HTTP stream and Dreambox - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi to all.
Little retrospection:
I am member for 3 years and have device: HTC TYTN,Samsung i780, HTC Touch Pro and I like forum..so many custom ROM, aplication and people help when you have problems-questions.
For 8 months I've been away form this forum. In december last year I buy Nokia N900 and I like it so much (I don't want to compare phones, platforms, software....etc)
Now I decide to jummp in new platform after Windows mobile and Maemo5.
I Like Android and Galaxy S(super fast and full with potentiality)
In home i have Dreambox TV reciever and combination with Home computer and software - Knots2 (http://wiki.maemo.org/Knots2)
With this software(server) I can change program on Dreambox reciver, stream TV, share(stream) pictures and video from computer and most important i can make different streaming profile depending of the internet speed( 3G or when I use WIFI)
In Nokia N900 there is two ways of operating:
1. From web browser
2. Application(someone make this beautiful application)
In Galaxy S I still can use web browser to control server(knot2).
The problem is:
Dreambox and Knots2 are on VLC fondation and I can't make VLC stream over RTSP protocol.
Can someone advise me, Android video player with HTTP capability.
If you can help me to solve this problem, Galaxy S will completely replace N900 in the way I use phone ;-)
Thanks in advance.
ps. This method can use to wathch from another computer too.
Moderator, i don't know if it's legal to post link to another forum.

Hi im looking for the same player like vlc on my galaxy S too!
But can you tell me wich web browser you use for streaming videos from your dreambox?
Thanks

For future reference, please ensure to replace !!! with ??? in subject lines that request information rather than provide information in order not to raise people's hopes up  That will also ensure that you don't get your hopes up when you see a reply to find out that it doesn't provide any information because of the people who clicked your message were under the impression that you had some cool news
yeah you fool!
Dont screw up the subject line.
TV Tuner is not there in your phone or that matter any of ours and never will be.
You maybe able to see streaming TV over GPRS if you're ready to pay exhorbitant GPRS rates for the same.
Use SnapStream's BeyondTV and you can stream live TV from your PC's TV tuner to your Pocket PC. I did that with my PDA2k, I'll do it again with my JAM.
With BeyondTV, you can surf right to your home PC's BeyondTV Web Server to play back any recorded shows or watch live TV using Pocket Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player.

Windows Media Center
Hi,
I use my windows Media Center to record all tv shows that i like (as i have little time to watch wat i realy like). After mce has recorded this to disk you can tell your media player on the pc to sync all recorded tv from the last 5 days to your magician. This way i always have my fav. tv with me when i am on the train.
Greets.
Marco
Ps; you will need an SD card for this as 1h of tv is about 100Mb when Mediaplayer converts it for the magician.

VLC for PDAs? To receive TV-Streams?

Hi,
I am used to receive TV Transport or Program Streams via ethernet or WiFi from every computer in my home from my satellite receiver.
Has anyone here heard of a solution for pdas?
OK, OK vncview via a WinDOOFs-computer would do - but...
Any idea?
THX in advance

tcpmp can play webstreams, it can open some files which have urls hashed, check out the programfeatures for which ones exactly. I've played a couple of webstream in the past with it.
wouldn't mind seeing a ppc version of vlc though. Nice to see some competition.
How about winmediaencoder(PC) + winmediaplayer(PPC)
Videolan is better you can find it on www.videolan.org
Note: for windows media encoder you will have to have a propper hardware for doing brodcast.
kind regards

Video
Hi,
It seems that I am pretty stupid. I couldn't manage to get vlc working BUT Pocket Streamer Pro work without problems from the start.
I was thinking that the hardware of my S100 couldn't support vlc because the video stream started but stopped after a few seconds but if it work with Pocket Streamer Pro, I don't know.
Some advice please ?
Thanks

Monitoring IP Cams!!!

Hello all,
I have a small computer store and I have connected 2 TrendNet IP cameras to my network to monitor my store and record all activity with their sowftware. Also them being an IP cams any computer in network can open their IP addresses and watch what is happening in the store over Internet Explorer or other browsers on a PC ...
Is there some program for my HTC Touch HD to monitor those cams? Or am i missing something I need to install to be able to see through Internet Explorer or Opera on my HTC Phone. In my previous phone (HTC TyTn) i could only see still image from camera, but not video. Blackstone won't even show still image.
Both cameras support MS ActiveX and one camera can also show video through java, video is coded in MPEG4 format.
Thanks in advance...
I would like to know a solution to this as well. I have the Panasonic netcams and have the same problem. My wife has the iphone and can view movement on the cams full screen via safari.
interesting....

have you tried "my orb" http://www.orb.com/
Try to find out direct url to the mpeg4-stream, then just open windows media player, go library, menu -> open URL
If u manage to play the mpeg4-stream with ur computer, click over the video windows -> properties, there u should see the url from where windows media player is playing the stream. The url could be something "rtsp://..." or "mms://..."

Webcamxp:
webcamXP Mobile HD v2.1.3
This new version has been particulary optimized for HTC Touch HD.
Try Yawcam
I had a little dabble with streaming a web cam to the internet and the best program I came across was a free program called YAWCAM (Yet Another Webcam Software!).
http://www.yawcam.com/
I haven't used it recently, but it is simple to use and I successfully streamed images of our home to my Orange SPV E650 (this too was an HTC smart phone, but rebranded for Orange in the UK).
I reckon on the HD the results should be pretty good. A the time I was using it for monitoring our newly installed cat flap (CATCAM!) to make sure both of our cats were actually using it (one still refuses to ) .
I think if you used this in conjunction with remote desktop, VNC or the like, you should then be able to control the camera too.
Hope this helps...
I own a couple of places... and use the AVTECH DVR's
16 cameras on each site..and it comes with an app.. eagleyes. It is for WM5/WM6..and have it running with no probs on all devices..from QVGA - WVGA.
only thing you may get is a weird name for each connection. otherwise..I can happily sit anywhere and still look at my public/staff

Like L4z3r said, I would check out this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=513988
There is no need for a computer to be on and attached if the camera supports JPEG or MJPEG. It allows you to have one free IP camera so you can also test to make sure it works for you.
mmdirk, the app supports PTZ on Panasonic (for cameras that have PTZ capabilities), you can actually control the camera with the touch of a finger. Hope this works for you.
WebcamXP Mobile HD does the job
Hi, I'm using Webcam Mobile HD (see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=492081) with my IP camera Y-Cam Knight and it works like a treat. Best via 3G or WiFi but 1 pic every 10sec even via GPRS. The software also has full-screen and landscape modes to make use of the large display. Highly recommended!

[Help] Another Streaming app for Android :p

Hi,
I'm trying to developper my first app for Android. As I already have a database which contains all my media, and a web site to list them (with a search utility and even a kind of remote to control VLC from another computer), I tried to port that web site to my android app. (Yes I know, i could just rewrite the site to fit with my android screen... But that's a pretext to create my first app).
So far, i can list my medias in a SQLite database, which is synchronised with my server. I download the media arts...etc. The remote also works good. That's fine.
But i wonder if i could stream my media to my phone too? Not just remotly launch them on my TV? Now, I'd like to launch them on my android. So here we are, i configured VLC well and i can stream my medias in the LAN, on my phone... But not outsire the lan.
That's a common question. I found it several times in google, but no answers. So i asked on videolan forum why I could'nt stream out the LAN? They said that it's the client that choose the ports where VLC streams the media. That's the point : I don't know how to configure the stream ports in android!
Any one know that?
Many thanks.
P.S. I'm french, and I don't speak very well I think . Please forguive me and ask if you want more informations!
P.S.2 the videolan forum where I asked my question :
http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=82192
i use orb for all my media streaming to m evo.try it.you can stream anything with it and more...its free. google it make sure check orb classic ...
Tanks for your answer.
But my problem is not to find another solution, I'd like be able to say "i have it working" and you must know that my server, which contains my media, is under ubuntu. And orb doesn't work under Linux so far. I'm trying jinzora but I really would like to have my solution with vlc to work. As it work on LAN, I think I'm close to the solution. I only need to Know how to change default streaming port under Android client...
Thanks again.
