I still can't find my original firmware to restore before turning my rooted phone in for a replacement. So, I'm thinking of doing the next best thing, which is to hide the Superuser Permission icon.
Does anyone know how to do this?

I had a rooted S4 running stock ROM. Unfortunately, I STUPIDLY did the MK3 update without really thinking about it or researching it. As expected, it got rid of my root ability. Only after that did I find out that I couldn't reroot yet. So here's my question. I've used root explorer to see if the Superuser apk is still showing in the system/app directory, which it isn't. So I uninstalled the Superuser apk that was still showing in my applications list (do updates automatically move the apk to a non-system directory?) and restarted my phone. Unfortunately, the "Custom" logo is still showing on the boot screen. Does anyone know of a way to get rid of that? I'm sure root will be reestablished sometime in the future, but I'd hate to have something happen to my phone that required repair and me still have the "Custom" thing showing.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

1. make sure you are using superSU and not superuser...
2. are you using geohot's lambda activeroot?
I have the custom icon on my boot screen sometimes, when it does my system settings show custom, and then sometimes it goes away and my systems settings show official.but I have never lost root, and my firmware updaters r renamed. I am curious. and if anybody can point me in the right direction A custom recoveryCWM preferrably, please do.
I believe I need to remove TowelRoot to get my phone to function properly again. I really loved having towel root but somethings are not right about my note3. This weird behavior started about a month ago. I had been using towel root without any issues for about 4-5 months|! I noticed that when ever I connected my Note 3 to any computer, the usb notification would not show up on my phone. It would charge but I had no way to access files on my phone thru any pc.
Also my phone would not ring or vibrate when I received a call. So I am looking to remove towel root and go back to stock in hopes that it would fix my issues, then hopefully reapply towel root to get back the functionality i want. I realize that I may not be able to get towel root to work again, and that is a chance |I am willing to take. but I need my phone to ring and get access via usb when I connect to any of my desktops.
The only items installed after towel root were the Xposed installer and the following modules:
Allow Long SMS
Blurred System UI
Enable Call Recording
Fake ID fix
GoSMS Module
HideNoPasswords
Instragram Downloader
Keepchat
Restore Input Method animations
Vine Downloader
Wanam Exposed
Wi-Fi--Pwd
So If I remove Towel Root would I be able to perform a factory reset with out any issues?
Any help would surely be appreciated!!!!
I believe it could be one of the Xposed modules causing your problems...I recommend you try uninstalling them and see if it clears up. If you want to go completely back to stock...see this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2483380
Uninstall call recording because it is an option in wanam already
Hi when I turn on the NFC function the icon doesn't show up, are there any ways that I can enable the NFC icon through Root Explorer? If so, please tell me the steps.
My phone is N910U New Zealand Version with Sweet Rom V6
Cheers

Do you have installed any XPosed module that can handle the visibility of the NFC icon (i.e. Wanam)? I've had problems in the past with other phones when the NFC icon would be "permanently" disabled/hidden if you tried to hide it once. Sometimes, even after trying to disable this feature towards reverting to the original condition, the NFC icon still won't show. If that's the case, you should uninstall the XPosed module that caused this, re-flash your ROM through Odin without wiping Data/System (on top of your existing ROM, so you won't loose anything) and than eventually you can reinstall the XPosed module making sure you don't touch the "hide NFC icon" feature again. If this doesn't work (that's the easy way), the only other option left is a factory reset and than using TiBu to restore your phone.
You can get your (phone specific) unaltered stock firmware from SamMobile, Samsung Updates or other similar websites.
Hey guys,
I am looking for a way to hide root, because I want to use the app "SEQR". I flashed the Superman Rom Nougat. I tried to hide magdisk with the build in tool, this didnt work. I also tried to uninstall root with their provided uninstall zip, but this also failed. The app says, my device is rooted. So have anyone a idea to have a possibility to have a rom with temporality root, it's no problem to uninstall root every time when I need it.
Thank you
Noone any ideas?
I saw someone mention the superman rom
I think the best way to hide it is using lastest Magisk with MagiskHide enabled in Magisk settings
I'll bump the thread if that's ok.
Also want to use SEQR with root if possible.
Tried the hide magisk in the meny and that did not work. Is there anything else to do?

try clearing cache & dalvik after flashing magisk. then make sure magiskhide is enabled and your app is selected.
running fine here.
For me it works partly App starts added in the MagiskHide list but the App dont want to activate the Tap&Pay Feature already 2 hours left and still not activated. Already cleared Cache&Dalvik nope
Maybe someone knows a workaround
xposed rootcloack module does not work either
found this thread and got excited I could get an answer

I use AutoNotification @ https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joaomgcd.autonotification&hl=en
AFAIK it doesn't need root.
