION ERROR :
Sorry, but the connection dropped while your weather information was downloading
Please help !!!
This is a known problem. All builds using PPP data are experiencing drops, search through the threads.
To temporarily fix put your phone in airplane mode and then turn back to regular.

i have problems with cellular signal too on the same version
although its a great build, i'm facing natwork drops and connection failiers, some off my calls are hunged during talk.
radio version 2.12.50.02_2
I changed to MDJ Froyo Revolution 1.5 yesterday (love the build BTW) and had this random problem. (white arrow up, green arrow stuck on down) My phone became verry laggy, Airplane mode didn't work to sort it out, and all i could do was restart the phone.
When it did it the 3rd time i used "System Panel Lite" to see what was running, and the CPU seemed stuck on 99%, i killed everything in the list, and straight away it was fine.
Next time it happened i once again opened up System Panel and killed apps one by one. The one that made everything ok was "Stocks" which automatically runs on start i presume.
I restarted again and waited to see if it did it again, sure enough after about 1/2 hour using various internet apps it locked up, so once again i killed the Stocks program and it ran fine again.
Thinking that quite obviously something was wrong with the Stocks application i went into the Sync settings and Stocks was not set to auto sync, but it had the white sync circle next to it as though it was trying to sync but hadn't completed.
Anyways, i manually synced it, and since then i've not had a single problem since last night.
I don't know if its a co-incidence, and i'm still trying my hardest to get the data to freeze, but it hasn't as yet after a good few hours using Internet related features.
Will keep you posted on this.

@Gushfevah:
That's an interesting solution (sort off), I'm going to give that a go now!
Was pretty fine today ... Just a few hours ago, I lost the internet connection ..
Nothing is bringing it back again .. Im waiting for the internet signal to comeback so I can get System Panel Lite and check for a solution !
EDIT
When I check 4G in wireless and networks ... it says 4G failed ...
Is that the problem ?
POSSIBLE SOLUTION
Can someone try this when they have a problem ?
Plug your phone into the charger, then do a hot reboot ... it solved my network issue ! well for now atleast ...
I will try doing this again if it stops and reply back here with the results !

I think system lite panel is a good way to see whats using up the CPU for network data .. probably jamming up the whole thing in the process.
When I got my few mins of network availability, I rushed to the market place to get it .. Well until now I dont have any problems after I killed some apps using panel lite ..
Im going to add the on the first topic
Not had chance to reply again till now.
I used to use the Hot Reboot as it was the only was i could re-establish the data connection, as airplane mode wouldn't work when it froze.
Once i found i had the System Panel and realised what it did i decided it was worth a shot.
Not had any Data Drops so far, but i've been using WiFi mostly since, and reconditioning the battery.
Gonna keep an eye on the system panel, and may buy the full version for the logging an reports to see whats hogging the CPU if it happens again once i switch back on the Data.

Thanks for the report
Can you please explain what do you mean by reconditioning the battery ?

See that thread
Its been 2 days since my network is dropped and wont come back at all !!
I tried restarting, airplane mode, stopping connections .... nothing is working :S
I opened panel lite but nothing was hogging up the memory ... what the ????
Any ideas ?
I've had a SII for a couple of weeks now (new user to android) and I have flashed it to Lightning Rom 1.5. But even before doing this and also afterwards the phone seems to crash/lockup at 5am on about 5-6 occasions.
Is there any program/app I can install to monitor what is kicking in at this time so that I can disable/uninstall it?
Thanks
What do you mean by crash exactly ? Reboot ? Freeze ?
What you could do is plug your phone to your computer before it crashes, and start adb logcat, wait for the crash, and then look at the log to see what caused the crash.
It is completely frozen. I get up at 6:15am and the phone has a blank screen, but I can press a button to activate the screen and the clock is stopped at 5:01am and you cannot do anything else except turn the phone off and back on.
Maybe its the rom? Have you checked its thread? Try flashing bacm to stock. See if problem occurs.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
I checked the thread but doesn't appear to be anyone else with same issue. I might try the stock ROM to see if the problem persists. Although I sure it happened once on the firmware that came on the phone (KE2 I think it was).
scheduled backup?
I couldn't find any backups scheduled. So I wiped the phone last night and applied the Lightning 1.5 ROM again and it seems to have been fine this morning..no lockups.
Thanks for the advice.
I had a similar problem with my Nexus S. It went into a bootloop at around 5am... I'm not sure, but I used to think it might be that network operators refresh their networks at that time, and a buggy radio would crash.. This is not normal, if it does the same thing with stock return your phone for repair, especially if you use your phone as your alarm!

I'll keep that in mind if it happens again..cheers. Been OK this morning so shall see how it goes.
Its done it a few more times since I did a factory reset, always at 5:01am. After rebooting the phone and checking the battery stats it appears that 'Cell Standby' has used 52% of all battery consumption and the battery drained from 100% to 9% over 8 hours. The problem also occurs even if the phone is on charge over night.
So maybe it is a buggy radio? Gonna take it back to the store tomorrow to be looked at.
Hey guys, so this has happened the last two nights -- at exactly 2:02am my Droid X locks hard. Just did it again. I have no idea what is going on here but I have to pull the battery.
Last night it was on the charger (And the screen was on) so when I picked it up this morning it said 2:02 on the lock screen. Just now I was listening to music and dead stop -- screen was off but I looked at the clock on my computer and sure enough: 2:02.
Just set the clock manually to 2:01 and started a song -- let us see what happens in one minute.
*SIGH*
My phone has been working generally well..... but then I had a strange issue last night where the phone became super unresponsive accessing the SD, so I rebooted. Then the 2:02 lockup .. and then today the battery drained really quickly. A check of CPU spy and the phone never entered deep sleep. Battery manager showed the phone never going to sleep as the "awake" bar went across the whole screen even though Screen on was less than 1 hour total.
Manual clock set to 2:01 did not result in a freeze as I let it go to 2:03... I just set it to 1:59 to see if that makes a difference.
Stock latest GB, root, debloat done myself (fresh install and debloat a couple weeks ago) .... really at my wit's end with Motorola phones. I have a Droid X2 but find that phone generally unusable due to the extremely lackluster performance including the constant audio dropouts, even with the latest GB release.
Anyone else ever seen this 2:02 thing? Or have any idea where I can even begin to look to fix it? I don't see a crontab file on here. I haven't installed any new apps other than the usual updates that seem to happen every day.
....Manual clock is now at 2:04 (from 1:59) with no freeze. So I don't know WTF is happening. I had rebooted the phone around 8pm tonight .. actually had to pull the battery. Did a "reboot" from the Terminal Emulator and the phone went black and never started rebooting.
I'm so fed up with this damn phone!!
That's not happening to mines
Hard reset your phone n back up SMS, files, etc.
Try different battery!

Hello guys, i have p 10 lite since 3 years ago and recently I'm subscribed to the power supply, i mean i charge my phone and after 1 hour of usage the battery is empty and this happens 3-4 times a day. This is not the only problem at least I think so. I installed Facebook and messenger both on my tablet and on my phone and if somebody writes me on messenger i see the message on my tablet but for my phone appears to be unread message until someone else writes me. Idk if you can understand me. Also on my instagram i set a black background but when sometimes i open it it's white with only some parts of the screen black. Is it possible that my phone is affected by some malware or virus or its just the battery to be replaced? I made several scans with malwarebytes but no virus came out... Sorry if there is a similar topic i didn't check

Hi...
alll is possible
try to make a firmware reset to factory settings but first backup your privat data.
you can check in menu what is drain your battery like a app or hardware like displkay and if nothing helps you can replace the battery with a new one.
